Wow ,,, monsters ,,, made me think of a question ,, I don't have fish scales in my boat ,, I am sure fish scales are like crappie rods to you ,, pretty much none you haven't used ,, what kind of scales do you recommend for weighing Crappie?
I was actually thinking about making a video on this subject. I've used a number of scales and the two I recommend are Berkley scale amzn.to/3gjUzL9 or the Rapala scale amzn.to/3mUCFzQ
Oh I about forgot to say what an awesome awesome video buddy!! Love to see many more mondos this year for sure!! I’d like to see you get on a 2.75 to 3lber!!!
Can you back possibly and show any livescope of the actual 2.09 or 2.31 crappie? I’d love to create a template that gives you an idea of the general size within a give. Depth and forward distance. It’s just a matter of time. Someone will do it
Unfortunately, since this wasn't my boat, i wasn't able to record the screen of the livecope while i was fishing. Garmin units are linked to account owners via Active Captain App, only the owner of the unit has access to record the screen. I did try using a gopro, but we didn't have enough room on the front of the boat for all the cameras.
Yeh I’ve got it. I thought I could use an iPad to look at my scope from the “helm” of my boat. Just gonna get a second graph for the helm and back deck. I can id catfish, bass, gar, spoonbills and even Asian carp. I have a tough time with goo and slabs. Someone is gonna figure it out for us.,
What I’ve always heard is that this time of year on lake O pines you keep every crappie you catch due to the depth their in, as you bring them up it does something to their air bladders? True or not true?
Just to clarify, these videos were filmed in late October. During the winter months crappie suspend in deeper water, when they are caught and pulled through the water column (deeper than 25ft) their air bladder expands. As a result if they are release there is a high probability they will die trying to swim back to the depth they were caught. This seems to be the logic behind keep everything you catch regulations on lakes like lake of the pines.
I e never fished that lake. I’m not far from it. I fish Wright pattman lake. It has some great crappie as well. Haven’t been lately since they have the lake drawn down extremely low to build a new bridge due to the lake level being raised ten ft above normal to supply water to Dallas. Anyway great vid.
What is the day limit on lake of the pines for crappies?? & has he or anyone ever caught a 3lber?? I would love to book a trip this year but I’m wanting to get on a true wall hanger!!
Flopping Crappie the mane reason for asking the dally limit is to make sure if I book a trip that I would be able to bring home enough fish for maybe a couple meals!! Lol!! Thanks again buddy & love watching your videos!!
Hey man, great video! Awhile back you fixed the cord on your trolling motor but I can’t find the link. Would you minded sharing that? I’ve got a b-day coming up and I’m rounding up gift ideas. Thanks bud!
I think I mentioned it in a bass fishing video, but i don't think i showed how to replace it. I used the G Man trolling motor handle by TH Marine amzn.to/309R1RG
I think Livescope will have the same effect as Side Imaging did when if first came out in the early 2000's. Some lakes may need adjustments in their regulations, but most will stay the same.
What a great video!! Thanks!
Congrats on the New PB!!! Good stuff...
Thanks!
I just bought the livescope and getting it installed next week along with 2 Garmin echomap plus 93sv finders. Itchin to go fishin. Lake Texoma for me.
Good luck! I'm sure you'll catch a boat load!

thanks! The goal this year is to finally break the 3lb mark.
This video made me order livescope midway through it. Just got fed up not having it
You love using it and hopefully it helps put your biggest fish in the boat. Thanks for watching!
Great video bruh !!! I'll get those out to you this week. Look for it in the mail by next week. Be blessed !!!
Thanks Tim! Cant wait to try out those lures!
More fun than the law should allow. Haha Can’t wait to do it again brother!
Thanks again Les!
I can't wait to go back. Might be going this weekend!! ;)
Good Luck!
2.31.......BAM!
YUP! I can't wait to go back this year. My goal is to break 3lbs on some lake
Nice crappie man fun catching
Thanks!
Great video. I love my live scope
Thanks, livecope has completely changed how anglers fish for crappie, and I love it too!
What size head unit gives the best picture for the livescope?
The biggest you can afford. Les (or guide) had a 1242xsv unit which a 12 inch screen. I use a echomap plus 93sv (9 inch screen) which works well too.

The daily bag limit is 25. And yes, if you go to Les' Facebook there is a picture of a 3.3lber they just caught
Flopping Crappie that is awesome for sure!! That is definitely my goal to get a wall hanger like that someday!!!

@@j.j.clingman4083 thanks for the support, good luck on your fishing trip!
It’s gonna do the same for bass fishing too
100% agree, especially schooling summertime bass

Thanks so much!
you're welcome
When and where are we going fishing again? 🎣🔨⏰
I talked to Andy last week about another fall trip, it sound like Lake Fork
Davis your going to get me in trouble with the wife, I might need to get a live scope.
Haha, just says it's a business expense
We are going to need strictor limits and larger minimum sizes because of this livescope.
I think Livescope will have the same effect as Side Imaging did when if first came out in the early 2000's. Some lakes may need adjustments in their regulations, but most will stay the same.
That livescope is amazing. The crappies don't stand a chance.
Well, they can decide not to bite anything. Haha
WhOO! Rod-runner! WHY would someone down-thumb a fishing video?
I asked myself that same question.
Because they are livescope haters
Davis you are the man. are you ready to move you can get a visa
Haha, thinking about it
if you know what you are doing it pays off.
I agree, there is a bit of a learning curve to getting it dialed in.
