Amateur tip, when you hide go into a separate room with a door in between you and the ghost room and close it
They actually mentioned that in an earlier stream, when Gabby hid in a bathroom without shutting the door, and the ghost saw her and killed her.

You can ask the ghost for a sign it is convenient at the Asylum or the High School
You can also legitimately ask the ghost what it is and it will answer (only a select few can like Jinn will flash the lights for yes)
