Am from India and a Parsi. The video was one of a kind. It wld remain a dream to see a Parsi colony in Pakistan if it wasn't for you. Yes you were true to every word that spiritualism has to be from inside and not just a show off. If you wanna achieve spiritual destination than just follow 3 things.....viz. good words, good thoughts and good deeds. Accha bolo, accha socho aur acche karm Karo. Thank you once again for this video. Really appreciated your efforts. God Bless

@honourableadvocate3499 No. You have to be born into a Parsi family. In some modern communities, they are starting to allow mixed marriages and accepting children into the faith as long as one parent is Parsi.

Very well spoken, thank you, I am a zorastrian, lived in this Parsi colony ,I am now in Canada. You spoke so highly of us.
You too are a very learned person.
I am a proud Pakistani, when we were growing up there, we were respected, I still love Pakistan & I Peay that Imran Khan comes back to power & bring our country up. I am now almost 76 years old. I have seen it all,I left Pakistan in 1971, my last visit was in 2003, I was sad & shocked to see what has happened to our beautiful country.
There is still hope, I wish to Allah for help. One day soon together we can change it. GL to all Pakistan Zindabad.,

I have seen Parsi colony in my school days, as my teachers were parsis and lived there. These people are very respectful and generous. Groomed to the highest interms of education and personality. I miss my parsi friends, teachers and my very best school. Nowadays, there is nothing like it of any sort. Thank u for making this video and rekindling the dying light of those golden times.

Parsi community should start renovation soon. I respect Parsi community for their good deeds and good thinking in life.
This housing area is just one of thousands of Parsi community precious places around Karachi. Until a couple of decades, this community was active in the administration of Karachi. Their quarters were only crime free & bright regions of Karachi those days, eg, Victoria Road, Metropole, Elphinstone Street, Clinton Road, BVS, Mama Parsi, etc are only a few of them.
Conspiracy against Parsi community is one of several conspiracies that deprived Pakistan from modernization, advancement and infrastructure development. Pakistan will never prosper without good deeds and good thinking in our life.

There is one Parsi colony in Quetta too.. It is in better condition compared to this one. I've seen Zoroastrians strolling on the streets of Elfinston street (zaibunnisa) in my early childhood. Saddar was a posh area, very neat and clean, book shops, tea houses and very iconic Tram service. Parsis are the great contributors towards the heritage of karachi building schools, colleges n hospitals. They were extremely progressive, non violent and friendly souls. We've destroyed our city, our people and our culture. If they had to migrate to Canada than we've only ourselves to blame

Many videos have been made about this beautiful place i.e. Parsi Colony and I tell you guys that despite watching all those, I still watched this one and enjoyed it!
I often visit this place to refresh my mind and my wife and elder son love it too...
Those beautiful old houses with small walls and the British Raj style(d) architecture are the actual heritage of Karachi.
It's sad to see that this place is almost (completely) deserted now - with a few houses being exception!
However, there's another Parsi Colony, which is located in DHA Phase I, Karachi, PK - however, that place was built much later i.e. in the 60s; I reckon but it can no way be of any comparison to the real Parsi Colony ❤
Most of the old city area (as it's now known - referred to the actual Karachi of the British India) is in more or less the same condition...
Sad to see the real Karachi dying like this!
Good work though - thanks Zyad.

Hi Zyad, Thank you so much. You took a video of Parsi Colony where I grew up. The state the colony is in now is quite sad. We left in 1995. It was an amazing place to grow up. I have fond memories of growing up in an oasis surrounded by the hustle & bustle that is Karachi. I remember having full reign of the colony. It was safe, clean & was home for us. I learnt to ride my bike& later my car in those streets. Your video of my home still incited deep memories of my childhood. Thanks a lot. I remember playing many volleyball games in the park you videoed. It is sad to see no one around; but it is also impressive how these homes have stood the test of time. My great great grandfather made our home in 1928 (if i remember reading & remembering the marble plaque correctly) & it still stands today. Thanks & best of luck in your endeavors.

It is very true I too believe in it. I just wanted to inform Parsis very spiritual and they respect all religions but they never show off in public how spiritual they are openly. They have helped so many people in India too. I respect Parsis for their value system. They are rich but they are also the biggest philanthropists in South Asia. They help many people in India too. Some of the great institutions were built by Parsis in India.

At 4 minutes into the video, i recall this house was the most interesting architecture, one of first buildings at start of Parsi colony from Quaid Mazaar side. The boundary wall was very close to the building so it was difficult to photograph from the road. (i used to photograph old buildings from the street.)
The Parsi community have made a very significant contribution to the development of Karachi . Community help is very much a part of their beliefs, they have made many dispensaries, parks, scools and colleges etc. A lot of social work is done by them without any publicity.
I had Parsi classmates, and over 50 years after school, at age 76+ i am happy to say we are still good friends.

Loved this video. ❤ As a parsi who grew up here, thank you for such a wonderful tribute. Aapne hamara purana ghar bhi dekhaya. ❤ Yeh colony itni safe aur lively hoti thi. Lekin ab sab khali aur tutay huay gharoo ko dekh kar afsos hota hai. Karachi agar parsi aur dosray minorities ke liyeh safe hota, toh hum sab apni haveli chor ke ni nikaltey. Aur yeh colony abhi tak lively hoti. Ab yeh ghost town ban gaya hai. Most of us have left karachi due to safety reasons, discrimination, and lack of opportunities for minorities in Pakistan. And those of us left in Karachi prefer other gated parsi communities that are safer than this beautiful, open colony where the streets were open to anyone and so many home invasions and burglaries have occurred. So many strike processions with people firing weapons have also gone through these streets. I remember being locked indoors with windows bolted shut whenever there was a strike. We dared not step out of our homes during a "juloos." It was not safe for us.

As I mentioned earlier, I lived in that Parsi colony, all theses houses were built by Parsis, the land was bought by Parsis, few of my reoations built them, they all have passed on, but some are still living, some houses were built to help those who couldn't afford build their own.
It was strictly for Parsis only. Now others have moved in them, as they were left empty, they have moved abroad and are not interested in returning or occupying their properties. Not a single bunglow belonged to Hindus or any others.
I will always cherish the beautiful memories I made there. I miss Pakistan.

Why so much of resentment for Hindus brother? Hindus also had bunglows in Karachi, we had hospitals and schools too!🤷🏻

@@bloodyclashers4410 All my life we all were together, Hidus, Christians, Parsis etc.
Even today many of my friends are Hindus, there never was any bad feelings between anyone. We all grew up together with love & respect for eachother. What happened 75 years ago, none of us were responsible for that, people did what they did, can't blame any side. Very sad, but let's hope everyone lives in harmony, with love & respect for all.
God has made all of us equal. In my opinion all religions teach the same. There is only one God.

Thank you. For showing the houses of the Parsis of Karachi. I am an Indian and am very proud of our noble race. We call ourselves Parsi Zoroastrians. "Parsi" because we come from a place called Pars in Persia and Zoroastrian is our religion. Our population maybe a drop in the ocean, but we enrich / empower / contribute with largesse to every section of society in INDIA. Thank You Indeed.

This got completely shattered after working in a Parsis company in Mumbai.
The filth, abuses hurled to the poor people working here, even the sincere & noble parsi community may not tolerate. It shows Might ight is right is the basic principle.

my graduation is of 1979 from BVS, moved to US and here I have a good friend Farhad Sheesh Brothren, and i still keep a tap on another good friend Rony Patel who is well known for taking part in Car rallies taking place in PAKISTAN. At that time and age of PAKISTAN AND KARACHI will keep me reminiscing and deep inside I hurt when I see how it is being brought to it's end. It is not only Parsi's who have left but a whole lot of us have left never to come back. Tragic but true. The worst part is when ever I visit and move around, I have to arm myself (which I never did 15 years back or so) but it has become a necessity. Sorry to say but we have lost and we will live in agony till our last breath. Just give a little portion of Sind to the graduates of Mama and BVS, trust me...we can do miracles for the revival of Karachi
