Awesome video, thanks for the excellent information. You are a great teacher.
Really insightful explanation - thanks for taking the time
Its good to see that you have plenty of help making your videos.
Great video! I really like your practical experiences. One thing I've learned over the years is if I get some highly figured walnut, it can be a good idea to take some thicker slabs (2.75-3") to market for gun stock blanks. They take extra time to dry, but the profit margin is very good once you get them sold. Not for everyone, but just thought I would toss that out there.
You probably dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest series on instaflixxer. I've been watching with my brother these days :)
@Memphis Torin definitely, have been using InstaFlixxer for months myself :)
Hey Charley, Thanks so much for the info, it all made great sense & answered a lot of questions I had on the subject. Keep the Vid's coming :)
Good examples of decent slabs. Cicadas are noisy during this time of year. Don’t have any this far north. Thanks
Looks like you don’t cover or keep tin on your lumber stacks. You had said you put the lesser quality lumber on top. Do you notice loss of lumber from not covering it? Thanks for the great video on pith!
yea there is some loss at the top, I know it's not ideal but we got caught up with life a few times and lumber stacks don't always get full attention so it is what it is. The KD stuff I had a tarp over, but last few days a big wind storm came thru and ripped the tarp
Hmmm... I liked to saw out the pith and make 2 qs boards. Interesting to hear that you have been able to dry slabs with pith.
Love the cats!
I’m trying to decide if I want to get the lt28 or lt35 I want to be able to saw wood to do woodworking with and maybe sell some lumber... my goal is to be able to make it pay for itself which one do you think would be the best?
lt35
Charlie how many cats do you guys. Are they all yours or some are neighbors cats
they are all ours, we have five.
You can tell a man is patient by the number of cats. Have you ever tried to herd the lads, they say a tough life is like herding cats
lol they actually all come to Sarah when she calls for them.
I came for the wood info but stayed for the cats
