The key differences: Reports- They are dynamic and interactive. End-users are the day-to-day operations people. The granularity of the data will usually be important for the end-user and they will typically interact with the report. Dashboards - They are static and will answer specific questions. End-users are the senior leadership. The granularity of the data is less important and it's more about the speed of getting the insights.
if I am dealing with live data, meaning there will be daily or weekly refresh to my report, will it be reflected into the dashboard that I have created? my current understanding that it will not.
Thanks for your video, it is clear. But from my point of view, it is wast of time, because when I need a dasboard on a monthly basis, if I understant well, I need to create a new dashboard with same visual but with different period ? What is the best practise if I want graphs from different dataset into a same page (Dashboard) but in dynamic view ?
Hi there, I appreciate the feedback! So for monthly reports like this, I would say best practice is to keep them as reports. Dashboards are more geared towards data that is static, so storytelling can be done on the data. If you want a dynamic view, I would say to create a slicer to always choose the current month/day and then pin them with those values; Here's a video to help you: th-cam.com/video/pt7dI8af_m8/w-d-xo.html
excellent contribution!, you've got a new suscriber 👌just a general question: - Once I pinned a visual on a dashboard; Does the dashboard visual update automatically when updated in the source report? My main concern is that the dashboard visual remains static and the user has to access the source report to see the updated indicator
