Spock was my favorite character in the Star Trek universe. When Leonard Nimoy passed away in 2015 we lost an icon. I love this one saying from Spock. "Logic dictates that the needs of the many outways the needs of the few." When Kirk replied, " Or the one you know their dynamic and friendship transcend space and time.
Other actors play Spock, Leonard Nimoy WAS Spock. RIP my friend, and thank you for giving so much to this amazing character. In a way non of the other characters on the show would have been so powerful without you.
You forgot to mention the Vulcan's second eyelids as depicted in the season 1 finale, "Operation -- Annihilate," among other episodes in the franchise. RIP, Leonard. LLAP 🖖
Spock is an amazing character and Nimoy brought so much to the him, especially in later years. That said, I have nothing but respect for those that have followed as well: Zachary Quinto and Ethan Peck both. People hate the Kelvin movies, I love them and the cast (especially Karl Urban as Bones) was amazing. And I am absolutely STUNNED by Strange New Worlds. I literally feel like a kid again watching for the first time!
Spock was my favorite character as someone who struggled with my emotions i admired the ability to control their emotions and make logical decisions based on logic even under extreme pressure
Tuvok was a Black Vulcan, which was a total surprise to this Black man because because I was a fan of the show since I was 5 back when it first aired in 66" and I never once saw a Black Vulcan until Tuvok.
@@kimbelsimpson7535, a sign of the times. There are plenty black Vulcans now. And honestly, given the climate of Vulcan, shouldn't most Vulcans be black?
Ray Jericho, as a Trekker, great presentation and narrating on this subject. As well as the SCP Foundation videos. Just wanted to add the original "Trek" novel _Dreams of the Raven_ gave excellent info on Spock's Vulcan physiology. T-negative blood, etc.
Yes he did. That's what saved Spock from permanent blindness in the TOS episode "Operation: Annihilate". That's the first episode which mentions the Vulcan inner eyelid.
There were errors in your presentation. McCoy never gave Spock permission to meld with him. STII Spock knew he was going to die so he gave McCoy a nerve pinch and while he was out Spock transferred his Katra to Bones. As far as I'm concerned Discovery never followed canon.
I may have missed something here... but was there anything to explain how a green blooded baby gestates in a red blooded woman? asking for a friend xxx
Have you NOT watched TOS episode Journey to Babel?? You made 3 GLARING MISTAKES. Spock's parents made their first appearance. Spock's father had wavy hair. AND Spock DONATED BLOOD to his father when Ambassador Sarek had a heart attack. The Human elements were filtered out. That process was shown in that episode. And you also mention that the other Vulcan that Spock could supposedly not donate to was "another Vulcan." That Vulcan was Ambassador Sarek, Spock's FATHER.
THAT'S WHAT I ❤️ ABOUT S.T. THE AILEN SPECIES CAN MATE WITH HUMANS. NOT ALL BUT SOME...& THE OTHERS A.S. HAVE A LOTS IN COMMON WITH THE HUMANS. S.T. IS 😎&FUN. SERIES...
Sorry so much was wrong with this video, pon far they must mate every 7 years, you have sexual relationships whenever they like, and it was established that Vulcan are five times stronger than humans, he most probably got the three times number from an episode of DS9 , where are the Vulcan team and the mixed team from DS9 played baseball against each other
6:51 what spock did here is technically a form of rape among vulcans lol its not talked about till enterprise when t'pol has to overcome the effects of being forcibly mind melded during torture....its pretty trippy.
Spock is one of those literary "half breed" characters drawn from popular thinking in the 18th and 19th century...still prevalent in the 1960s. Mingo on Daniel Boone is very similar. The mixed race singer in Showboat is another example. These were written in such a way that their "personalities clashed and warred" causing conflict which dramatists like. By the time racially mixed characters appeared in the 70s they were typically not treated this way, but the conflict was in the parents rival families or in others seeing them in the old way. For instance George Jefferson in The Jeffersons treating the children of the mixed race couple that way. In reality a character like Mingo, a real world reality, does not have internal racial drives as brain chemistry is..well a functioning brain...with biology via traits dominant and recessive...similarly skin tone, hair, height, build. The interracial conflict is psychologically driven ONLY by the societal situation
Spock is a sadistic bastard! He keeps breaking into my apartment, hiding half eaten pig carcasses, and taking a huge dump without flushing! He really needs to see a doctor about all the green blood…and finger nails clippings!
Yeah, it's VERY odd to hear. Technically speaking it's correct, as he was promoted to Captain by the time of Wrath of Khan, but during TNG he was just Commander. Personally I vote for the guys who made the video have no idea who he is, given a series of other mistakes.
Thats not Spock in the new trek shows its some idiot trying to pretend to be Spock. New Trek is the most awful science fiction ever made. It has the looks and names but it isn't at all.
I am a real Star Trek fan and I was enjoying your video until you started talkin about Michael Burnham or some crap like that doesn't even exist what are you talkin about spot does not have a black human sister... If you're referring to Discovery you already know real Star Trek fans do not hold Discovery as Star Trek.
Spock does not have a sister. Never did. He had a brother Sybok (ST V). A sister was never mentioned until Discovery. Discovery does not follow Star Trek canon.@@mariajohnson-tanner2720

it was a great loss. The word, however, is “outweighs” 😮

Vulcans are in my opinion don't entirely repress their emotions entirely. Their proclivity for logic as well as being disciplined emotionally

Simple his dad was Vulcan and his mother was human and they made Vulcan love and about 9 months late Spock popped out.
Shit..you beat me to it 😂
I completely disagree. It's much more complicated than that. Your comment is a form of oversimplification.

Tuvok's hair, while black, was NOT straight and he was full Vulcan, unlike Spock. Not ALL Vulcans had straight hair.
AND Ambassador Sarek (Mark Lenard played Spock's Vulcan father) had WAVY hair.

McCoy never agreed to house Spock's katra. Spock sedated him with a neck pitch and then mind melded with the sleeping McCoy.

Sybok is full Vulcan and is Spock's older HALF brother.
Mr Spock is a version of Prince Namor the SUB -MARINER Blessings and HUGS! 👑💜
Would you do a segment about Spock's son from the Ice Age episode
Nerd momen,. but did Spok inherit the Vulcan inner eyelids that protect them from effects of harsh wind and sand found in the Forge on Vulcan?
Yes he did. That's what saved Spock from permanent blindness in the TOS episode "Operation: Annihilate". That's the first episode which mentions the Vulcan inner eyelid.
Yes he did, it is mentioned in TOS Operation Annihilate.
Spock didn't die of old age
Around 4:10 I missed the part of Star Trek 2 where Spock asks Mc Coy if he can put that stuff in his head.....oh wait a min. Spock didn't ask

Vulcans also have a inner eyelid due to how close there sun is to there planet.

This video was unhelpful for my fanfiction research
Destruction of the Spock character by the current arrogant show runners after 50 years is nothing to applaud.
What is the evolutionary logic of pointy ears??

Not yet.

TAS has an episode around it.
They also have inner eyelids.

What does a Vulcan know about raiseing children?

yes
So Spock don’t have human organs?
When a mummy human meets a daddy Vulcan and they love each other very much……..
When a mommy Amanda and a daddy Sarek love each other very much(whether he admits it or not) and Pon Farr hits.........
I have often wondered why Vulcans never took to masturbation to manage themselves during Pon farr.
Because it is more than physical release. It is the reestablishment of the mental links with their mate that is needed as well.
Yep, if I had a black sister I would have avoided her and my family too..
