      That's not important. I think it is fair and your right to voice concerns about things that you care about. What is more annoying is that everyone is misinformed and act like they know what they are talking about. We are f*cking arrogant and ignorant people.

      @@yiklongtay6029 Yeah, I definitely agree. People should be able to speak on something even if not directly impacted. I think what I was getting at was by the nature of this scenario, if you're not involved you're not going to know everything and therefore be misinformed.
      Absolutely listen to those people, just take things with a grain of salt if it's exclusively people not involved

    People on twitter will always find something to complain about. I think for this one the original girl who was complaining had valid points but it came down to a misunderstanding base of multiple assumptions she made.
    Because of Toast, Ludwig, and Charlie the t2 Valorant scene grew from 5k viewers to 50k+
    I hope that he can do the same for this tournament and many others
    When I grew up I got to look up to a lot of players while playing the game that I really enjoy. I hope that for many girls these type of tournaments allow them to find people they can look up to and motivate them to be more involved in the competitive scene.

    I don't know what are the rants of that specific person about the DSG team, but Toast is right. It is a open qualifiers, and if that person was salty while saying that they take spots, then it means that either the person didn't have been accepted by any teams due to this person personality or people simply doesn't have any talents at all.
    Or maybe this person was simply a fame seeker.

      She mis-read the tweet by Toast, she thought he was looking for a team GC full of pros, but he clearly said one pro to IGL 4 scrubs lol. Her mis-reading of the tweet she made a twitter thread criticizing DSG as a brand and org, when fact checked by Toast she played victim and deleted the tweet saying she's disappointed in the DSG brand and org. Later continued to double and triple down on her take and claims to have spoken to Toast through DMs.

    I saw on Twitter one dude who is friends with the OP say that if he isn't going to field a full professional squad, then why even try. He then later said that I'm not going to delete any of this even if I'm wrong because that would remove thousands of impressions. I regret the loss of my brain cells digging deeper into this situation.

    I love the Idea.
    Been watching ttupperware for the last 3 days, and I have learned a lot, while having fun.
    Ruin has a (to me) very passive coaching style doing the scrims, thus I am hoping for a "sit in" stream of he's coaching sessions.
    But ttupperware has talked a little about how she tries to lead the team doing a match.
    Also ttupperware and TrulyTenzin's aim looks so smooth and slick, not at all how my aim looks like in game 😛

      @@playz8538 that is such a terrible argument. How the hell do you expect a scene to grow without exposure? Yes, not all those views are going to stick but it still brought a lot of people's attention- especially those that didn't know it existed. Growth happens gradually- over time- that's why the exposure is important and this team bought it in truck loads. And what actual players you idiot? The girls were all immortal (one one ascendant)- all of them experienced players and if you did your research and looked up the avg ranks of the teams playing in the tourney- it's immortal. The min rank requirement was ascendant. You're argument is literal garbage. No one is owed or deserving a spot over anyone here

    Being a tournament that's supposed to be about inclusion and equality for girl gamers in the gaming scene, the criticism is absolutly valid.
    4 streamrs participating in a professional fps tournament for professional fps gamers is not the 'spirit' of the tournament.
    I do think the criticism should be on RIOT for allowing the team to compete and not giving the spot to another team with less clout and more unpriveleged than 4 big streamrs.

    • @bloodykats
      @bloodykats ปีที่แล้ว +57

      It’s an OPEN qualifier, what spot?! You can literally make a team today with your friends and apply to compete.
      Did you even watch the video, Toast literally say this.

    • @pauledwards6705
      @pauledwards6705 ปีที่แล้ว +20

      The flip side is as he said, it’s an OPEN QUALIFIER which means you don’t need to be on a esports team to compete, plus there not much chance this team is gonna make it far so it actually gives toast time to scout other player who are unsigned to add to a actual GC team going forward. Plus toast had very short time to make up a team so he can’t really scout other players now, plus having big personalities playing will bring in more viewers, in turn bringing in more revenue and relevancy for other players, so actually it’s a win all round when you actually think about it, you can complain about streamers being involved but it’s dumb really because without them the games become irrelevant

    • @MahaXad
      @MahaXad ปีที่แล้ว +11

      As everyone else has pointed out. It's an open qualifier. Anyone can make their own 5 man squad and sign up.
      If she hasn't found a squad yet, she's the problem.

    • @josuepereira7936
      @josuepereira7936 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@pauledwards6705 True it's a OPEN QUALIFIER WITH LIMITED SPOTS, anybody can apply and RIOT selects who they want to select that's why I said most of the blame is on RIOT. The revenue and relevancy argument is bad because IT'S a GC event not WOMEN'S LEAGUE as some people been calling it. You can't claim to be a movement for change and inclusion in gaming and for profit at the same time in this scenario.
