Providence scrapyard where fire broke out closed pending court hearing

A Providence scrapyard where a fire broke out Wednesday will stay closed until Friday, when a court hearing is scheduled.
It was the second fire at Rhode Island Recycled Metals since April. City officials and neighbors have complained about potential water and air contamination.
A column of thick, black smoke reached into the sky from the Allens Avenue scrapyard at about 11 a.m.
