    Fantastic Video, answered a lot of queries in one Video. Thanks a ton. Just one Question. - I have 3 Deco M4 and was looking for Wired Which has only 2 Ethernet ports, and now i have 4 Tapo Cameras which i want to connect via Ethernet,
    Can we connect a Switch to the Main Deco and then connect other Deco to that Switch?? would that create the Ethernet Link in between them and bring all the IOT devices into the LAN?

    Nice video! I have a network set up with 5 of these, the first one configured as an access point and the rest as mesh, all connected by cable. It is good to say that when I connect a sixth device in mesh mode, the network no longer seems to work as well, it seems that its maximum limit is 5 units. To solve this, I put 2 range extenders at the ends of the network and that is how all 7 units work.

    Great video! I have a question: How can I connect the Reyee router with the Deco router so I can take advantage of the Reyee router's many antennas for better coverage, instead of letting it go to waste?

      You can run it in access point mode by going to the options but I personally don't like to mix and match

    Can I connect the internet directly to one of the units ? I have fibers internet and sfp converter so I can connect to the mesh using a cable.. but can the mesh talk to my isp ?

    • @landpet

      If you have fiber internet, I imagine you have an ONT. From the ONT's ethernet port, you can connect to this mesh system directly. That's actually my setup.

    Thanks for mentioning the cat 6/7/8 cables! I have one question to ask though, if you’re paying for 1000mbps speed, will they go above or be capped at 1000? Also, what do you recommend better between the Wi-Fi 6E mesh and wifi7 knowing I have the 1000mbps service? Thanks in advance!

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Typically they stop at 1000Mbps, some of them or most actually stop at 940Mbps for "gigabit".
      Either one is fine, wifi 6e is fast enough for gigabit if that's what you're asking.

    Great vids many thanks! My question: In AP MODE, my topology is mode/router ISP ethernet to MAIN DECO, port 2 on modem/router/ISP to switch, that feeds all the ports in my house. I have 2 DECOS hardlined to those ports in the house. Is this an example of a wired backhaul?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No problem.
      Yes if I understand correctly what you said, but I typically connect the decos to each other either daisy chained or star topology.

      @@landpet I'm so appreciative of your time!
      How do I get my APs connected directly to each other across a 3500 sq ft house, so as to leverage Ethernet back haul?
      I guess I'm thinking that all my Deco devices except the main Deco device are hard lined to a port that connects to a switch is an Ethernet back haul. Is it?
      Thanks again!

    I have Deco XE 75 three units system in my house
    And I also have M9 with 1.6.4 firmware that is not being used right now
    I am wondering if I can repropose the M9 for the coverage of the backyard
    Would there be a problem if I add M9 to XE75 network?
    Is it OK to mix different units on the same network under the same management console ??

      For the price, the tp-link deco is best. This deco be63 is my favorite for internet speeds of up to 2.5Gbps.

    Is there any way to connect ONT directly to main mesh and use it as a router? feels like there is no use for extra router in that set up. I tried with my mercusys mesh system but even in PPPoE mode looks like it does not work.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  18 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Yes, you can connect the ONT directly to the Deco. That's my setup. I demonstrate it with a cable modem which is the equivalent of an ONT for cable users.

    Ok, so, could you use an ethernet cable plugged into the tv for PoE?

    • @alexanye
      @alexanye 28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      And would that give the tv internet directly?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      This mesh system doesn’t provide PoE. I haven’t seen a TV accept PoE, that typically implies the tv would be powered via Ethernet.
      Plugging an Ethernet cable from this deco to the tv would provide the tv internet access assuming this deco was connected to an internet source such as a cable modem or ONT for example.

    • @alexanye
      @alexanye 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I was thinking for a satellite, not the main. It would be super cool if you could power the deco with an ethernet cable from the TV and give it internet at the same time 😂😂
