I had a pager when my daughter was a toddler, they are sturdy, I had no problem letting her hold it. As someone living in a EU-member state I still have a big question here. I’m currently studying cybersecurity both physical and digital and our class stopped to talk about this attack. Before we even knew the threat actor we determined that this was almost certainly a physical supply chain attack and the only possible goal was terrorism. We talked about how there had to be a target of civilians because of how prevalent pager use is in the medical field. Basically the entire class confirmed this was an act of terror unconditionally. I worked in a call center that handled doctors offices outside of their hours and nearly all doctors use pagers, even here in America.

What are advantages to pagers compared to like work phone?
@@AnthonySmith-x5z Smaller profile, cheaper, lower tech. A pager is more worn than carried like a phone is. Since it's just a reciever and LCD screen it's battery will last way longer so it's much more reliable than a phone that needs regular charging.

As someone living in a EU-member state I still have a big question here.
The enterprise producing those kind of pagers claimed that they were not behind all this but that they gave a license to a factory in Hungary to produce pagers in their name. I’m currently studying cybersecurity both physical and digital and our class stopped to talk about this attack. Before we even knew the threat actor we determined that this was almost certainly a physical supply chain attack and the only possible goal was terrorism. We talked about how there had to be a target of civilians because of how prevalent pager use is in the medical field. Basically the entire class confirmed this was an act of terror unconditionally.
Today we have a little update and there is a student who is the founder of a “name of my university’s mascot” supporting Israel club. He basically comes in defending Israel relentlessly. Everyone told him that we determined this was an unacceptable action that actively sought hard against civilians.
