As a Greek from the UK I have no use for Isizulu but it's such a beautiful language I want to learn lots of it . Thank you for you excellent tuition 🙏🧿
I am glad to have found this channel. There is so many people online who want to learn I will recommend. Ufundisa kahle, uyayishaya lento and beautiful voice as well.
I did isizulu in primary, got 100% each year till i got to highschool and had to take afrikaans. Im indian, and i like this video because its the same as going overseas and wanting to speak their language. But we need to start at home, with our home languages. Thank you for this video🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Subscribed. Best way to learn zulu, and you speak very clearly. Wish I've learned Zulu at a younger age. As a South African, I think it's the most important language to know, for breaking the communication barrier between cultures. But I'll learn it, and master it some day
I am so glad that at least am able to contract short sentences. Amazing. I am you pointed it out that there is no GENDER in isiZulu language,..so profound.
Thanks so much for your videos, as they have been extremely helpful. For those of us South Africans who were born and raised in exile during the Apartheid era, most of us have a hard time learning our native language. Growing up in the 70's & 80's, my parents spoke Zulu to each other, but spoke English with us and the environment in Chicago wasn't conducive to us learning or speaking Zulu with anyone outside the home. Its one of my many regrets that i didn't make an effort to learn the language as a youth cause now as an adult, it sometimes makes it hard to communicate with relatives when i go back to South Africa. Though they all can speak English, the fact that i'm not fluent in Zulu sometimes leaves me out of so many things. It gets tiresome having to ask my cousins to translate for me every time we're at a wedding or a funeral, or any large gathering. Hopefully in time, with your help, i'll overcome this obstacle and be able to speak, and write in Zulu with no problem.
Maphitha! Jobe kaMatshana! I'm so glad that you are finding the lessons helpful. There are some live group lessons. One group just started last month. So they haven't gone THAT far. The other group started last Saturday. They will be meeting on Saturdays at 12 EST. Also, it would be so nice if you can form a group with people who are also learning like you, who are in the US. There are some in the MidWest states in both groups. Important is to give yourself grace. You will learn in due time. I'm glad that you have cousins you can rely on for translations. That helps a lot. Watch some TV shows here on TH-cam and Netflix. They have subtitles. Read the newspapers (Ilanga and Isolezwe), they are helpful. Read children's stories, those are so so so great! You'll get there. Keep working on it. Ngiyabonga Maphitha!
as a teacher who did isiZulu HL in high school and varsity, i have found your videos very very helpful, thank you so much you are doing the Lord's work. my problem was i couldnt water down my knowledge for my FAL and SAL learners to understand, so on some of the days i just play them your videos, ofcouse i have to pause every now and then for them to repeat and sound out. THANK YOU
I wanted to learn Zulu long back but couldn't find someone to teach me. Thank God i found this channel. You have gained a new subscriber here. Thenk you
I don't if its only me but i understood zulu quickly when someone was speaking because some of the words are close to my native language shona, my problem is in responding and engaging in a conversation, thank you for your videos you really break them down so that they become easier to digest
Oh I'm so happy to hear that Munyaradzi. Mazvita. Yes, when someone speaks Shona slowly, I can understand too. We do have an adult class that is supposed to start soon. But I think it might be too easy for you because you would know all the greetings and stuff like that already. SO I would say, meet someone and ask them to meet you maybe once per week, in person or via whatsapp video call. You can then chat in isiZulu. About any topic. Then you can work on responding in isiZulu as much as you can.
I have to go to South Africa for work, and may have an amazing opportunity to work with Farmers, I am a farmer too, would love to learn IsiZulu, your videos make it seem easy, thank you for sharing.
Wow as an English speaker very eager to learn zulu,I understand way better than before, thanks to your explaining especially to the simplest form. Thanks will continue to learn through your videos
Which songs do you listen to. Post some of their links here. Then I can see if I can go through one of them. I've just (right now) finished making a video about Sbu Noah's new song "Hlala nami". Music helps us to learn languages more easily.
