IV is of course a must. Physical Graffiti though has a lot of filler songs in there with the great ones: they'd just hammer out some jam, some throwaway lyrics. They rock, but are they that special?

My uncle, who’s one of the biggest Led Zeppelin fans, used “Thank You” as his wedding song. On another note, I don’t know who told you not to pay attention to lyrics cause Plant is an absolute legend at songwriting. In case you missed it, there were references to The Hobbit in “Ramble On”. Also, “Heartbreaker” and “Living Loving Maid” are basically made to be played together.
The guitar solo in Heartbreaker was recorded at a different studio on a different day with a different guitar than the rest of the song. I saw an interview with an engineer who worked on the album who said he didn't like how the solo sounded because it was clearly recorded somewhere else with a different guitar. Despite all this, the solo in Heartbreaker was massively popular and influential in its day. What's more interesting to me is the amount of mistakes Jimmy Page makes in his solos and how sloppy they are, while still sounding amazing
I'd call it the difference between energy and precision. Page has great melodic phrasing but was yes, sloppy at times. (Of course he played them VERY clean, with none of the effects that smooth over fumbles.) There's a bit of a fetish from a lot of metalheads. Me, I think they're missing the point: many virtuoso metalheads lack soul to me. Split the difference and go with David Gilmour. But then metalheads accuse him of being slow and too pentatonic. It's a matter of taste. Subjective.
Always loved the fact that one song is about squeezing the lemon till all the juice comes out (wink wink) and the next one is a beautiful, romantic thank you letter lol
@@bishlap if he likes aja that’s the most popular out of the way. He can do the greater Steely Dan albums then. Like Royal Scam, Katy Lied, Can’t Buy a Thrill and Pretzel Logic
When LZ were on tour in the US in January 1969, they were already playing Killing Floor (later it became The Lemon Song) and Pal's Delight (which became Moby Dick), e.g. January+April Fillmore West. There was also a Whole Lotta Love version in the program in the middle of the year. These songs only appeared in November on this album. At that time, an album was released practically every year and frequent touring was common back then. LZ II+IV are the feel-good albums for every mood, LZ I+III are the discovery albums where you have to listen a little more closely to enjoy them. I wouldn't want to miss any of the first four. Thanks, great job, stick with it!!!
Being a 40 something where my dad got me into classic rock at an early age, it trips me out that there's still younger generations checking this stuff out for the first time. Just a little Led for your head. Really enjoy your content man, keep it up. P.s. loved your Ween reactions
I probably posted this before but I’ve been so into ‘songs of faith and devotion’ by Depeche mode. The album is shockingly overlooked and I genuinely believe it’s one of the most innovative alternative rock albums oat. It’s a masterpiece with a pretty haunting backstory, with lead singer Dave Gahan suffering with an almost fatal Heroin addiction. The sound is so unique and captivating. I’d love to see your reaction fr
This album was my entrée into Led Zeppelin when I borrowed it from a schoolmate in 1970. I saw them live in '72 and they blew me away, spoiled me for live gigs in fact. I've seen some great bands since, but none have surpassed that night. Neil Young And Crazy Horse did come very close though.
That bassist/keyboardist, John Paul Jones, was asked by Dave Grohl and Josh Homme to create a supergroup in 2009, whih he gladly accepted. They called it "Them Crooked Vultures". Their self-titled album is brilliant
I would say the lyrics are more worth paying attention to as you progress through their discography. In LZ 1 it's mostly covers of blues classics, but here there is a balance, and in the albums beyond this the majority is their own writing.
sup bro, i recommend going for IV and physical grafiti rather than the others but thats just my honest opinion, if youre going the classic albums route please check out some bob dylan, highway 61 revisited is a must.
Ya que empezaste con las reacciones de música en español, reacciona a Los Jaivas - Los Jaivas (1975) una locura de album. De las mejores cosas que existen en la música
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS MY GUY a few recommendations: Process - Sampha (experimental r&b, great production) Nurture - Porter Robinson (light summer electric with fun production) Koi No Yokan - Deftones (very heavy, sexier and heavier radiohead imo) Hypochondriac - Brakence (very experimental emo rap, glitch pop) Reading Writing And Arithmetic - The Sundays (the smiths ish, with beautiful female vocals)
i love your videos!!! i want to recommend some albums! > steely dan - can't buy a thrill > the smiths - meat is murder > george harrisson - all things must pass > new order - low life > pet shop boys - behavior and as a brazilian, i would love if you listen to two albuns: “a tábua de esmeralda - jorge ben jor”, one of the most acclaimed albums in my country, where jorge shares his love for alchemy and the best of his instrumental “clube da esquina - milton nascimento”, its a classic of brazilian music and a lot of artists like Paul McCartney loved 💖💖 if you need any information, i will be happy to help!
Ok, hear me out. Not only do I think you would love the album Floral Prince by Field Medic, but you actually look exactly like the lead singer. Or at least like his younger brother!
I know you just didn't say you could play the drums from Moby Dick. That was hopefully sarcasm. If not you need to look up some live clips of their drummer. He frequently left blood all over his drum kit
@@smags1082 It was deceiving then, because you spoke of the "fade out" but you didn't mention the fade in, which is unusual for many bands.....and not the only time Zeppelin does this.
You don't seem to understand the value of the strategic pauses in Led Zeppelin songs. You like the easier listening it seems and aren't so appreciative of the inventiveness and creativity of the more original songs.
Why are you getting mad at Smags and not at TH-cam? He only cuts the videos because TH-cam takes the videos down otherwise. You sound like an out of touch old person yelling at the clouds
Please don't miss Led Zep IV and Physical Graffiti. Those are must listen LZ albums and in rock music in general.

Very good commentary. I think the younger generation are good custodians of this music. Enjoy as we did many years ago.

Yesssss. (Please react to Fugazi’s “The Argument”. You’ll love it.)
Or any Fugazi tbh, every album is great
Hell yeah man. This album and Black Sabbath's Paranoid basically spawned the entire genre of hard rock music. All killer, no filler.
More zeppelin would be nice. And I think you will really like the 3rd one as its heavily based around a more folksy sound
