The more I see sword of a stranger the more I appreciate the depth of craftsmanship that was put into making this movie-like anime, the rain, the scenery, even the clouds move when battles happen outside. It's just beautiful to see this again, pure art.
wow, it totally exposes the corruption of the samurai era. great work. poor doggy....love that the main characters honored their pet. That's humanity right there. And the song totally fits the narrative of how far can one go and when is it ok to do so.

Nanashi was basically similar to Hitokiri Battousai, a former killer who swore off killing ever again, except instead of switching to a reverse edged sword, he only sealed his sword by binding it so he could not draw it. And he differed from Kenshin in the end because he was forced to draw his blade to kill again just to save a boy's life.
I recommend checking out Angolmois: Record of Mongol Invasion! It's literally about the island of Tsushima getting raided by Mongolians. I personally enjoyed the anime a lot. The game was super fun too.

I think Nanashi was Renji when he was alive, before dying and going to the soul society lol. Ik it's 2 completely different anime but the similarities are there
Watch the OAV. One of the best. In the end it's a story about two warriors of unsurpassed skill, who, when faced with the same choice took different paths. In the one case giving in to bloodlust above all else, in the other clinging to Honor and determination.. The final swordfight is, IMO, one of the best in Anime history. The physical abilities of both swordsmen still felt . . . credible . . . while ridiculously skillful. They didn't go so far into the impossible it was silly (e.g. slicing steel / stone / massive timers like they were nothing).

Nah it's nothing really like Ghost of Tsushima but it's fight scenes are great and it's not a bad watch
