Terrific video. Thank you! I need to convert my old Win XP machine to a vm and run it on a Win7 host. I assume this video will help me to do this. Yes? I hope?
Great video can you do this conversion without having an esxi host on your local network, can the image be saved to just a shared folder on network instead or it has to connect to esxi host as the destination source ?
I'm looking to convert physical installation to vmware virtual machine and then convert that to a format (qcow2) that can be used with proxmox as I want to use free opensource proxmox as a type 1 hypervisor. Do I need to have esxi installed first to accomplish this or can I bypass the Server Settings portion and just create the virtual machine on it's own?
Thanks for a wonderful video. But I have an Error 1935 when I want to install VMware vcenter standalone converter on windows 7. Can you help solve this error. Thanks
Hello, I am writing to you because I have a problem... if I want to download my physical machine to an external disk or to my PC, it throws an error at 98%, which means that it could not be found with the virtual machine, which I don't know why. If this error is due, would you have the opportunity to support me through TeamViewer?. Best Regards Diego Sauceda
Great video! In a case where you have a production server, where there is people working, how would you do? Divide the single stage into two stages, where the first one is the massive one, and a second with lower changes are migrated being finished with a source machine being shutdown and the destination machine start, something like that?
Thanks for your comment. I'd perform this function outside business hours as there could be a performance hit on the server. Once the P2V is complete, I'd power on and test the VM thoroughly with the NIC disabled, ensuring that everything works as expected. I'd then turn the physical server off, enable the NIC on the VM again, and do further testing. Hope that helps.
it wont connect using root user on rpi4 i enabled root login in ssh config file any ideas why it wont work i tried with certificate key file aswell ???

Very helpful. It's a lot easier to understand when you see it being done rather than just reading about it. Thank you

can you explain a bit more about the VM infrastructure server details? is this something we have to set up and or buy?
