The fancy public over pass at 1:40 used to be a rickety, old, wooden trestle that allowed people to safely walk over the tracks to and from the North Side. The wooden trestle was so low that when the locomotives went under it you could feel the heat from the exhaust stacks. The foot bridge was one of the best places in Missoula to watch the NP freights and the traffic from the round house, depot and the east end of the hump yard during the 1970's. Nice view from the new, public bridge but nothing compared to that old, wooden trestle that put you up close and personal to the action on the mainlines, back in the day.

That's interesting, I'm sure that was a really good view from up there back in the day!
Great job
