Being parallel doesn't mean it's correct being twisted can be a better option, doesn't mean it's out of alignment you should have checked it before correcting it.
@@jacekhabrajski8440 Yeah but it's down to the zenith it has been noted it's been as much as 17 degrees off and on the average is 2 1/2° off no cartridge is completely correct and got nothing to do with cost.
It should not be a problem, however, I'm not really a fan of weights, preferring to just invest in better core equipment rather than gizmos. If you're concerned about adding weight, a spindle clamp would be a lighter way of securing the record to the platter. Good luck.
It would have been better to demonstrate a cartridge protractor for alignment as not all turntables have a removable head shell. That little gizmo looks very good though for removable types.
Please watch the whole video. It shows how to balance the arm (0g tracking weight), set the gauge disc to 0 and then add the required weight, in this case 1.5g. The anti skate should be the same as the tracking weight, ie 1.5g.

Every method is good, choose the one that suits you. The factory one with the original insert fits me best.

Would you recommend a record weight with this turntable model? Or would it put too much strain on it

Sure, we'll show that in another video. Thanks for the suggestion.
Can you explain how you went from the 2.5g for the balance to the 1.5 for the tracking?

I watched the whole video and have the same exact question. Where does 1.5 grams come from if you found balance at 2.5
Hi I have this turntable. The belt is fine but my turntable won’t spin. Any idea?
Plenty of guidance at gbaudio.co.uk/ttclinic.htm

What is the length of the arm on the JVC?
