Honestly, just watched the television show based on the book. I’m not as big of a reader as you, but I can say that your review of the book makes me want to go get it. The show is very weird, but amazing. Oddly enough, the show I kept thinking about during Interior Chinatown was WandaVision. I can see being confused by the writing style of the story, because the show does the same thing, but then that’s when you breach something beyond the surface level of if all. Hope you watch the show, but I’m going to go get this book thanks to you! Also, I feel like I just found a gem when it comes to a channel.
Definitely late on the recommendation but if you want further Charles Yu stuff, his other novel How To Live Safely In A Science-Fictional Universe is also fantastic. Similar deconstructions, albeit in a more familiar format. His short story collections might have the brightest gems though. Sorry, Please, Thank You (title) was a collection that left a profound impact on me and that I revisit every couple of years. Thanks for the review!
