  • This channel is a video that discusses the fascination of great apes (#gorilla、#chimpanzee、#orangutan) and enrichment.
    Apes are the most intelligent animals and are therefore susceptible to mental illness.
    Environmental enrichment is a measure to reduce mental and physical stress and lead a happy life from the standpoint of apes, not from the convenience and emotions of human beings.

    Is Peko OK? She's been spending quite a bit of time in the hammock. When she didn't even come for snacks it makes me wonder if she's feeling well. The rest of the group look great! I see lil Ibuki is keeping up family tradition with the branches. 🙂 I also like how well Bonbon plays with Ibuki. Male chimps, even ranking males always have time for the young in their group. This is nice to see the most powerful playing with the weakest. Ahhhh I see why Peko didn't move when snacks started being tossed! She's trained her keeper to serve them directly to her. How smart she is. Old gal just enjoy life! 🙂 How sweet of Mil to offer lil Ibuki a ride. These chimps are kinder and more thoughtful than many a human! I see Bonbon is still following Cherry. Whats he going to do when she's no longer there to prompt and direct him; poor guy is going to be devastated! The old gals are the true leaders and decision makers among the group, and the males follow their leads. Otherwise their lives and priorities are Fight or Flight and Food and Sex, that's it! What a Life! 🙂 TAMA Zoo will most definitely need to put Gin back into the group with Bonbon, so the true leader can lead! This will be Gin! It's time for the Cream to Rise to the Top! 🙂 Baby Dill is such a good boy! He gets cuter each day! Mikan is an Awesome mother! She looks Great! Takes wonderful care of herself and baby Dill, and still functions with the group. I just LOVE these chimps! 🙂

      The keeper says Peko's health is good.
      She has a heater in front of her hammock and likes it there.

    It was sad when Chiko was transferred, and it's sad that Cherry has also been relocated, but at least they will be together. Plus. Jun needs a family. I hope Bon and Berry handle the split well. Peko-San still looks a bit sad, but I have been seeing signs of improvement. All we can do is hope for the best.

    I love how ..at.10:16...in slow-motion it looks like he was diving through a window...no adjustments, no trying to brace for impact(w/ the ground) just diving parallel to the ground until i assume he face plants......love that crazy nut...dont ever change Ibuki

    Hopefully Cherry will have good fortune at Hamamatsu with Chiko and Jun. Poor Bonbon and Berry, after Kenta died she was all they had left. Already I've seen footage of nervous Bon searching for "Apex Cherry" as I have called her.

      Let's hope for the best! Cherry loves Chiko and Jun is such a handsome good chimp,I hope Cherry trains him to mate because it will go alot better for him. Bonbon probably needs this.

    I think keepers could devise a way to share information about what is going to happen with them by video. For instance a pregnant lady with little experience could be shown videos of birth, breastfeeding, and childcare. In this case Cherry could be shown Hamamatsu, Chicko and Jun. (Just a thought from a non-keeper.)

    Great video. Change is always difficult. I hope the best for Cherry, Berry and Bonbon. Unlike humans, they won’t know what happened.
    It’s been in several videos now where Ibuki tries to make a “nest”. I haven’t seen any of the adults make one, I wonder where he gets it it from.

    • @johnhoney5089
      @johnhoney5089 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I've thought about that too. I know some of the adults used to nest, like Miru and Mikan, but I haven't seen them do so in years.
      I've also noticed Plum is building nests too.

    • @gregbirkline2533
      @gregbirkline2533 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Decky makes nest all the time. He’s always grabbing branches and making a circle around him just to sit in. So maybe he learned it from Decky. However nesting is something chimps do at night right before they go to sleep so another possible way he learned is from his mom at night time. I also think nesting comes natural to them as well

    Who would win a fight between a gorilla and a chimpanzee?

    • @rosemarysynnott6544
      @rosemarysynnott6544 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      1 on one males maybe gorilla but would get wounds , in the wild a troop of chimps attacked a gorilla group and killed 2 infants. The silverback and females managed to wound, from memory 2 of the chimps. Chimps are highly aggressive compared to gorilla's.

      Silverback would crush any chimp dumb enough to attack it.

    • @deanmayer6508
      @deanmayer6508 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know chimps go crazy when they are on the attack. I was just wondering about a gorilla and chimp in battle.
      I do know that chimps will also get a lot more chimps to fight or hunt with them. Wasn't sure if gorillas would gang up on chimps.
