11:20 "Experts"?!?! Ridiculous! They weren`t gloryfing anything they even put a warning in the beginning of each episode you people are ridiculous!
NONE. WOKEMOJO
A lot of those older controversial incidents are so minor today.
You're so cute on your channel, marry me?
Most of them yes but you still don't want to say a single negative thing about Islam's last Prophet and I respect that.
True!
For real, like Putin invaded a whole ass country and Biden is a goldfish
Facts I was saying the same but I guess at that time it’s was a big deal
I was watching SNL when the picture incident happened. I was about 15 and a Catholic school girl. I was horrified. Later as and adult and child abuse survivor I found out she was also horribly abused as a child. I understand now why she made such a protest.
She didnt deserve all the back lash that happened...she was trying to bring awareness to something g horrid, and she was right
@sweetsuszie sure, but burning someone in effigy is closer to the holocaust
I didn't agree with Sinead's actions as a younger person back then, admittedly, but I absolutely understand her reasoning and now very much respect her stance as an adult. RIP Sinead!
@@sweetsuszieyeah too much hero worship of frank sinatra help fuel the hate.
She was 100% correct. And received little recognition for being correct
@@nosuchthing8well that’s an insane comment
The VMA performance and Marvin Gaye’s family suing Robin Thick was the end for his music career.
And he's now on Masked Singer, LOL.
He wasn't good anyway
@@jennyfab312 He only capitalized on the fame of his dad Alan Thicke aka Mr. Seaver on Growing Pains.
I can't believe that Miley's infamous Twerking happened a full decade ago. Most of my relatives only know Robin Thicke through this incident, and not because of his music.
But the photoshopped image that replaced Robin Thicke's head with that of Beetlejuice will live on forever lol
I didn't think what she did was bad per se. What I found ridiculous was her trying SO HARD to be edgy.
She could have just sang some music of the genre she was trying to break into.
Or pick a better duet partner
@@Artisan1979 Robin now has no career except on TMS. 😂
@@jennyfab312I agree. I would have been laughing at her desperation if I were in the audience.
May Sinead rest in peace beside her son.
12:29 What is wrong with you, Mojo?
That is NOT having sex, it's rape
That is a disturbing thing to say about rape
They would get demonitized for saying the word rape.
If sinead had done that just after the church scandal cane out, she'd be a hero. Instead she was a martyr. Eh. At least she won in the end.
RIP sinead.
Sinaed is dead? That's sad. No one compares to her.
@@nosuchthing8Yeah, she passed away in July.
What did she win? Her actions basically ruined her life.
The "Wardrobe Malfunction" was so stupid, even back in 2004. Jackson was wearing something over her nipple but everyone lost their minds over a boob
“Home” is one of the best episodes of the X-Files and one of the best episodes in TV yo. Period.
Agreed. Another equally disturbing and excellent show was Millennium, season one episode one.
Sinead O'Conner was demonized so bad for being right
14:19 I think this episode of Maude is so important. It shows that abortion is healthcare and isn’t always about “careless women.” Two people in a healthy marriage decide to terminate a fetus because carrying it to term wouldn’t be safe for mother or child and is not an easy decision.
Thats how glenns death literally happened in the comic that the walking dead is slightly based on
8:28 People were disgusted at what Sinead did but, on hindsight, she had been warning us about the ominous truth about The Pope all along.
RIP Sinead O'Connor. NOBODY can compare 2 U! 😢
As a very young child, a relative Made some sort of joke about not letting a priest in the house unless their pants were on backwards.
I didn't get it then, but it's super obvious now.
Never had been able to watch an episode of hannah montana the same way after that
I’m definitely different 😂
I always pictured her dad going "oh Miley 🤦🤦"
I still remember when Negan was first introduced when he killed Abraham and Glen. I was so speechless and shocked, I also remember how viral it went and the fans reaction to their deaths.
I remember being horrified. I stopped watching the show after that episode.
Sansas wedding night was more offensive than lighting a child on fire??
'Murica
You should read the book version. Yech!
Nobody said a thing when Dany, who was only 14, was given to Khal Drogo.
I didn't hear any outrage where they killed children and infants in season 2, or when Craster's wives were being raped by the Night's Watch deserters. Selective outrage is hilarious.
Emily in Paris is a disgrace
c'est surtout nul a chier, dans un paris qui n'a jamais existé
I’m pretty sure a lot of moments in Game of Thrones could fill up a Top 20 List
I'm from Brazil and trust me, the only wrong thing about that Simpsons' episode was the monkeys on streets and rats, we don't have those walking freely. But the rest, especially today, are very accurate.
The Simpsons did more of a hatchet job on Ireland than Brazil! But to be fair least we can take it as "a bit of craic" ☘️☘️☘️
"It got a lot nicer when we sent the idiots to America where you for some reason made them police officers..." 😂
The "wardrobe malfunction" incident demonised Janet Jackson while Justin Timberlake received almost no blowback. A perfect example of misogyny in the entertainment industry.
Yet people are coming for Justins neck now, but Janet has said a million times it wasn't Justin's fault at all.
@@Jodi_JohnsonBut Janet was essentially blacklisted.
@@fromthehaven94 Justin apologized but his sorry feel flat. BTW the main culprit is Les Moonves.
Les Moonves, the main man of CBS at the time, is the main culprit, bud. At least he got karma, LOL.
@drmanhattan5970 IKR.
The US owes Janet an apology
An honorable mention should go to the Beavis and Butthead episode "Heroes". And I don't know if this counts. But what the interracial kiss between Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Uhura in 1968 in the Star Trek episode "Plato's Stepchildren"?
That Star Trek episode definitely should've been on this list.
Beavis and Butthead aren't meant to be taken seriously.
Never understood why blamed janet for the malfunction when it was justin was the one who ripped the dress. Wth.
Oh we know why SHE was vilified and his career skyrocketed.
@@jennyfab312 true but with the me too movement u would think that the fact would apologize to Janet for something that was not her fault. Too much is reverting historically for women. So scared for my kids and next generation
The x-files holds up for how old it is.
I think it's very upsetting that so many female actresses coming off of being a Disney "princess" feel the need to immediately go to X-rated acts to show they're adults now. Hilary & Haley Duff didn't, Aly and AJ Michalka didn't....Raven Symone, Christy Carlson Romano, and of course, Zendaya, all matured without going crazy. Miley is so damned talented, that was so sad to see.
True but you got to realize..some of these kids were being pushed into showbiz. Billy Ray even admitted to pushing Miley Into it. Everyone knows how controversial Disney is and what gones on behind the scenes . These kids really didn't have a choice and being forced into something you don't want to do will cause you to be rebellious.. speaking from experience
Ashley Tisdale too.
@@thelifeofsweetangelchristi817 Rebellious, absolutely. Becoming a dumpster fire is a whole other story.
NO! No! Why did you have to remind me about Glenn 😭 right before bed too
That thumbnail is controversial enough
Sopranos ending... was genius.
If you can't come up with what likely went down then you have no imagination
I like to think he went quietly since carm and the kids were there
I disagree!
@@tiananesbitt7156 thats okay too
@@stevenhochlander1630 I know! And I know the creator has said Tony dies after the cut, but I don't know why everyone needs to see that
Next: top 10 more controversial cartoon episodes
And O'Conner was 1000% accurate! 🤨
i never understood, like in the case of the seinfeld episode mentioned, when a character does something dispacable and all the other characters call them out on it, its kind of the point that what the person did was bad. for people in the real world then to get even more upset its like, well, its like getting mad at a superhero villain for being too villainous. idk how else to really describe it, but when did it not become ok to have characters with flaws, when did they start getting mad that Bad Guys do bad guy stuff, or that heros aren't always pure and perfect?
I heard about the Super Bowl XXXVIII Halftime Show incident when I was a High School Freshman
People need to learn to not take jokes so seriously.
none of these are jokes
Watched The Sopranos for the first time last year. When I got to the ending and the screen went black I literally cried like a baby and just said “damn it Tony!” Never will there be another James Gandolfini you’re missed the only and only Anthony Soprano ❤️
Yeah that series was on another level
Tom Cruise and that hysterical laugh with those dead and expressionless eyes
Who the hell got Maude pregnant? That's the real controversy
Seriously….gross
A great crossover episode...it was Mr. Roper. That salty dog.
Thanks, haven't seen the Sopranos
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! Rest in peace, Sinéad..
Where is Madonna in this list? Wtf?
When Jessica Simpson and Beyonce were accused of lip-synching their music with Beyonce the national anthem and when Rosanne sang the song and was accused of disrespecting the flag when she attempted to spit like a ball player.
Kirk and Uhura's kiss on "Star Trek"?
Not real kiss. Forced by aliens
Can you do top 10 members of Marvel's West Coast Avengers?
Robin thick and Miley Cyrus about to fuse into Beetlejuice
💀💀😂😂😂😂
Good for Sinead.
Seen these„incidents“ at least 10 times in the last 3 months
16:29 not surprised that’s no.1
I completely forgot Bill Mahr said that
I don't really get it. Did he say more? Because, in the video here, he just repeated what his guest said, and I'm guessing they aren't talking about slavery at all
@@Jodi_Johnson yea they cut it when he says "I'm a house n****r"
Can you do comic book origin of Marvel's West Coast Avengers?
I heard of most of these. The one exception was #1.
I miss Steven Colbert so much!
Didn't R. Budd Dwyer literally kill himself on live television? That should have been no. 1.
HBO as never shy of R rated shows!
Solution for all of this: "Fucking turn off the TV"
And Sinéad was right all along
That rape scene from America Horror Story is really extreme. A real nightmare.
Gollum and beetlejuice 🤢
My Sinead rest in peace.😢😢
Xfiles - home was awesome
Here are my thoughts…
🙊 #19 was scandalous for network TV (or a police drama) back then.
😴 Dallas’ dream season is a perfect example of jumping the shark.
🐀 Not the colorful rats on “The Simpsons.”
😳 I remember seeing the aftermath of Miley’s performance - people were *horrified.*
😱 I was *not* expecting #10, especially from this Stephen Colbert. Then again, I don’t watch him regularly.
😥 Gosh, Hannah’s death in “13 Reasons Why” is *brutal* to watch.
👺 Oh my… the “AHS” scene is crazy.
🪧 I never knew Maude got an abortion until now.
🤯 Oprah was on that “Ellen” episode?
🤔 Honestly, I would’ve imagined something other than Bill Maher’s N-word usage being #1.
Which "N" word? Liberals Racist way to say "Nigger". Quit saying that phrase if the word is that bad. (Except in Rap & Hip Hop lol)
Then his next show HBO brought on some of the worst black racists they could find while Bill prostrates himself
I chuckled when I saw the twerk. If people are really gonna spend time worrying about it, they sound pathetic.
Tom Cruise is probably bipolar.
Justin Timberlake just threw Janet under the bus.
Tbh I thought the Puerto Rican day parade episode was actually kinda funny. That said, you gotta take pride out of the equation.
It was hilarious it’s only highlighting Kramers idiocy… people are either bored or too stupid and sensitive. Me being Latino , I see a lot of people being overly patriotic to the point they over look their respective countries flaws. No one people are perfect and being able to laugh at each other is a true joy of life . Too many people are simply angry for the heck of it.
Sinead O’Connor was right for doing what she did
how was he right
I remember watching it live. I was too young to understand wtf she was doing but the silence from the audience told me all I needed to know.
@@jimbo9208She called out the rampant sex abuse in the church that is hugely obvious in hindsight. Google is your friend.
Personally, I love the joke in Bojack Horseman where it turns out there *IS* an actual ending to The Sapranos but it was accidentally torn off the reel by Todd
I have had actual nightmares are number 7. Ahc is always wild.
Look at Ellen DeGeneres NOW 😂
What about the ‘Different Strokes’ episode that was about pedophilia?
In an earlier episode they tell Tony death is like an off switch, it just goes to black. Then he is shot and it just fades to black..
Why does miley do that with her tongue?? I know its supposed to be suggestive but it looks like she has epilepsy or something.
Because she thinks she's sexy and shocking. She's not. Anyone can do that.
To lick “something”
15:21 is that Walter from the big Lebowski?
This should be retitled The Greatest TV moments of all time. This is what makes good TV. 🤭😌
I would of put the whole last season of Game of Thrones as number 1.
#3 -- How come when this is brought up, hardly anyone mentions that Muhammad was freely shown in the "Super Best Friends" episode and (almost?) no one at the time gave it a second thought.
Sopranos ending is genius and if you don't get it I'm sorry for you
Oh nooooo! The French are offended! 😂
Steve Harvey's mistake in 2015 Miss Universe anyone?
Re The Sopranos cutting to black. There is a brilliant Australian show called Mr Inbetween which also cuts to black at the final scene of season 3. If you haven't seen it, watch it ASAP !
Stephen colbert>
So people went crazy becoz of Cyprus twerking 😅😅😂😂😂
I had a feeling Maher would be somewhere on the list, but I had no idea he’d get the #1 spot.
SINEAD WAS RIGHT!
Kanye west deserves at least 5 spots on this list.
Most of his stuff wasn’t done on tv besides the Taylor swift incident which I think was more controversial then Miley twerking
I still don't think that there could have been a better ending to The Sopranos. (Except maybe for Bojack Horseman, "Tony marries doctor Melfi!? Mamma mia!!!" lol). It said what it had to say, no matter if Tony died at that point, he was going to be paranoid and believe that death could be coming from anyone from that point on.
I mean I’m France no one was nice to me so 🤷🏽♂️🤣
The truth hurts Brazil.
I have watched "home" the peacock family episode 100x. It was never banned or if it was, it was years ago 😊
It would have been better to make separate lists organized by decade.
Umm the half time show was not the 9th. That was very big
I kinda have a crush on Mr Burns
Wth 😂
@@cwytchsparks I don't see why it's so funny, it's not like any of the other guys in Springfield would be interested in me
@@EdnaK728 It's funny to me because I never heard anyone ever say they have a crush on Mr. Burns
@@cwytchsparks I'll admit, sometimes I don't understand why I like him so much.... but I also kinda like Sideshow Bob and Sideshow Mel too
Rudy Guiliani where?
Ok list.
Sinead O'Connor had it right!
When Rosie Odonald "came out" after Ellen america went, Ho Hum, tell us something we didn't know.
I have seen a meme of instead of Robin Thicke it was Beetlejuice behind Miley Cyrus because of the suit that's still funny when I see or think about it it will never not be funny . His fame took a freefall after that not just because that but him begging his wife to come back to him ,the Marvin Gaye thing & the girl from the video Emily Ratajkowsky accusing him of groping her on the Blurred Lines music video filming. I watched the 13 Reasons why mostly because it was produced by Selena Gomez but was actually mostly good the first season anyway. The graphic showing of her sucide & her mother's reaction was to do the opposite of glamorizing it that she was going through agonizing pain that lead her to it and it wasn't just as simple as "oh I'm going to kill myself " and then it be over in a second no it was about showing that if you do that it's not going to be over instaniously like a lot of stuff on TV shows & her mother was horrified and wanted to know why & the boy that was her friend and had a crush on her was haunted by the memory of her.
Ellen is gay?!?!
What?!?!
I never knew that!
Miley Cyrus, and this performance is the definition of second-hand cringe. Every time I see it, I am overwhelmingly embarrassed for her. So much is wrong with this. It’s disturbing.
6:52
They’ve portrayed Springfield as poor or as a rough crime ridden area before, so 🤷🏼♂️
