Absolutely true. I wanna share a story! Just after high school I worked at a Whataburger. When someone would order a double cheese double meat burger (it was alphabetical for some stupid reason) it would read like 'Dbl CheWbr,' or a Double Cheese Whataburger. My friend, on also getting hired (there were five of us friends all working there) couldn't read it and called it a Double Chewbacca. So, a Single Chewbacca was one meat, one cheese, and a Triple Chewbacca was three patties, three cheeses. From then on, any burger with the same amount of meat and cheese was a Chewbacca, since they were entered differently with different amounts (double meat and single cheese would be like 'Dbl Wbr +Chz', for 'double whataburger plus a cheese slice). I still call burgers with the same amount of patties and cheese slices 'Chewbaccas'
OH, RIGHT The one time, a Mr. Moneybags came in and ordered a triple with crispy chicken patties instead of beef. He looked very confused when they called back for a Triple Crispy Chicken Chewbacca.

This is so funny. i love how Dan just randomly asks Arin what he thinks his character is then just drops insane backstory and motivations for his character and how it relates to Arin's. Like THE IMMERSION. I am living for this playthrough. Also when Arin said this was a roguelike, I thought he was kidding. He was not. Amazing. Can't wait to watch more of this and then binge (then having the playlist of them screaming as restaurant owners as background music for concentration.)
I ain't gonna give them a hard time at all. I bought this game a couple days ago and it really does a terrible job of conveying what anything does. That research table took me forever to figure out how to get it to work. After 12 hours, I still don't understand what half the icons mean.
I thought it was self brew thinga ma jig. it took them saying trash can like five times before i realized that ‘hey that actually is a trash can. Oscar certified. he’s moving in next week.’
List of tips. 1: the cabinet is the green filing cabinet. If you put a blueprint (the buyable items *before* you pay for them, not after) in it you can hold onto it if you don't have enough money for it on the day it shows up. 2: the research desk when placed next to the cabinet can upgrade whatever item is in it. As for what each upgrade does its a matter of trial and error 3: by placing two tables next to each other it becomes one table with six seats. Each table can only have one group at them even if that group is one person. 4: you can actually remove chairs from the table to make more space. I suggest putting the table in a corner or against the wall since and only have 2 seats since the number of customers is rarely more than 2, but feel free to do as you please bc it might go higher in later rounds 5: placing items outside deletes them. Probably already heard that one 1000 times from the other comments, but figured it couldn't hurt to say something.
Man if they ever figure out holding a plate and picking up ingredients with it, instead of setting a plate out and carrying stuff to it one at a time, their minds will explode

To be fair, the instructions aren’t very clear. I couldn’t figure out what upgrade a blueprint in an adjacent cabinet means either. Does it upgrade things it sits next to? What does it mean by cabinet? Cabinets are just storage. Does it just upgrade cabinets and nothing else?

"upgrades blueprint in adjacent cabinet" is pretty straightforward itself, but since blueprint cabinets are pre-installed from the first day (the blue-green filing cabinet), it ends up being a matter of ending up with a new blueprint for one and reading *that* description to understand (or somehow quickly figuring out the lesser-known piece of info that the ping system lets you see the descriptions of placed items)

While not the most direct learning. I think it can be figured out. I mean I had figured it out when I played just by fuckin about and muddling through.

I'm so glad you guys are playing this game, it's the most chaotic fun my group has had in a long time 💙💙 If you would like, I can offer a couple tips: -you save/upgrade blueprints if you put them in the green file cabinet, between rounds -It's max 2 guests per group, so you can put the tables against the walls, make them only have 2 seats (using X), and save a lot of room! -you can use the phone to call more guests in the slower early days to get more money while it's easy ☺️ I don't know that you'll ever see this, but anyone who does, I hope you have a great day!! 💙

Glad to see you're enjoying the game! To use the research table you need to have it next to the filing cabinet. Things can only be upgraded while in blueprint form and the blueprints have to be in the filing cabinet in order to be upgraded. It's one blueprint per filing cabinet as well. Also if you see a blueprint you want but can't afford you can put it in the filing cabinet and it'll be safe there until you can afford it.
I play this game with my girlfriend and after 250 hours, it is still insanely fun! You can have a fully automatic kitchen with automations! I really hope they return to this game! Love their banter! Also... Arin... For the love of God, put that research desk next to the file cabinet and put cards inside!! ❤

I love the idea of being in a restaurant, ordering something off the menu, and then hearing the waiter call out something into the kitchen, followed by a muffled confused voice calling back, "I don't know what that is, we never established these names beforehand!" Even in the game logic, I don't understand why having too many customers makes you fail. I get that you wanna get customers in but why is losing a single customer because you're full an auto fail state? Seems silly
To use the research table.... put it next to the blueprint cabinet. put an upgradeable blueprint in the cabinet. during the service, go and "use/research" on the table. It will upgrade the blueprint in the cabinet. Use can buy the new blueprint after the service.
If you plan on making this a series, I got some tips: -If you have too much stuff or too many counters, you can place them outside to trash them. -You can get rid of extra chairs on tables. -if you ever have a fish restaurant and you choose the crabs card the fish and crabs will switch out sometimes -After earning a star, you’ll get some flooring and wallpaper that you can use to decorate the restaurant
i work in a food truck and when i come off my shift i hear my mother-in-law (owner) just screaming at the top of her lungs in spanish. needless to say our food truck is a local hot spot.

Even in the game logic, I don't understand why having too many customers makes you fail. I get that you wanna get customers in but why is losing a single customer because you're full an auto fail state? Seems silly

To use the research table.... put it next to the blueprint cabinet. put an upgradeable blueprint in the cabinet. during the service, go and "use/research" on the table. It will upgrade the blueprint in the cabinet. Use can buy the new blueprint after the service.

If you plan on making this a series, I got some tips:
-If you have too much stuff or too many counters, you can place them outside to trash them.
-You can get rid of extra chairs on tables.
-if you ever have a fish restaurant and you choose the crabs card the fish and crabs will switch out sometimes
-After earning a star, you’ll get some flooring and wallpaper that you can use to decorate the restaurant
