- In this video I hike to Dürnstein Castle in Austria on a sunny Saturday in spring. Located in the wonderful Wachau Valley in Austria, the town and the castle are a famous tourist spot.
After following the road through the old town of Dürnstein, I take a somewhat hidden passage to get to the Danube river. Sadly, I couldn't access the town's famous blue church due to ongoing construction works.
After that I follow the path leading up to the old stronghold. The hike to Dürnstein Castle didn't take very long, even though the way was quite steep. The amazing view over the Wachau Valley was well worth the effort. The Wachau Valley in Austria is a beautiful landscape formed by the Danue River. It's know for the excellent white wines growing in the area.
Dürnstein in Austria is also the place where English king Richard the Lionheart was imprisoned when returning from the holy crusade.

Dürnstein castle ruin definitely is a great place to visit for its fantastic view.

Very nice video from a very nice place. I like the small streets, especially the ones that seem dedicated to pedestrians and the views from the hill are spectacular.
Thanks a lot :-) In summer it can get a little bit packed with tourists but it's still a great place to visit.
