- In today's video I want to chat with you about loneliness in the life of an artist. I have often heard colleagues talking about it and admitting they feel socially isolated sometimes. My experiences are very different. In fact, I stopped feeling lonely because art made me feel true connection with other likeminded people.

Lonely is a feeling and alone describes being in a position or place…being in isolation alone can create feelings of loneliness. I understand it all. Stay connected to your tribe! I also offer painting parties in my house and love the energy we all share
In fact, i don't really matter if it's a myth or not. Because, art is a connection with ourself, with the soul. So YES an artist need loneliness time for himself. An artist often just need to be with himself to be happy. An artist could be lonely but not feel lonely. I don't think its a problem or else, if an artist is happy this way. I'm an artist myself, and i really love to be by myself. I don't have social life, because i need too much to spent time with myself, and i don't have friends where i live. But to have social life would take me too much time and energy. I think that society make a taboo of "loneliness", that is seen as a taboo and a very negative thing. For the common masses "we shouldn't stay alone"...While loneliness is not always negative. It totally depends of each people. Some people are lonely because they are negative, dark and depressive. And here, it's bad. But an artist is lonely because he enjoy to be lonely. His connection with life, nature, imagination, spiritual energy is so deep that he don't need others to feel happy. He have everything even if he seems to have nothing. Art is a fullfilment for the soul. It's like the singer Enya. She feel so much connected to music, that she prefer to live a lonely life in her castle.
Of course, sometimest it's great to join the world, but it's a choice. We always think that the connection to the world or others is about being physicality with people or in the world...But in fact, you feel even more connected to the world, when you are an artist that live near nature and enjoy the slow moment of life.
Those who don't understand that don't understand the connection with the soul. I love a peaceful life, where my day are filled with creativity. I could spend my life in the forest, with animals and bugs as friends (even if my situation don't allow me that for the moment, but it's my philosophy of life). modern society have completely forgot the soul of things. Today we have to be in the world, and to play video games, to watch series and to meet people. But honestly...I feel really complete when i'm by my side, far from the noise and distractions of the world. Modern society is completely disconnected with authenticity and simplicity, while artists reconnected to it.

Excellent work, and video
Thank you!
yes, but it still feels lonely, maybe you are in a different place so i don't know, but the main thing is not about being alone most of the time, is the fact that you are literally an alien to anyone, cause most do not get art, do not even see it as somenthing, they see it as kid's playing or similar, that is what make me feel isolated, the fact that any other hobby or job can be shared a bit more with others, but with art, is almost better to not even mention, cause they automatically start thinking negatively, and surely you cannot make any conversation out of it, at least not as an adult with adults, i am not even complaining, i just state that most people are too far from art to get it.
I am alone happily most of the time. But I am starting to feel lonely which is new to me. A big reason is the one human in my life does not get my creative imperative and doesn't want to hear about. Sometimes even mocking it. I liked best my time being around creative people. So now I'm looking for a new beginning that might include other creatives.
I'm sorry to hear that you feel isolated because of your art. I know that being an artist is not accepted everywhere and that it can be hard to find like minded people, therefore I feel really privileged that, where I live, I'm surrounded by people who admire creativity. I hope that you too, in time, will find the right people!
I feel everything you said very deeply. I am from India and for a major part, it’s the same here. It’s comforting to see these videos and know that at least such an environment exists somewhere and maybe someday our place will be better too.
😊woah! I'd love to attend one of your workshops and eat food too!!! Yeeeee
Thank you! I hope you will :)

Thank you for the inspiring video! Since I paint a lot, I have more contact with different people than if I didn't paint. I give painting lessons to children once a week and I can learn a lot there too! It's exciting to see how you shape your life as an artist.
Thank you for your kind comment! I'd love to teach children one time. Since they approach reality in such a different way than adults do, they must be very interesting to work with in a painting class.
