You bet. I went to the dealership multiple times and they had no idea what they were doing. It was like they let their summer intern's practice on my truck.
If you're just removing the radio to repair or replace it and putting it back you only need to put the shifter in drive to get the clearance to lay the bezel down enough to remove the radio bolts. No need to pull that whole panel.

No I never got around to it. Its really easy to do though once you get the bezel out. Just pick out a space that will accommodate it, mark it out and carefully cut it out.
Thank you this was very helpful. Do you know how to test the radio to see if it's completely toast without replacing it first. Mine kept making this loud bang type noise from the radio and then stopped working several times in the last six weeks. My right headlight bulb was also blowing out on a regular basis and for some reason the radio was killing my battery. After checking the headlight wiring harness at a garage, it had to be replaced. I was then told by the dealer that a replacement radio for my 2011 ram 1500 set quad cab was going to cost $800.00 dollars and it would not be a new one but a refurbished one. Can anyone help? Thank you CAT
Man sorry to hear that! You could take it to a place that sells and installs aftermarket radios and they could bench test it, or maybe you could take it into a Dodge dealership and have them test it out. What is the radio currently doing with the headlight fixed? Also you can find factory radios on eBay for nothing, or go to a scrap yard. They always have them too for 200 - 300 bucks.
I have a question ! So I took my radio out and it left a huge gap I accidentally put my ring there and now it went inside the whole and idk how to get it out any recommendations?!! Please help
@@MechanicLife I just mean all the lights for yes the AC and everything else as well that have that stock green. I just want them all to be white. Unless are the buttons tinted green on the plastic itself you tihnk?
Hey Lukes Garage i had a question, i want to run my switches for my LED lights into the bezzel around the radio, i have 3 switches and id like them all together so is it possible to take the outlet switch and wiring and move it to a different empty spot? Say the far left one. Thanks in advance hopefully i hear back from you
Its totally possible to move the outlet. The other side of the bezel is the dial for the 4WD though... I mounted dial switches for my heated seats in the bezel per the video below. Was a great spot for them as it was easy to get to and had loads of room to cut in the switches. Moving the outlet out of that spot will take some modification to make it look right afterwards. Oh im sorry i wasnt super clear i ment the actual button by the hazard lights to turn on the outlet, ill definitely send you some pictures if i find a way to do it and see what you think of the end result
That makes more sense. You should be able to move that switch to the blank space for sure and use the others. Would love to see some pics if you end up doing it!
In the front pocket where the rubber tray is, between the bezel and the center console trim, is there a rectangular hole in your bezel? Seems like im missing something

Yes when you pull the rubber out there is a rectangular hole. Cant see it when the rubber in in place though.

My shifter is on my steering column does that make a difference
I don’t think it do just look for screws to undo and you’ll be fine to replace fix or reconnect any components
