I first started watching Lessei on Midwest Kickboxing Championship and knew he was something special; had no idea he was up soon to compete in One Championship

more authentic muay thai training, damn..he has to utilize his height more with that distance he can do some damage with some good training,
been watching Lessei for a while, he definitely deserves to be up there at One, what a debut

One of the best mauy thai fights I have seen this year at ONE. Luke showed himself to be a true competitor and jo is a beast both have bright careers ahead of them.

I think he’s number 1 ranked in the US at 155. Saw his fights on YT a couple of years ago and know he got the flair and style to back it up. He look sharp and was dismantling his opponent granted it wasn’t a world class level. Huge respect to the Chef and Jo. Future title contender as I see it.
We wouldn’t know if he was #1 at 55 because he refused to fight any of the top 55ers. For example, Peter Stanoik, Gary Mack, or Nick Chasteen.
@@MolecularMuayThaiYou do not know what you are talking about. Luke was scheduled to fight Nick, but got the call and an exclusive contract for ONE Championship. Luke did not refuse to fight anyone. Luke is a professional fighter. He does not make the match. A promoter needs to make the match and the compensation needs to be reasonable. This is not amateurs trying to prove they are tough.
@@rasdno Luke has literally turned down fights with promotions. Don’t act like matchmakers weren’t trying to make those fights because I know multiple that were.
Ive been watching the chef cook for a little bit, and nothing but respect for him. Not only for his respect for the art, but also for the respect he has for the culture. Hope to see him again in the ring soon

Lessei has won the TBA (which is north America’s largest Muay Thai tournament) at least 13 times from what I understand. He took this fight on short notice and from what I saw, he won. Excellent work Luke 🙏🏻

Everyone was talking about how Lessi is a nobody. He absorbed those shots like a champ, and clearly would have finished Jo if the fight went on longer. Jo was clinging for his dear life towards the end.

The Chef is a complete monster, legend in the making. Both fighters are amazing.
The durability of the American guy is just beond everthing I have ever seen, I don't know how many hard hits this guy took but he did not go down. In fact in the last minute of the fight the American came back as if the fight had just started - Nattawut had to safe himself into holding on otherwise he would have gone down. Deep respect to this long and not very muscular looking fighter from America! During the first rounfd I thought to myself it is an unfair fight and Lessei would go down every second. This was something special - great fight.

This was a great Muay Thai match
It's actually extremely crazy to me that these two fought especially because I've trained with both of them a few times before.

Uff that will be very hard as in this weight class will be Tawanchai, Haggerty, maybe even Rodtang if he moves up one class and maybe Superlek, and a few other great fighters - there is dense competition. But who knows his durability is beond everything I ever saw in the fighting game.

It’s not about damage in Muay Thai but about KICKS, elbows and knees, punch are worth nothing. 3rd goes to Luke, and I guess 1 and 2 to Jo. Nonetheless very close fight

I trained with Luke for around 3 years, he's the spitting image of his father Dean. Amazing teacher, and an amazing gym. Luke has the heart of a lion, and cannot wait to see more of him in ONE Championship
Quality fight
American lad did well, his durability and chin are to be proud of. Yet even if he won by knockout it wouldn't justify fully the punishment he withstood. Thai isn't nearly as much of an iron chin as the American. Congrats for the fight 🎉
Nattawut had never been knocked out in his whole carreer and he is aged 34 now, so you can't state that Nattawut is not durable - you are right that in the last minute Nattawut had to hold on for dear life as he had weak, wabbling knees! So yes the Amercan durability is beond everything I saw from such 'medium althletic' guy (i do not mean this negative just by the first look of it as I never saw him ahead of this fight, so this was my first impression, man had I been wrong!), in fact I asked myself is Lessei even made of blood, meat and bones? Astonishing!
At 1:53 jo get knocked down but as usual the thai boss and thai judge never let thai fighter even actualy loss like dany bill vs nokweed in their hometown, except thai fighter get knocked out😂

Much tougher? STFU. Both these guys were harder than a coffin nail, Lessie could easily have won if this were 5 rounds he was proper hurting Smokin Jo in the last round. FOTY for sure.
