There is no bad in beautiful masjid. Jannah is more beautiful. What is bad is muslim having sect killing each other due to having different sect. Nimaz is important. It is also bad to say other as bad. We all are son of Adam. Even suliaman a.s beautiful and magnificent building.
Definitely, instead of beautifying the masaajid, that money can be put to better use through improving the Islamic education system and community upliftment programmes, may ALLAAH reward those who contributed towards building these houses of worship.

You can find a lot unique mosque architecture in indonesia. Sometime it doesn't have dome, there's some mosque with hinduism architecture, Chinese architecture, and local architecture style..
