Yes...the CoinStar DOES take old coins. I had a friend that worked for CoinStar a few years back. He told me about all the old coins he would find and then he would just exchange them for new ones. He got a lot more money than their face value that is for sure!

Something doesn't ring quite true. Usually, the only way to purchase a defaulted storage unit is because it was "defaulted". But, how can the people not pay their bill with all that cash just lying around?

This is a business for us and when we are buying 10 lockers a month it isnt worth our time to roll all of the change. I do not know any banks left with the coin counter inside anymore.

+omfug lol he did not according to the facility. Since he owed the facility less than what the unit sold for he got money back for it. We have no idea why he wouldnt have just gone in the locker and gotten some money to pay the bill before it defaulted but he may have thought he'd be able to pay it and by then there was already a red lock on his unit. its so crazy!
No one else saw the money right and why wouldn't the people who owned the storage use the money to pay the rent on the unit just digging out there own unit and acting like it was someone else's

I found 5k worth of jewelry in my first year of doing this. I thought it was all fake but I brought it to the jeweler and it was all real. I had a bunch of pictures of it but I lost them when my computer crashed a year or so ago. I do not get why people put such valuable things in storage.
It would take us hours to roll them and we find buckets of change a lot. If it was our personal savings it would be different. The 10% is worth it for us.

They didn't pay their locker bill. When they sign the contract to rent in the facility it states if they do not pay their bill their items will be auctioned off. Its like if I do not pay my rent I get evicted from where I live.
They miss payments and the storage facility has to empty the space to rent it to someone new. It became a law in the 1970's I believer if this happens the facility has to auction it off publicly.
Give me a break! NO ONE puts that kind of cash money in plain view in storage. This is nothing more than clickbait to get people to tune into their other videos.

The coinstars doesnt take the older coins that would be worth more. If the coin is before a certain date they spit it back out.

What is a cleaning deposit? Do you get that back once you ensure the unit is cleaned or is it just tacked on to the final bid cost? Thanks!

10% fee in coinstar in germany u can bring each kind of cash to at least one bank in town and they have to accept it for free
the banks around here used to have a machine that would count it for free but they dont have them anymore. yeah the fee sucks but its whatever.
