I cannot believe they didn't have coffee as part of the line up. I'm gonna try that cider thing, but I've been dipping all my cookies in coffee for years.
This is what we've always done in my country. People only started with the milk thing later from American influence.

Not "cookie" cookies, but one of my biggest pregnancy cravings has been Nutter Butters with Marshmallow fluff. It really just tastes like a fluffernutter sandwich! And, I'm honestly not surprised cider won, it's pretty much just a sophisticated dessert in drink form lol

I prefer tea. My favorite is shortbread, it just works. Timtams straw with tea or coffee is pretty good as well.
Sour cream is used in a lot of baking recipes so I feel like that makes sense.

If it doesn't call for sour cream but it does call for milk or cream, I like to try sour cream and it usually works.

I once watched a British dessert recipe video where they added creme fraiche to whatever the dessert was. I searched on the internet and found that sour cream is similar, so I tried it with brownies. Now everyone thinks I'm weird because I like sour cream with brownies. It's sooo good though! I feel like dipping the cookies in buttermilk would give a similar experience (though not as creative I guess). I like that the creamy tanginess helps to offset the sweetness in desserts.
