Moved to Ft Lauderdale Fl in 1997 from Long Island NY and lived in Ft Lauderdale for nineteen years. I’m in Delray Beach now but can’t wait until the day that I can move back to Ft Lauderdale. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.
Lived here all my life. yes I can't afford it. Rent is. Totally unaffordable. Yet !! If you went down town you see city life. How do they afford it? Oops theres Lauderdale by the sea. They want working class to go away. Beaches are for condo owners !! All others get lost !! Like your not from here opinion. I have figured out how to live here and not pay !! Be honest the city is full up. Traffic sucks. You didn't mention the county bus, guy shot a bunch of people and bus driver crashed into ft Lauderdale police station
Great video Jose, you have a knack of reading areas deeper than most people. You take the statistics with common sense, street smarts and the knowledge of the area, great job!!!
The aggressiveness/rudeness aspect has much to do with most people there being from the NE. Its a lot more crowded and expensive than when I lived there in 80's . Thanks for the video.
I lived there for 2 years and the number of thieves, assholes, cheaters, and backstabbers I encountered was off the charts. I have no love for this place other than riding my bike on A1A Which I do miss. If you are here because you thinking of moving there, I suggest watching the scumbags section in this video, starting at 21:09 a few times.
He was referencing some tangible like oil or farming as opposed to something seasonal like tourism which is intangible. His point was well conveyed and easy to understand
Opinionated comment. Paying for parking via apps is everywhere, even where I am. My personal opinion is its another way to widen the gap between social classes. If you own/rent/borrow a car and want to park it you must also have a working mobile device and at minimum a visa debt card from a bank.
I lived in ft. Lauderdale from 1990 to 2009. the problem of entitlement is off the charts! everybody thinks their better than the next person. But, I have a surprise for you all, it's not just in florida . I live in Vegas now and it's not any different here! By the way, I never was out work until 2009 when construction died, so I left. I miss it, but, then again , I don't!
Just got back from Miami so not to far from Fort lauderdale so I will say this. It was an absolutely amazing time however it has many negatives. It is outrageously expensive to live there, traffic is insane, and the people there are extremely rude. Good place to visit but unless your a millionaire forget about it
I was there for 37 years and you are 100% correct. I literally thought it was normal for people to act the way they do until I moved 2000 miles away. My stress level is zero,I make more money here, and people are real!
I here you bud. What about the traffic lights? It always feels like you're in a race. Gentlemen, start your engine. 3, 2,1, Gooo!! If you wait for 1 second, the driver behind you will bark at you real quick.
I visited Orlando, Florida (I'm from Utah) and this is what annoys me about FL drivers is they don't use their signals (even the cops) and they honk the moment the light turns green. Shitty drivers.
So what over saturation of businesses are you referring to? Have you started a business in Fort Lauderdale? Do you have statistics or where did you hear this information from? I'd truly like to know because I'm thinking of moving there to start a business.
Appreciate your content man!........at 18:11.....I've been looking for a new affordable, diverse city with a decent job market. I came from new york and live in DMV area now....Its interesting because ATL checks off all requirements for me except for diversity. I'm Black/Caribbean and to me it seems like ATL is mostly Black and White American (not saying that the people aren't cool though) and like you said diversity significantly decreases as soon as you get out of ATL surrounding area ....Florida seems like its perfect if you can get over the job issue. I'm looking at Houston too....I guess I could do Florida as long as I lock down a remote IT job, stock investing and selling beats (side hustles) ....or ATL with trips to Florida since its a quick flight.......not sure. I'm still figuring it out
thanks for the vids. very helpful. i'm 50 yrs old, white male nyc born/bred. will be inheriting about $250K in a few years. looking to buy a "cheap" condo and semi retire early until i get top pay from social security in my 60s. can you get a nice place in a nice area for around $200K i just visited tampa and wasn't crazy about any areas.
retiring on 250k, you better already "own" your house, and a cheap house at that.... look on zillow for houses/etc. oh, 250k in 2 years will be worth about 100k
@@jesvans hey num nutz, i won't be retiring on 250k you dolt. i said i'll be using that 250k that i inherit or part of it towards a condo. not a house. a condo! and by semi retire i'll still be working so not worried about income.
You are a bit wrong. This is a major boating hub. The industry is huge here. Lots of jobs there. Spot on some things, otherwise, as a whole, you don't live here. See that bridge that was up on Sunrise? I am just on the other side.
Broward, especially the cities of Ft Lauderdale, Hollywood, and Dania Beach are the best places to live in Florida. Nothing beats coastal Broward. Come here with money! 💰

True!! Fort Lauderdale has beautiful beaches but the craziest Trenches
I like this video! That jump from Sunrise & A1A to the Sawgrass though was a surprise! probably took a good 45 minutes to get there 😉

i didn't met a SINGLE person in the NE who was rude tho..
It's not us from the NE - we know how to stop for people crossing the street. lol that's part of driving live up here.
I’ve been in Florida since ‘95. Love you guys . Keep up the good work.
Florida is way more overcast than I originally thought.
We have got some bad weather days recently in reality there is so much sunshine it’s unbearable

What is the name of the green drink that you see at the beginning of the video? 🍹🤔
idk, but what do Manaties eat ? (see what i did there. no offence to Manaties)

no paid parking where i am, outside shitcago.
Hi A Visa gift card wouldn't work for parking payment ??
You and your wife have really good videos, thank you for sharing, keep it up 🥰

Try Padrinos on Federal Hwy just north of Sunrise blvd
How are the summers in Fort Lauderdale? Is it a lot quieter in the summer months?
No, the traffic reduction is parents arnt driving their kids to school and school buses arnt running. Otherwise it's a mess.
@@cbx500cbx Oh damn I would’ve thought it would be really quiet during the summer due to how hot it is
brutal and yes much slower/quiter
south Florida its quieter, north florida beaches busier due to people from other states like AL and MS and TX
Winter is for retirees and summer is for northeast families on vaca, and spring is for spring break. So there’s a slow month is September.
Thanks very very very very very good video

let me guess your from chicago, new york, and are gonna start a cigar store.. yup.. sure
This is one of your best videos, as you not only show views taken from your car but also parts of "real life" at the location.
Thanks you two ! 👍
we try . audio was bad quality as i recorded this in the car, bad road noise levels
Where it's the restaurant u were eating at it looks so yummy!

I'm moving to South Carolina. Florida has way to many problems.
