I grew up here over 25 years ago. Almost 40 now, moved around and ended up in California. I remember Daniel Street Elementary School, and the walk to school from North Greene Ave when I was a kid. I'll never forget that town.
The bad elements aren't only in Lindenhurst, they're everywhere. Heroin has taken hold of the suseptible youth across the island. Lindenhurst is still a beautiful town. Just for the record to clear up any confusion it's the Town of LINDENHURST, however if you live within a certain proximity of Wellwood Ave. I believe Broadway and Delaware are the east and west boundaries you are considered in the incorporated village or LINDENHURST. So everyone is right partially.
JasonLdee102 . No i didnt just time for us to leave and move on with life..born and raised on the island..still have many family member's there.Lindy was my home but west babylon was my other home as well as copiauge and north babylon.
I lived in lived in Lindenhurst until I was 26, then moved upstate, my father owned a paint store on 183 Wellwood Ave "Nagy's Paintorium", next to Bankerts meat market, Graduated high school in 61", MY God where did the time go, I'm 78 now, Beautiful video Jason, Thank you
Very nice - grew up in North Lindy. Went to Rall. Graduated in 1979. My favorite time was being in the Color Guard, part of the marching band with Mr. Kahn. Good times. Wow a 7-11 where Friendly's used to be. It was a great town to grow up in. Escaped the taxes and snow and now just south of Myrtle Beach, SC.
Please I miss being here. I grew up here. I went to Albany avenue as a kid, Lindy hs as a teen. I lived right on 45th street. I'd give anything to go back. Please if anyone has a room to rent in this town. Reach out. I have 5 years to live cause of congestive heart failure. I want to spend those last few years where I grew up
Don't ever go to the super cuts here in lindenhurst.theu messed up my hair big time.and it was the day before I started middle school. I had to straighten my hair everyday till half of the year of 6th grade.and I have to put up my hair now but my hair is still to short to put down or I look rlly weird.
The rainbow Senior center used to be an elementary school. I went there for a few years, then they built a new school and we all went transferred there. Obviously a long long time ago.
It's in the town of Babylon but it's still the town of Lindenhurst. ..I've never heard it called the VILLAGE of north Lindenhurst. ....or the VILLAGE of deer park or Amityville. ..I love my childhood memories growing up there...but it has become a seriously drug riddled town with to many bad elements moving in!!!!! Glad to be away from there....
Lindenhurst is not a town, it's an incorporated village in the Town of Babylon. Please stop calling villages and hamlets and cities: towns. I spent over 30 years in Lindenhurst.

Used to be a Friendly's.
I grew up there. My friends mom was a realtor and she sold Pat Benatar's house for her, after she hit it big. We thought that was so cool at the time.
FYI ,,, there’s a 9/11 Memorial at Phyllis Pond next to the baseball field.

Lindenhurst is the village ,,, the town is Babylon.
Yes, but In the last 20 years I've heard maybe a total of five people call it The Village other then The Town. There's no harm in that.
I call it the village
