Also, it may be beneficial to leave a pile or 2 where it doesn't bother you for insects and worms to overwinter. More and more garden shows here in the US advocate for leaving leaves on the ground, or even suggest to pick up neighbors' leaves! I'm sorry to say I am a little worried about Gwin. He seems healthy but overweight. I have debated about mentioning this, but my experience with my own cat who was apparently just a little overweight was very sad, so here is a warning: he got diabetes and needed insulin shots daily. Turns out diabetes is quite common in overweight cats. Please get Gwin to lose weight while he is still healthy. Slim animals, like those in the wild, are much healthier.
