Oooh man I got goosebumps just for being electric boat along and then learning the features and the controller and design of the boat! 👏🏼👏🏼 mind blowing guys. Insane tech and comfortable boat
Man, I just had this genius idea for an electric ski boat so I searched to see if it was a thing already. Well fuck me. Now I just want one of these. Fast charging tech at ski locations so you can recharge over lunch and this thing is perfect.
It’s a good first step I suppose. Probs need to get your hands on Tesla batteries so you can actually go on vacation with the boat. Definitely need to mention that it’s a green option- pretty sure I didn’t hear that at all, and you need a well spoken hot chick instead of the glasses wearing serial killer with ducks in the background lol. I’ll buy the boat in 15 years when it’s (hopefully) less than the house I’m living in.
@@brianpearl7504 Considering they need to burn coal plus all the other emissions just to create the battery people are unaware that these battery actually create more pollution than what they save...I'm not having a crack just plain simple fact. Now if they can have the boat run for 10 hours on a single charge, recharge within say 10mins which is the time it takes to refuel the boat well make it 20 if you have to run to the servo/gas station from the lake if you're on holiday/vacation.
Brian Pearl charging from my solar roof is green. And not sucking noxious fumes from the tailpipe is objectively better for my health. You find electric technology to be some kind of environmental regress?
Innovation is great and from what i know about electric cars. tesla model s 100kw battery =350miles this boat 124kw battery =3hrs. of course you have to account for the drastic resistance difference between the road and the water plus the weight of the car (5klbs) this boat has got to be 8-10klbs. realistically 3hrs on 124kw doesn't sound too bad for the size and weight/resistance of this big boat. Ill say they are on the right track and this a great attempt for an electric wake board boat. side note 124kw battery in a bass boat will probably get you 6-10hrs of range on the water. which would be really practical for most.
I kind of agree.....but towing the boat trailered with all that extra weight can also be a challenge. Gotta drop another $80k for a 1-ton truck and you’ll chew up trailer tires like mad. Lead ballast poses the same issue. Good thought though!
Awesome idea but I often do over 100km in a day and this doesn’t have the range I need. Love the idea though and it must be great not having the engine sound.
Awesome boat with progressive features for the industry. Maybe this will start pushing conventional wake boats down in price...wishful thinking I guess.
Just spent the day at the lake yesterday cruising around + tubing and kneeboarding. I checked my hour meter for the day and she was running 6 hours out of the 10 we spent on the water. I'm afraid electric just isn't there yet to be used in such a high drain/high resistance (water) environment.
Cool boat, but mostly for those who just go for the day or a few hours. This wouldn't work for many who, for example, tow their boats up to Lake Powell for a 5 day vacation and tie along the shore with their house boat.
3 hours is not enough time for my family. Also didn't mention charge time! This is great but not practical yet. If you have friends and family at the lake its a all day go go go day and I can't see myself wishing my boat didn't have to sit in the dock charging after a morning session when my friends wake up and want to go on a ride to some islands and tube or something. Hopefully getting better batteries and dropping the cost comes soon. need at least 6-8 hours to be competitive. IMO
Not for everybody. Its for the ultra rich that has their boat in the water all the time. Walk out of the door at your summer home on the water and your on the water in 5 minutes. Going out for just an hour or so is easy. If your trailer your boat to and from the lake for each use, gas rules by far. Edit: This boat starts at $300k USD...More than double that of the GS22. That's just insane.
ingenityelectric.com/ Link has more info from the drive system company. Would be great if they gave more info, I'm surprised that's all the run time they're getting
Make the top of the bimini a solar charging array, for the very least; limp mode to get back to the dock. Ideal for an hour out to the sand bar; solar charge all day and worry-free ride back home with the occasion surf/wake session throughout the day. Plus you have all that sq footage on the side of the boat to integrate solar charging, so it can grab those rays reflected off the surface of the water. A day on the water without all that engine noise/exhaust = count me in.
The new Sunreef Catamaran has a patented technology with flexible solar sheets on the sides & top of the boat. Also check out Silent Yachts catamarans; they've figured this whole marine solar thing out.
I wonder what kind of safety concerns plugging a 220V boat in while submerged in water pose? I guess it's about the same as filling up a 20gal tank of gasoline while on the water, but something about it just gives me an eerie feeling...Like what if you pull the plug out and accidentally drop it in the water??
Steven Wright that is what a gfci protects that must be installed on any outlet/power near moisture it immediately kills power when a shot to ground is sensed.
The big screen is nice but give me some damn buttons. When I'm ripping around a busy lake tryin to pay attention to other boats and whoever I'm towing I'm NOT going to touch my way through menu's to find the setting I need to adjust. That's a PITA and not safe.
Once you get the knob on the side dialed down it’s way easier than buttons. After 1 season with our G23 I never had to look at the screen it was all from muscle memory after that
thats what I was thinking, maybe if they make a 24ft one it might have more, I could only think of it as being practical if you live on a lake and go for short morning, noon or afternoon sessions
@@justinoneill2837 Watersports are not the main draw on the system. Pushing a 5,000lb boat through high resistance water is the issue. The 180lb dude on a set of skis doesn't mean much. I'd be surprised if all you would gain from just cruising would be more than 5% total runtime improvement.

Lol dude do you have any idea how heavy the batteries are? A 50 pound battery would give you...15 minutes of runtime, if you're lucky? And cost several thousand dollars. And likely need cooling.
300v batteries are heavy run integral cooling jackets require a winch to remove are about $30,000 and any disconnect is dangerous requiring a two person system with a fiberglass Sheppards hook and one hand technique in case electricity jumps into the body of the disconnecting person
Cool idea but won't sell very good if it really only lasts 3 hours. When people go out for a lake day it's usually all day. If they need more gas it's instant charging would have to be nearly instant for this boat to be worth anything.
Three hours would only work if you lived on the lake. However, I would assume you probably wouldn’t want to buy this expensive boat unless you owned lakeside property 😂

3 hours is low but it will get better as technology gets better.
Once they push the battery life to 6+ hours this is going to be a game changer!
They have to get solar for the electronics not for motor

Ironically the battery on that boat is about 30% bigger than a Tesla. It’s probably just the inefficient drag from pushing all the water?

5 hour battery minimum in my opinion. I can’t imagine being on the lake with friends for only a few hours

Only 3 hours of use on a full charge is pretty limiting for "a day on the lake". How long does it take to get a full charge?
A day on the lake for me is 9 hours
10 hours
3 hours towing people not cruising
In stead of having balask tanks.... Just put more batteries!! That way you can get more time on the water, and it just helps your wake!!
Yeah but what if you want to just cruise and dont want to disturb the shoreline

I'm sure they've already thought of this but, integrate solar charging somehow and then they'll be in business. Fun in the sun all day baby!
A solar array that would fit on that boat wouldn’t generate enough to run it. Same problem with solar on cars, just not big enough to power it
But it would extend the range
ryan Murphy a cybertruck solar addon adds 3 miles per day not very practical
How long does it take to go from 0 Battery to full charged?
yesterday we spent 5 hours on the lake this only has three hours. still and awesome boat thought
