My Nan moved to the island in 1950 and remained at that location until she died in 1996. I spent most of my holidays as a child there. This video is bittersweet for me as I know so much of the island but it has changed beyond recognition. Thank you for posting this, it was a trip down memory Lane for me. I don’t suppose I will see the island again as I am now 72 and live in South Devon. I have clear memories of unmade roads, goats braising on open ground, Dutch style wood framed cottages and big skies. My brothers and I would catch lizards in the grass along side the dykes. Lots of old plank bridges across the many small drainage dykes. My Nan was in the big flood, evacuated for a time, she lived in Keer Ave, not far from the main wall breach. Members of my family still have flood stained books from that event. So many memories.
