i'm a vinyl dj still order records every week i still support becuase i used to own a record store i know what its like so i support records but you know what at the end of the day who cares about the media as long as the music kicks ass
Richie Hawtin is one of the best djs....but much better are the producers who created the tools, music, tracks...as you want to name it, that Richie uses!
iam playing for 6 years now and nothing compares to the sound and feel of vinyls, Yes i agree the technology change every day but that dosnt mean always to the better.(sorry for the poor enlgish)
You`re absolutely right. Many Dj`s today are not realy "working" behind the wheels. They spin the vinyl and thats it. Think about playing 12 years ago, the dj played 5 hours, ore even the whole night long. So everyone who has VirtualDJ today is also a dj. Poor!! Look at guys like, craig, mills, ruskin, hawtin, san, acquaviva, and a few more. They are making musik!!!
What iam saying is that is easier to learn, because you dont have to actually touch it and create music. Is digitall. But technology progress so we have to follow. If your not very young and went to some rave parties 8-10 years ago you will understand what i mean mate. Then was the real parties.
doesn't matter what media its on as long as it sounds good that debate is never going to end i spin vinyl but i appreicate people making their own live remixes on stage and i produce the only reason i don't stray from analog is because i'm technology challenged lol!!! but i do see what miltos is sayin alot of djs just use the sneak on tracktor and these programs he may be reffering to mixing tracks which is not all what a dj is about its also about your own originals and remixes
@feliporivera things change with the times...and thank god they do...all technology has done is enjoy the experience even more, whether you are driving a car, sitting on a plane or listening to a live set. But hey, go back to craping behind a three if you wanna do it the hard way, ill stick with the toilet.
Also iam not talking for the particular Dj this guy rocks. Also i went to some of his sets. He rocks. The most of the guys using tracktor and similar sucks a lot. They are so putting it on Auto lol
Is more a personal matter.I mean look at the picture above. A dj behind 2 laptops.Replacing the original image of a dj behind the decks. I wouldn't pay 20-30 euros to go to an event to see a dj just sitting there and tracktor do the job for him. Here in my place most dj's really work the decks (vinyl,or cd's) and making the best music possible for a real rave party). I also follow technology but nothing would change my mind about how a real dj should be.
@Miltos2304 so what you are saying is that anybody who has a computer and traktor can pull this mix cuz its actualy traktor doing all this stuffs....give me a break
OMg he uses software to make the music so why fuck does it matter if he uses software to play it. its sad to see all the snobs who think vinyl is end all be all
i'm a vinyl dj still order records every week i still support becuase i used to own a record store i know what its like so i support records but you know what at the end of the day who cares about the media as long as the music kicks ass
Now this is what im talking about... have seen richie dozens of times in Detroit, but this is EPIC

well, technology is improving, u have 2 move on an adjust,
to be honest i dont know much about hip-hop or rnb dj's.Iam only into electro,house....etc
anyone can buy a computer and start downloadung mp3s. Then use a software to remix those mp3s
So...everyone is a DJ ?
So my 8 year old sister is a Dj.wooooow
@dapz400 i don't crap behind a tree and pretend i'm using a toilet ;) so a dj is a dj and this is NOT a dj. get your facts straight
OMg he uses software to make the music so why fuck does it matter if he uses software to play it. its sad to see all the snobs who think vinyl is end all be all
those wannabe deejays... where are the tt´s ?
;)
Playing on laptops don't make you a DJ.
Touch the real thinks(vinyls)
sucker. :')
a dj = disk jockey . so...where's the fuckin' disk ? :)))) cuz i don't see it
