Man, I was there and I lost my mind when he doubled in the 3 runs. And then I notice that he just takes off a good 2-2.5 seconds before the pitcher even begins his motion. I stood up immediately and lost my mind again (along with everyone else) THEN the sac fly, and right when Noot made contact, I stood up again and said to myself, “this mf is seriously gonna tag up and score. Manufacturing the run entirely on his own” and he did it!
I've noticed that some opposing pitchers that's teams are out of contention are trying to get him there by throwing fast balls down the middle for him which I don't really care for.let him earn it honestly if he's going to get it.
Do they have enough starting pitching to get it done in the post season though..Wainwright you never know what your going to get from him,he didn't look to impressive last night against the Cubs.
@@spiderreed350 Wainwright is tough in the post season - he's a gamer. But yes at this point in the season the pitchers are getting tired. Flaherty is making a full game rehab start so he may (fingers crossed) be back soon.
In last night's game, Ozzie Smith paid Tommy Edman the greatest compliment a Cardinal player could ever hope to get, he said, "He could have played with us."
@@spiderreed350 I am well aware of that, since I have followed the Cardinals since 1960. I remember the Bill White, Julian Javier, Ken Boyer, and Daryl Spencer infield. Why do you feel the need to attempt to diminish the complement given to Edman?
@@rickbruner5525 I'm surprised that Ozzie would say that because I'm my opinion he took a shot at Tommy Herr by saying he could have played with us is saying that Edman is a better player than Herr was and I don't think that's right.Ozzie normally would take the high road in that spot.but I'm not putting Edman down at all,I like his game.
@@spiderreed350 Edman is the #1 rated defensive player in the majors (ahead of both Arenado and Goldsmith), he has speed and the ability to play all infield and all three outfield positions. He shows occasional power and is an excellent base stealer. I don't think he was saying that Edman would have replaced Tommy Herr, but that he is good enough to have been a part of that team.
I'm liking this Cards 2nd Baseman Thomas Edman,he's right out of the Cardinals mold, gritty, tough,he seems to do it the Redbird way. I believe there set at 2nd for the next 7 years or so.
Cards infield is pretty much set for the next say 5-7 years with Goldy being the senior member at 34,Arenado is 31,Edmin is 27 and Dejong is 29...Maybe not DeJong,he's having a terrible year.
What??? Goldschmidt has probably two years of elite baseball left, and then another two as a good but not great first baseman. And I say that as a lifelong Diamondbacks fan and huge supporter of Goldy's. Heck, Paul DeJong probably won't be a big-league starter four years from now.
Great so see the Cardinals win...but this team would be much further ahead without having Dejong in the lineup. He is the worst offensive shortstop I have seen in a long time
He had a monster season a couple of years ago. For some reason he has never been able to get close to that form again. Maybe the Cardinals are betting on him finding it this ofseason

Edman has some pop. Especially from the right side.

Tommy eddy a great player
Notice immediately after his HR he was in the dugout reviewing video of the pitch, his swing, etc. That's why he will have a long career.
