just the teaser being made from such an unexpected point of view makes me think that arcane will keep on being great and well-written trough season two because often the downfall of a tv-show begins at cash-grab marketing and storytelling and not having any favourite or major characters here proves that arcane is going for interesting and new writing over relying on fan-favourites
Since league aims to make many seasons of Arcane, and that they think of going out of Piltover/Zaun around season 3, I think they really make it so that the show isn't carried on the back of a couple loved-characters only but by the storytelling in a wider sense and the world of Runeterra, to make sure audience will stick to it once an ark ends and another begins.
I legit did a quiet scream of joy in the middle of a public space upon seeing this had been dropped and when everybody instantly looked I was not even embarrassed like this is a national holiday
I think we could see some interplay between Ekko and Victor because of Heimerdinger. I can see Victor descending into Glorious Revolution as Heimerdinger’s failure as a father, and Ekko as Heimerdinger’s redemption as a parent.
This is a very interesting teaser in another way, too. Because it uses Warwick as a safe bet to pique our curiosity without revealing too much, seeing as most people are already expecting Warwick and him being Vander anyway. Pretty efficient teaser-making.

to me, this teaser confirms Orianna being Singed's daughter. not just the focus on him holding the locket but the music and background sound doesn't really make you think of Singed and Warwick, it's more like Orianna, a clockwork ballerina.
This! 3 seconds of the trailer in I saw it all: Singed holding a locket with music box song playing in the background - and I was like OH YEAH ORIANNA CONFIRMED. Only then to jump into the comments and see 0 mentions of Orianna there. Glad I'm not the only one. It's such an evident clue I'm pretty shocked so few people grabbed it.
@@mkmc94Corin Reveck was important to Orianna's story. I think the clock ticking theory is nice but I still don't believe it's her, and I don't think it really would be good for either Singed or her if it was imo.
I hope it isn't Orianna. We don't need every character connected like that. It feels less organic when everything circles back to the same set of antag/protagonists.

@@sirbobulous youre thinking about it wrong. Think about it this way: Singed had a daughter, and just so happens his daughter is another champion. Not the other way round, where another champion is connected to singed.
Singed's daughter is Orianna I'm pretty sure at least she is what Orianna is based on and with the key words of augmentation and war and also the heavier presence of Singed I think we are going to see a lot more of his creations in this season not just Warwick/Orianna
some people say that "singed isn't ori's father, her father is corin reveck!" ... but, do they even know singed's real name? he could be corin and he switched from being an artificer to a chemist after ori "died" or kept on ice like rio...but that's just a theory...a game theory...ok, I'll let myself out now.
I don't believe that Corin is Singed. Singed's area of expertise is biological experiments, and he is not known for his mechanical work like Orianna is. If Singed were to be Orianna's father, he would have made her less robotic and retained more human characteristics. Moreover, Corin Reveck is seen in Convergence, a game that has a significant impact on the lore. Riot is trying to make Arcane canon, and Convergence is already canon. Therefore, it would disrupt the lore if Singed were to be made Orianna's father.

It’s still funny to me how Singed is lowkey to most influential character in League’s lore, even more so with how Arcane is shaping up. I just knew him as the funny meme champ I’d pick to mess with the other team.
He was something of a mentor to Viktor, his work with Silco first keeps Silco healthy, then invents Shimmer which allows Silco's moves and changes the whole power balance of the Underground (the other half of that being the explosion), Shimmer is being exported internationally which probably does something, he gives Viktor what he needs to begin his "glorious evolution", he keeps Jinx alive and gives her superpowers, he's kept Vander alive and given him monster powers, unspecified past break with Heimerdinger... yeah, really influential mostly-behind-the-scenes support character. Arcane's good like that.
I think Nightmarish is also interesting as a wording. The first thing I think about when I hear Nightmare in context with League is the old Nocturne lore
Agree, was shocked this was the first footage we see, but it's also one of the last images we saw in that brief montage of images during "What Could Have Been" in the finale. While I quit playing LoL, I was glad to hear they made Momma Medarda into an actual champion, but I honestly am shocked it wasn't Sevika first- as a champion it makes ways more sense, and to be fair we've seen what kind of fighter she is and the no-quit/keeps on coming focus she has. It would be a shame if she never gets championed, maybe she'll be next.
I agree! + It’ll be interesting to see how they present Ambessa & if one can figure out their (riot) decision to make her a champion before/instead of Sevika! (Personally I’m very happy for them to add another Black woman champion so I don’t have too much ‘critique’, just curious)
They did a great job with Singed, every aspect of that man is creepy as hell. His voice, his face, his lair, the things he does; it's like they pulled him out of a horror movie. I can't wait to see my man get some time in the spotlight. Seeing Singed and Warwick like this makes me think about how the lore of the world has changed. Today, Singed is the one who creates Warwick. Before Riot revamped the lore, Warwick was actually Singed's boss until Soraka turned him into a werewolf.
I am so curious how many people will have survived the finale explosion though. For obvious reasons we know Viktor and Jayce survive, but everyone else is pretty much on the chopping block. I can see Mel dying because it would only fuel Ambessa's motivations more. I'm unsure about Cassandra Kiramman. And no one really cares for the rest of the council. They're unimportant as individual characters. I think between Mel and Cassandra, whether they live or die will tell us a lot about how the season will go.
It's going to be really interesting to see how they'll fit Singed and Warwick into this continuing story. His League lore implies he could end up a sort of violent Zaun vigilante, terrorizing its criminal underworld and that could well be true. I think back to what Silco said after Vander tore through his men and attacked him; "I knew you still had it in you." and I imagine that'll be a significant part of his characterization in this season. Maybe he sees where his pacifism got the Undercity and let's say overcorrects. And with Singed, his daughter can't just be a dead end fuelling random acts of resurrection. The random creature he was desperate to keep living may have a point beyond the thematic. It would be funny if there were an existing League Of Legends champion from Zaun who happened to be a little girl who after falling ill was kept alive/resurrected using robotics... Honestly though, I'm just ready for the Arcane team to blow my mind again.
The Rubicon reference is also interesting to me not just for the "war" reference, but the type of war being waged. The Rubicon was the river that marked the boundary of the city of Rome and, prior to Caesar, no Roman general had ever marched on his own city. Not sure if my classicist is showing here, but one hotly debated theory is that the decision to cross the Rubicon was as much a power-grab as it was an act of self-preservation, as the Senate may have been trying to prosecute Caesar to remove him from power. Regardless of its historical truth, "crossing the Rubicon" became a statement of no return, but also one of civil war as a means of defense. Read through the lens of Arcane, the Rubicon might signify the river dividing Zahn and Piltover, where we see the morality of offense-as-defense as a key theme in season 1.
I really hope the teaser focusing on Singed and Warwick is a hint towards Singed playing a more prominent role in this season as well as being the Arcane VGU that Rito mentioned.
Given how brief and character centric this was, I suspect we'll be getting a few more of these short little teasers showcasing other characters and elements of Season 2 before Novemeber.
I hope we get some flashbacks of specifically Vander and Powder. We know so little about their relationship, and they share like one line a dialogue with each other. I wanna see what made Vander's parenting so much less affective on Powder than Vi's. The small interactions they do have a pretty sweet. When he's carrying the girls and Powder seems to be sleeping in his arms (implying a feeling of safety between them) and when he gives her (what i assume is) juice at the bar when she's sad. There's no talking, but based on Vander's surprise at Powder's lack of interest in the drink, hints that these moments are recurring to some degree. I honestly love the concept of Powder's touchy nature with Silco, might subconsciously stem from both her relationship with Vi (ofc) but also Vander. Vi and Powder were touchy, they hugged, touched each other's faces, but there was always an underlying sibling dynamic within their physical affection. We never *see* them cuddle like Jinx would cuddle up to Silco, or how she cuddled in Vander's arms while leaving the bridge. This was very long winded, but the point is, I personally wanna see what kind of depth Powder and Vander's relationship had, and how that might dictate their responses to each other in their new forms.
The music box backing track totally feeds into the Orianna = Singed's daughter/Singed = Corin Reveck theory!!! Orianna's bio is one of the best stories from the LoL universe I absolutely cannot contain my excitement for this HUAAAAHHH
If "How War Changes People" as at all a major theme for Season 2, Singed actually really works for being our first mascot/harbinger of the season. Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but Noxus invaded a continent called Ionia around the same-ish time as Arcane's events, and Singed is instrumental in that war as he's the supplier for the chemical warfare Noxus unleashed upon Ionia. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see a scene where he and Ambessa interact.
We’re definitely getting a big peek behind the curtains with this revel. Up until that moment I expected this to be an anthology series where we jumped around to a new location with a totally new cast each season, just so LoL could cram in as many champions as possible. But with the focus being on Singed and Warwick (and the child’s music box) they are remaining in Piltover/ Zaun, and family/ parenthood feels like it’s gonna be a main focus.

I truly enjoy how Arcane has tied the League of Legends lore into the show- it's not one-for-one and thats perfect. It keeps us on our toes with guessing whats gonna happen and how the story is gonna go but we still know OG lore things are gonna be happening like Singed making Warwick. Maybe we get Orianna, Viktor and Jayce are clearly a different characters but that doesnt mean their story wont have any similar ties.
God even in this less than minute teaser, the animation here is so clean and fluid and pretty! I wonder what this seasons budget was, s1 had a shockingly small budget, and yet that was a masterpiece of animation. Now, will hopefully a few ten more million euros/dollars has given the team even more time to hone their lovely craft.

He has a lot to say in every vid, and *every drop of it is relevant* to the point he's making. One of his best (for me) was his vid diving into Ekko being the 3rd choice between the two extremes.
Seeing how Singed daughter looks like Orianna. I really hope they show her as well. Maybe season 2 finale has teaser to both Orianna and Blitz being build and probably more Piltover and Zaun heroes appearing.

Having a “side character“ from the first season be the entire focus of the teaser was also the first thing I noticed! Excellent analysis, I absolutely can’t wait for season two.
I have a strong feeling about Singed for season 2, even if I don't have much concrete evidence to prove it. I believe what they're setting up with the locket and his daughter in S1 and this teaser is not a tragic family backstory, but a subversion of a tragic family backstory. The subversion being this won't make Singed more sympathetic, but actually a lot darker. My main reason for this comes from a more meta level of Singed's importance in the game. Despite his smaller role, Singed is a champion just like Vi, Jayce, Jinx etc. I think, especially after this teaser, that he's undoubtedly playing a more major role this time and will be treated much closer to what the rest of the champion characters got. With that in mind, season 2 could essentially be the true introduction we get for him, same as we will be truly introduced to Warwick. Arcane has made changes to the champions before but they always kept the core idea of them firmly in place. Where Singed stands out from the rest of the Arcane champions though, is that he's by far the most twisted, dark and downright evil from them, and it's pretty essential to his whole appeal. I think the daughter backstory is the perfect tool to tell the audience "Hey, this guy is no side character anymore, he's a very big deal", tell it in a horrific but very memorable way and to properly introduce who the character is. Do not be fooled, he may be lacking in sympathy but he is still very interesting.
Singed will likely ally with Void Viktor as his daughter isn't a cyborg and the only thing shown to do it is the hex core. the Video also shows Singed is un well and likly dying and maybe using WW to buy time. arcane kinda puts evil is subjective and anyone who is pure white or black gets punished heavily. Like singed has saved more lives then any of the white hero's.
I do hope they go down the "science at any cost for the sake of progress" route with his character, it seems like thats what they were setting him up as in season 1 and I'd hate to see him just be evil for evils sake I haven't read the league lore so I don't really know what his characters like there though
@@hibilbo4755 That's exactly the way he is in the league lore. A theme like that will naturally result in him being quite dark and, by our standards, quite evil. Singed's very evil but it's rooted in a very real thing of pursuit of science without any moral bounds.

I wonder if maybe Vander did actually fully die, and Singed brought him back to life...sorta, in the form of Warwick. Not entirely like a zombie, but maybe something not too far off. And he's basically a new character, maybe more animalistic, or sof ar from his old self that he can't be saved in any way. I feel like that would fit Singed's theme and character, and would also be enough of a curveball rather than "oh, Vander actually is alive", or "he can still be saved". Idk, I just hope it isn't actually as simple as we think it is.

I don't really know who that is, but I saw another comment say there was a reference to her. When Vi was trying to cheer up Powder on the rooftop and she looks at her bunny toy that was stuck on the power line she says something like "I stared hoping a bird or a gust of wind would knock it down"
I wonder if Singed will become kind of the new Silco, maybe that pushes Jinx into even more of a lone villain status as Vi will also move away from her, no one in Piltover or Zaun would accept her
I merely broke my mouse just to click on the Teaser early. I like that how this first teaser is going to emphasizes something more personal but something more sinister as well. I actually hope Singed becomes less humanized as a contrast to Arcane's cast, what if he caused his daughter's death but it's his regret that makes him feel human.
IDK if this is very deep or anything. But I noticed that the whole theme of Singed's experiments revolve around transcending death. Most likely because "he used to have a daughter". _"The specimen must survive",_ helping a _dying_ Viktor complete his experiment. There is even a chance that Vander actually died. like *DIED* died, and Singed brought him back to life. If that's the case, along with the "forced change" themes, one of the themes bight be "letting go of the past". Vi letting go of who Jinx was, both letting go of who Warwick was, Singed letting go of his daughter and his experiments and building Orianna, Viktor letting go of his current experimental ethics. Some people are gone and other people changed and they will explore what that does to people and how they respond.
Absolutely love the excitement and appreciate the tag on this one! It's quite heartbreaking knowing who that monster really is, but seeing that you don't know, I figure it's best that you find out once they openly reveal it

We actually already had a small teaser for season 2 back in November. Fortiche posted a short clip of Jinx walking away from the camera into a red haze, which is revealed to be the bridge between Piltover and Zaun. There's fire raining down from the sky that overlaps the camera, and we hear far off screaming. Jinx is humming the "Dear Friend Across the River" tune
Given that Vander is transformed into Warwick, I wouldn't be surprised if its a Tusk situation where Vander is augmented to look like a nightmarish werewolf monster

3:05 Singed and Vander are going to play a scene in the war. Singed has history with Noxus in his lore. He is with vander is the father that died leaving behind his daughters. There is a parallel with that with Singed keeping his daughter alive and he is slowly dying because of that. Mel's mother is going to approach Singed.

I.... oh boy. I don't play League, and so I didn't know who Warwick was. This gave me CHILLS. But honestly? Not a bad way to find out at all. I'm glad it was in a context like this, where the information matters and carries weight.
One thing I’ve come to realize about Singed in the show (dunno about the game lore) is that he doesn’t let anything/anyone stay dead/die. Rio, Viktor, Jinx, possibly his daughter, and now Vander. As for what season two will be about, you’re probably right on it being about dark parents. Last season, we got to see how different all the parents were; now, we’ll probably see what happens if you throw amnesia into the mix.
Augmented makes me think more of 2 "enhanced" characters we have yet to see come into their own. Im expecting Victor to turn more to his LoL self and be an antagonist to Jayce. And we have yet to see Urgot. The reason i think war isnt yet specified is because i expect that to be either the season finale or cliffhanger. Maybe when Zaun and Piltover are in shambles, only then Noxus shows up. As a bridge into stories about the other regions of runeterra.
And if the "it has to be you" that we heard from the mouth of Jinx in the vocal of the S2 announcement of arcane and the apparent distress of Vi, it was about Vander/Warwick and the need to team up to kill/finish off this monster that their adoptive father has become? In any case, this new season still promises a lot of emotions and as you say, I hope for depth in the characterization, of known characters, to be discovered or only touched upon. I'm eager to ! I just realized the painting of the Noxian boat that Mel was paint, looks a lot like the Red Sail boat in saint Petersburg which is symbol for Highschool graduates in Russia. This might be foreshadowing for season 2 in some way. You should look into it further :)
Augmentation ofc Viktor too. Singed focus even more compounded by them teasing a rework (VGU) for an arcane character. And singed is the most dated model in the roster AFAIK.

Idk about you all but I want to see a short scene in the beginning of jinx blowing up Silco’s corpse (I hope vi or the gang leaders don’t get it) and maybe a small flashback that then inspires her further on. I know season one was about her finally getting ready to become her own person but like most people she may end up frightened and needing to go back to something familiar. It could be some final closure for the audience
I just rewatched your video on predictions for season 2 and I was wondering two things 1. Ambessa is being added onto League, and while the people who work at Riot have said they are not opposed to the idea of a character being dead in the lore but still being playable I'm not sure if Ambessa is really going to die, especially when she can be the bridge to a third season focused on Noxus. Also since Singed is tied to Noxus in the lore and Ambessa is looking for weapons, I wouldn't be surprised if she met Singed at some point in season 2. 2. You've mention new champions that could show up on season two, however none of those you mentioned have an established connection with the current cast, which makes me think that Blitzcrank is the most likely to show up. In the lore they (Blitzcrank's pronouns are they/them btw) was built by Viktor to protect the people of Zaun from accidents, and they would fit perfectly in the middle of this conflict between Pullover and Zaun and all the casualties on the Zaun side. Blitzcrank can be a physical representation of Viktor's selflessness BEFORE he goes full metal.

to me, this teaser confirms Orianna being Singed's daughter. not just the focus on him holding the locket but the music and background sound doesn't really make you think of Singed and Warwick, it's more like Orianna, a clockwork ballerina.

This! 3 seconds of the trailer in I saw it all: Singed holding a locket with music box song playing in the background - and I was like OH YEAH ORIANNA CONFIRMED. Only then to jump into the comments and see 0 mentions of Orianna there. Glad I'm not the only one. It's such an evident clue I'm pretty shocked so few people grabbed it.

Singed is the character who probably has the most connections to characters in his time in the lore
@@sirbobulous youre thinking about it wrong. Think about it this way: Singed had a daughter, and just so happens his daughter is another champion. Not the other way round, where another champion is connected to singed.
Singed's daughter is Orianna I'm pretty sure at least she is what Orianna is based on and with the key words of augmentation and war and also the heavier presence of Singed I think we are going to see a lot more of his creations in this season not just Warwick/Orianna

I don't believe that Corin is Singed. Singed's area of expertise is biological experiments, and he is not known for his mechanical work like Orianna is. If Singed were to be Orianna's father, he would have made her less robotic and retained more human characteristics. Moreover, Corin Reveck is seen in Convergence, a game that has a significant impact on the lore. Riot is trying to make Arcane canon, and Convergence is already canon. Therefore, it would disrupt the lore if Singed were to be made Orianna's father.

It’s still funny to me how Singed is lowkey to most influential character in League’s lore, even more so with how Arcane is shaping up. I just knew him as the funny meme champ I’d pick to mess with the other team.
He was something of a mentor to Viktor, his work with Silco first keeps Silco healthy, then invents Shimmer which allows Silco's moves and changes the whole power balance of the Underground (the other half of that being the explosion), Shimmer is being exported internationally which probably does something, he gives Viktor what he needs to begin his "glorious evolution", he keeps Jinx alive and gives her superpowers, he's kept Vander alive and given him monster powers, unspecified past break with Heimerdinger... yeah, really influential mostly-behind-the-scenes support character. Arcane's good like that.

Agree, was shocked this was the first footage we see, but it's also one of the last images we saw in that brief montage of images during "What Could Have Been" in the finale. While I quit playing LoL, I was glad to hear they made Momma Medarda into an actual champion, but I honestly am shocked it wasn't Sevika first- as a champion it makes ways more sense, and to be fair we've seen what kind of fighter she is and the no-quit/keeps on coming focus she has. It would be a shame if she never gets championed, maybe she'll be next.

They did a great job with Singed, every aspect of that man is creepy as hell. His voice, his face, his lair, the things he does; it's like they pulled him out of a horror movie. I can't wait to see my man get some time in the spotlight.
Seeing Singed and Warwick like this makes me think about how the lore of the world has changed. Today, Singed is the one who creates Warwick. Before Riot revamped the lore, Warwick was actually Singed's boss until Soraka turned him into a werewolf.
I am so curious how many people will have survived the finale explosion though. For obvious reasons we know Viktor and Jayce survive, but everyone else is pretty much on the chopping block. I can see Mel dying because it would only fuel Ambessa's motivations more. I'm unsure about Cassandra Kiramman. And no one really cares for the rest of the council. They're unimportant as individual characters. I think between Mel and Cassandra, whether they live or die will tell us a lot about how the season will go.

It's going to be really interesting to see how they'll fit Singed and Warwick into this continuing story. His League lore implies he could end up a sort of violent Zaun vigilante, terrorizing its criminal underworld and that could well be true. I think back to what Silco said after Vander tore through his men and attacked him; "I knew you still had it in you." and I imagine that'll be a significant part of his characterization in this season. Maybe he sees where his pacifism got the Undercity and let's say overcorrects.
And with Singed, his daughter can't just be a dead end fuelling random acts of resurrection. The random creature he was desperate to keep living may have a point beyond the thematic. It would be funny if there were an existing League Of Legends champion from Zaun who happened to be a little girl who after falling ill was kept alive/resurrected using robotics...
Honestly though, I'm just ready for the Arcane team to blow my mind again.
The Rubicon reference is also interesting to me not just for the "war" reference, but the type of war being waged. The Rubicon was the river that marked the boundary of the city of Rome and, prior to Caesar, no Roman general had ever marched on his own city. Not sure if my classicist is showing here, but one hotly debated theory is that the decision to cross the Rubicon was as much a power-grab as it was an act of self-preservation, as the Senate may have been trying to prosecute Caesar to remove him from power. Regardless of its historical truth, "crossing the Rubicon" became a statement of no return, but also one of civil war as a means of defense. Read through the lens of Arcane, the Rubicon might signify the river dividing Zahn and Piltover, where we see the morality of offense-as-defense as a key theme in season 1.

I really hope the teaser focusing on Singed and Warwick is a hint towards Singed playing a more prominent role in this season as well as being the Arcane VGU that Rito mentioned.
Given how brief and character centric this was, I suspect we'll be getting a few more of these short little teasers showcasing other characters and elements of Season 2 before Novemeber.
I hope we get some flashbacks of specifically Vander and Powder. We know so little about their relationship, and they share like one line a dialogue with each other. I wanna see what made Vander's parenting so much less affective on Powder than Vi's. The small interactions they do have a pretty sweet. When he's carrying the girls and Powder seems to be sleeping in his arms (implying a feeling of safety between them) and when he gives her (what i assume is) juice at the bar when she's sad. There's no talking, but based on Vander's surprise at Powder's lack of interest in the drink, hints that these moments are recurring to some degree. I honestly love the concept of Powder's touchy nature with Silco, might subconsciously stem from both her relationship with Vi (ofc) but also Vander. Vi and Powder were touchy, they hugged, touched each other's faces, but there was always an underlying sibling dynamic within their physical affection. We never *see* them cuddle like Jinx would cuddle up to Silco, or how she cuddled in Vander's arms while leaving the bridge.
This was very long winded, but the point is, I personally wanna see what kind of depth Powder and Vander's relationship had, and how that might dictate their responses to each other in their new forms.
The music box backing track totally feeds into the Orianna = Singed's daughter/Singed = Corin Reveck theory!!! Orianna's bio is one of the best stories from the LoL universe I absolutely cannot contain my excitement for this HUAAAAHHH
If "How War Changes People" as at all a major theme for Season 2, Singed actually really works for being our first mascot/harbinger of the season. Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but Noxus invaded a continent called Ionia around the same-ish time as Arcane's events, and Singed is instrumental in that war as he's the supplier for the chemical warfare Noxus unleashed upon Ionia. I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see a scene where he and Ambessa interact.

We’re definitely getting a big peek behind the curtains with this revel. Up until that moment I expected this to be an anthology series where we jumped around to a new location with a totally new cast each season, just so LoL could cram in as many champions as possible. But with the focus being on Singed and Warwick (and the child’s music box) they are remaining in Piltover/ Zaun, and family/ parenthood feels like it’s gonna be a main focus.
You talking about necessary change due to the pressures of the future IMMEDIATELY made me think of the episode title “base violence necessary for change”

I truly enjoy how Arcane has tied the League of Legends lore into the show- it's not one-for-one and thats perfect. It keeps us on our toes with guessing whats gonna happen and how the story is gonna go but we still know OG lore things are gonna be happening like Singed making Warwick. Maybe we get Orianna, Viktor and Jayce are clearly a different characters but that doesnt mean their story wont have any similar ties.

God even in this less than minute teaser, the animation here is so clean and fluid and pretty! I wonder what this seasons budget was, s1 had a shockingly small budget, and yet that was a masterpiece of animation. Now, will hopefully a few ten more million euros/dollars has given the team even more time to hone their lovely craft.

Having a “side character“ from the first season be the entire focus of the teaser was also the first thing I noticed! Excellent analysis, I absolutely can’t wait for season two.
I have a strong feeling about Singed for season 2, even if I don't have much concrete evidence to prove it. I believe what they're setting up with the locket and his daughter in S1 and this teaser is not a tragic family backstory, but a subversion of a tragic family backstory. The subversion being this won't make Singed more sympathetic, but actually a lot darker.
My main reason for this comes from a more meta level of Singed's importance in the game. Despite his smaller role, Singed is a champion just like Vi, Jayce, Jinx etc.
I think, especially after this teaser, that he's undoubtedly playing a more major role this time and will be treated much closer to what the rest of the champion characters got. With that in mind, season 2 could essentially be the true introduction we get for him, same as we will be truly introduced to Warwick. Arcane has made changes to the champions before but they always kept the core idea of them firmly in place. Where Singed stands out from the rest of the Arcane champions though, is that he's by far the most twisted, dark and downright evil from them, and it's pretty essential to his whole appeal. I think the daughter backstory is the perfect tool to tell the audience "Hey, this guy is no side character anymore, he's a very big deal", tell it in a horrific but very memorable way and to properly introduce who the character is. Do not be fooled, he may be lacking in sympathy but he is still very interesting.
Singed will likely ally with Void Viktor as his daughter isn't a cyborg and the only thing shown to do it is the hex core. the Video also shows Singed is un well and likly dying and maybe using WW to buy time.
arcane kinda puts evil is subjective and anyone who is pure white or black gets punished heavily. Like singed has saved more lives then any of the white hero's.
I do hope they go down the "science at any cost for the sake of progress" route with his character, it seems like thats what they were setting him up as in season 1 and I'd hate to see him just be evil for evils sake
I haven't read the league lore so I don't really know what his characters like there though
@@hibilbo4755 That's exactly the way he is in the league lore. A theme like that will naturally result in him being quite dark and, by our standards, quite evil. Singed's very evil but it's rooted in a very real thing of pursuit of science without any moral bounds.

I wonder if maybe Vander did actually fully die, and Singed brought him back to life...sorta, in the form of Warwick. Not entirely like a zombie, but maybe something not too far off. And he's basically a new character, maybe more animalistic, or sof ar from his old self that he can't be saved in any way. I feel like that would fit Singed's theme and character, and would also be enough of a curveball rather than "oh, Vander actually is alive", or "he can still be saved". Idk, I just hope it isn't actually as simple as we think it is.

I merely broke my mouse just to click on the Teaser early. I like that how this first teaser is going to emphasizes something more personal but something more sinister as well. I actually hope Singed becomes less humanized as a contrast to Arcane's cast, what if he caused his daughter's death but it's his regret that makes him feel human.

IDK if this is very deep or anything. But I noticed that the whole theme of Singed's experiments revolve around transcending death. Most likely because "he used to have a daughter". _"The specimen must survive",_ helping a _dying_ Viktor complete his experiment. There is even a chance that Vander actually died. like *DIED* died, and Singed brought him back to life.
If that's the case, along with the "forced change" themes, one of the themes bight be "letting go of the past". Vi letting go of who Jinx was, both letting go of who Warwick was, Singed letting go of his daughter and his experiments and building Orianna, Viktor letting go of his current experimental ethics. Some people are gone and other people changed and they will explore what that does to people and how they respond.
Sincerly, knowing how well worked and how short Arcane is, ik each second matters so i belive just a lil scene can show us a lot of information

We actually already had a small teaser for season 2 back in November. Fortiche posted a short clip of Jinx walking away from the camera into a red haze, which is revealed to be the bridge between Piltover and Zaun. There's fire raining down from the sky that overlaps the camera, and we hear far off screaming. Jinx is humming the "Dear Friend Across the River" tune

3:05 Singed and Vander are going to play a scene in the war. Singed has history with Noxus in his lore. He is with vander is the father that died leaving behind his daughters. There is a parallel with that with Singed keeping his daughter alive and he is slowly dying because of that.

I.... oh boy. I don't play League, and so I didn't know who Warwick was. This gave me CHILLS. But honestly? Not a bad way to find out at all. I'm glad it was in a context like this, where the information matters and carries weight.
One thing I’ve come to realize about Singed in the show (dunno about the game lore) is that he doesn’t let anything/anyone stay dead/die. Rio, Viktor, Jinx, possibly his daughter, and now Vander.
As for what season two will be about, you’re probably right on it being about dark parents. Last season, we got to see how different all the parents were; now, we’ll probably see what happens if you throw amnesia into the mix.
Augmented makes me think more of 2 "enhanced" characters we have yet to see come into their own. Im expecting Victor to turn more to his LoL self and be an antagonist to Jayce. And we have yet to see Urgot.
The reason i think war isnt yet specified is because i expect that to be either the season finale or cliffhanger.
Maybe when Zaun and Piltover are in shambles, only then Noxus shows up. As a bridge into stories about the other regions of runeterra.
And if the "it has to be you" that we heard from the mouth of Jinx in the vocal of the S2 announcement of arcane and the apparent distress of Vi, it was about Vander/Warwick and the need to team up to kill/finish off this monster that their adoptive father has become?
In any case, this new season still promises a lot of emotions and as you say, I hope for depth in the characterization, of known characters, to be discovered or only touched upon. I'm eager to !

I just realized the painting of the Noxian boat that Mel was paint, looks a lot like the Red Sail boat in saint Petersburg which is symbol for Highschool graduates in Russia. This might be foreshadowing for season 2 in some way. You should look into it further :)
Augmentation ofc Viktor too. Singed focus even more compounded by them teasing a rework (VGU) for an arcane character. And singed is the most dated model in the roster AFAIK.

You could try a different approach like "Daughter of Singed". I keep getting reminded how funny the English language can be since it provides so many different words and phrasings to convey the same message.
Idk about you all but I want to see a short scene in the beginning of jinx blowing up Silco’s corpse (I hope vi or the gang leaders don’t get it) and maybe a small flashback that then inspires her further on. I know season one was about her finally getting ready to become her own person but like most people she may end up frightened and needing to go back to something familiar. It could be some final closure for the audience

I just rewatched your video on predictions for season 2 and I was wondering two things
1. Ambessa is being added onto League, and while the people who work at Riot have said they are not opposed to the idea of a character being dead in the lore but still being playable I'm not sure if Ambessa is really going to die, especially when she can be the bridge to a third season focused on Noxus. Also since Singed is tied to Noxus in the lore and Ambessa is looking for weapons, I wouldn't be surprised if she met Singed at some point in season 2.
2. You've mention new champions that could show up on season two, however none of those you mentioned have an established connection with the current cast, which makes me think that Blitzcrank is the most likely to show up. In the lore they (Blitzcrank's pronouns are they/them btw) was built by Viktor to protect the people of Zaun from accidents, and they would fit perfectly in the middle of this conflict between Pullover and Zaun and all the casualties on the Zaun side. Blitzcrank can be a physical representation of Viktor's selflessness BEFORE he goes full metal.

I've missed Schnee's channel so much: checking TH-cam religiously. But I never want to rush an artist. Like, we'll have a better result without asking "are we there yet" every 30 seconds.

Man, I love this channel so much. I saw the trailer and was like, that’s it? This doesn’t say anything. I am disappointed and devastated, and I have been played like a fool. But then I see that friend Schnee has made an analysis of it. Love it when big brain people share their thoughts with me :)))
