Yes NEW MEXICO. If you never seen this girl run now you have. New Mexico 7k+ elevation in sea level running hills in the sandias really does pay off. Great representative for NM.
Gianna Rahmer ran a technically perfect race. With her long loping stride combined with powerful arm swings and positioning strategies she is exhibiting the experience and strength of a much more mature athlete. She appears to enjoy highly competitive cross country running and has the desire to win every race, she could be a bright beacon on the horizon for USA distance running.
How is a 8th grader allowed to go to NXN as a middle schooler or even compete in this highschool event. Has 8th graders always been able to compete if there good enough
Great stuff. and an 8th grader winning well done.. I was going to jokingly say she had been cheating via the consuming of sweets/candy prior to running.. ahhahaha " we must ban sweets for runners" lol great stuff.

This happened a few times. I believe it has always been on the girls side.

Many states allow it and if the athlete is eligible for their HS team, they're eligible for NXN.
Don’t hate @nick5323 that she is an 8th grader! Give credit where it is due!!! Good job NM!
You see it a lot often in NM. Happens a lot in wrestling. Some go onto become 5 time state champions.
