Simply a marvellous documentary. I'm amazed by Juliane's will to survive and the steps taken after she found herself alive in middle of jungle. She is a rare breed indeed! I am really touched by the men who saved her, especially the gentleman who got stung by stingray while clearing the path near crash site. Truly a kind man. God bless his soul. Without a doubt this documentary is a life lesson for me. It unwittingly taught me so many things. My sincere thanks to everyone who were part of this documentary and the person who uploaded it. - Love from India.
Thank you for uploading this movie! Great thanks to Werner Herzog and to Juliana. An incredible women who dared to come back on this crime scene. Astonishing survival story... She was stronger, at age 17, than most of the best trained soldiers...
I really appreciate this sharing of this movie. What an extraordinary woman who went on to have a great life of service to the jungle and its creatures!
This is an event that I never knew about until today. A remarkable woman, an amazing story of survival, and a very well done film. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I will never complain about a bug again. Juliane Koepcke, you are a face of courage. Wonderful documentary, thank you to my friend Trevor, who reminded about this bittersweet moment in history.
Another compelling Werner Herzog documentary. This is my 2nd time to see his work; the first being "Grizzly Man," about a man who lived near Alaskan grizzly bears for 13 years until he was killed by one. Thank you Mr. Herzog!
Finished reading her biography a few days ago & now, just finished watching the documentary. Amazing story of an incredible young woman's & her tenacity for survival. Juliane Koepcke, you are truly an inspiration!
Although I can't claim to have been searching for this very long, it was extremely lucky I found it. May I add my heartfelt thanks to many others for sharing it. Thank you.
What an AWESOME story of survival. She's an inspiration. One in 100 million chance. Only explanation, she wasn't supposed to die. She's my hero.💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Truly a one in a billion chance of survival. Perhaps she rode the wing down part of the way and the tree tops cushioned the last part of her fall. I've had a very minor concussion. A severe concussion is no joke. All you do is sleep. Great story. I wish "I shouldn't be Alive" would remake it.
Having just seen the credits at the end, I notice that the "Copyright" says 1998 -- 27 years after the crash, so Juliane would have been about 44 during the filming.
Tonight on IDTV, there was a fascinating Werner Herzog documentary about a woman on death row in Texas. He was unfamiliar to me so I googled his name and learned of this documentary... I promptly pulled it up here on TH-cam- and then couldn't stop watching. Well I sure know who he is now & am looking forward to his other films ! ! Also, kudos to RaleighArtist!
Her survival is an incredible tribute to her parents. Despite her youth and injuries, Juliane showed remarkable self discipline and critical thinking skills. No cosseted helicopter-parented American teen would have survived.
IMDB says that this film was released in 2001, thirty years after the crash. Therefore, Juliane must have been about 46 when she was being filmed (although she looks younger), and she is about 58 now (in 2013).
I've never heard a stingray tale but I know their "tails" contain a spike or two that is very sharp , serrated and injects a protein that can cause terrible pain along with bacteria .
Its such a crazy world.. I was reading through a list called "Five Absolutely Amazing Human Endurance Feats" and found Julianes story but before hers I found the astounding story of Thor Heyerdahl and 'The Kon-Tiki Expedition Across the Pacific Ocean' ( by balsa wood raft in1947)A MUST WATCH!!.. Thors journey was also in Peru... anyway, found it odd and yes I have now watched the documentary for both and the Kon Tiki Hollywood movie.. next is Julianes Hollywood Movie!!
Thank you again for sharing this with us - what a story she has! Are you in north central No Carolina? I'm desperatly searching for a man named Terry Green.

Thank you uploader, and Werner Herzog for crafting such a beautiful film. I don't think I could have lasted 10 days, what a story.

Marcio should have gotten a shit load of money for his actions too
He was supposed to be on the same flight….he escaped on some final destination kinda crap 😮
What a tale, what a brave and crafty young woman she was in the days following the horrible crash. Thank you for sharing.
Although I can't claim to have been searching for this very long, it was extremely lucky I found it. May I add my heartfelt thanks to many others for sharing it. Thank you.
Bear Grylls has nothing on this courageous lady when it comes to survival.
Oh this was so well done and so very enjoyable!! Thank you!!!!!!! I just finished reading her book. What an amazing story.

If I'm ever in a plane crash in the middle of a jungle I think I stand a chance after watching this documentary.
Her survival is an incredible tribute to her parents. Despite her youth and injuries, Juliane showed remarkable self discipline and critical thinking skills. No cosseted helicopter-parented American teen would have survived.
Whimsey6 I do not think a British, German, or French kid would've made it either.
I was really taken by how beautiful she was.

I didn't know stingray tales could puncture so deeply with such force.
I've never heard a stingray tale but I know their "tails" contain a spike or two that is very sharp , serrated and injects a protein that can cause terrible pain along with bacteria .
