I'm really liking these longer format videos, a lot of creators will play one game as a champ and call it a guide. When you do these longer formats it really shows off how to play the champs in a variety of situations and match-ups, plus the extra macro advice you are giving is super informative! I already am playing better, across all the ADCs just from the macro decisions you are explaining, so thank you!
He is versatile but it seems ge will only be playing the same build, gameplay style and similar runes every game. Which is not a bad thing, it is adapted to his way of playing but there are other options :)
You've teach me a lot, thank You for that, it came to a point that i rather watch and learn than play myself lol, hope in the future You make AP Varus video, love the tank shredness on him as well as overall dmg, but my placing is tragic c:
I translated the build and runes for wild rift BT, PD, furor boots, Runaan, Wit's end, Serylda Lethal tempo, Hunter vampirism, conditioning and nimbus cloak yeah i know nobody here play that but i did and the build felt good
No this is an older video from before the item changes. The new on-hit Varus build would be Bork -> Guinsoo's -> Runaan's. You can do Shieldbow as 4th item at the earliest, it's a lategame item now.
Thanks for the reply. I really enjoyed the gameplay here and it helped me to improve a lot with Varus. Especially on lane positioning to punish the enemy adc when they come to last hit. I always knew I should hit back but my positioning was too far from them to attack back.
Main priority is finishing all the episode #1s for ADCs I haven't covered yet, there are 4 left. After that I'll probably finish Jinx and Aphelios and do other sporadic videos, no idea when the next Vayne one would be. Probably sooner compared to other ADCs, but I don't know when yet.
@@VaporaDarkCool! I have really liked vayne so far and watching your explanation is always so helpful. I would love to hear more about what you look for when going for trades and basic knowledge about when and how to trade for each champ in the videos too.
why does varus build shieldbow over something else? i notice in most of your videos its been kraken or galeforce every game. what makes varus different and what other champs are like that
Around 29:00 you mention the Xayah longsword start, and that she got nothing out of it so that you will start outscaling. I don't understand the logic there. If she starts with longsword, she should (if you weren't smurfing) just reach her Mythic sooner. Meanwhile the stats from Doran's Blade are going to become negligible pretty quickly. So how does Doran's Blade help you scale? Seems like the opposite, to me. What am I missing?
Long Sword start helps you reach powerspikes faster, but these powerspikes are very temporary. Assuming we are perfectly even, she will hit her mythic about 1 minute sooner than I will. So for ONE minute, she will have mythic while I don't. Except not even that, because while she bases for mythic I will be free-farming one wave, which leaves her with only one more wave, or approximately 30 seconds, to abuse her mythic advantage. If she fails to get prio in these 30 seconds? Then I free shove another wave and base for mythic, and now I have mythic + Doran's Blade to only mythic. Should she try and base again to try and fully match my item advantage, the only things she can pick up, Long Sword and Dagger, are not going to be as strong as my Doran's Blade. Basically I am stronger up until her 2nd item completion, which she again hits 350 gold or about 1 minute faster, and then she has 1 minute to actually try and gain an advantage from that; except in reality its again more like 30 seconds because some of that time is wasted on her recall while I continue farming. There are of course other breakpoints to consider, such as Zeal or BF Sword, but ultimately the windows of time you have to abuse your Doran's Blade advantage are much greater than the windows you have to abuse a temporary powerspike advantage, since once one ADC starts Doran's Blade and the other doesn't, that advantage never gets neutralized except during those temporary powerspikes. In reality though, this rarely even plays out this way anyway. People often don't base the instant they have enough gold for an item. In lane for example, even if you have prio you'd usually still rather wait until the next wave is a cannon wave before basing. In the mid-game, it might just not be a good time to base, maybe drake is up or your team is postured in a way where a fight could break out any second and you don't trust them not to fight during your recall. There are a lot of times where that +350g towards mythic, or any other powerspike, still results in both ADCs basing for that powerspike at the same time anyway. So in reality, it's not impossible to benefit from a faster powerspike from Long Sword start, especially mythic powerspike, but it's much less likely to happen than benefitting from having Doran's Blade over Long Sword/Dagger advantage. The Doran's ADC is tankier and has far more sustain (in the long run that 2.5% omnivamp adds up to a lot of healing) than the Long Sword start ADC. And since abusing the faster powerspikes is extremely unreliable, the only reliable advantage Long Sword start actually has over Doran's Blade is using the 3 potions to outsustain the opponent to get a better base. The timestamp in the video is me trying to showcase how the Doran's Blade user can neutralize that advantage by simply taking a calculated early base before the Long Sword user has even used all their potions, ergo not being able to take full advantage of the sustain advantage they had. It would been better if I had prio, but I wouldn't have had that even with Long Sword start since it was mostly down to Pantheon being scary that I couldn't walk up. Instead it's just lucky that Xayah chose to base at the same time as me anyway so wasn't around to shove in a wave. In the end she missed 4 CS from her base while I missed 5, so basically her Long Sword start yielded her a 1 CS advantage, which is not sufficient enough to make up for me now having a Doran's Blade advantage for the next ~20 minutes. With Long Sword start you at a minimum need to be forcing the enemy bot to base early and miss a full wave under turret while you only miss 1-2 CS max, but ideally need to have a kill advantage for it to undeniably pay off (and that kill advantage has to have happened specifically because of Long Sword). In the end I prefer Doran's Blade because it's much more consistently good.
@@VaporaDark Okay, that's a much more elaborate explanation than I was expecting but I do very much appreciate it! And it sounds reasonable, so I will try Doran's Blade in my own games, then. I've been going Longsword + 3 pots for as long as I can remember, very curious to see if I can notice a difference. Thanks!
Without knowing which scenarios you're referring to, it's either a mistake, or I was conserving mana to use my Q for DPS when I get into fights, since I was using a DPS build rather than a poke build.

Great vid bud, thanks a lot. I think though that after u use ult on varus, u have to use E to detonate the 3 blight stacks that his ult appplies, then u auto 3 times and use q and that is max dmg, hope it helps!

Finally someone with the "right" secondary runes i say that cuz those green help him so much plus with the ahieldbow u can face tank a lot
I am curious, when it comes to lethality build or AP build, do you consider it is viable to play Varus bot lane that way? , in the current patch...?
It's viable but really sucks at carrying, only good for winning lane.
I learned a lot on varus thanks to your video!!!!
Why not bone plate?
Why not red for cdr for ult?
On game 5 I'm very confused why Kayle built AD into a malphite with a full AD team. It makes no sense
Low ELO.
I translated the build and runes for wild rift
BT, PD, furor boots, Runaan, Wit's end, Serylda
