i loled @ 6:30 when you mention the CNR could drop 1 launcher for a damage bonus. the funny thing is it used to be that way. it only fit 7 with a ROF bonus.
I'm not a fan of RoF bonuses (unless paired with a damage bonus, like tempest/hurricane etc). The RNI has good volley amount due to the 8 launchers, even without any damage bonuses. A 7 launcher+RoF bonus would technically be a downgrade to what i'm using now as its lacking in alpha/volley. 7 launcher+Damage bonus would retain the alpha it has now while providing more flexibility for utility high/fitting choices.
You mentioned something about Golems being capital bait. I'm guessing it's because you are stuck on grid in Bastion? Of course the Golem hull is over 1.5 billion ISK and a well fit one is something close to 3 bil so it's a good kill mail. I paid less than 1.2 bil for mine but full mission fit is about 3.2 bil. I've often visualized getting jumped in my Golem during a mission and fit a couple of neuts to help survive such scenarios. My issue with my Golem is that I kill everything so fast and so far away that it takes 3x as long to clean up the mess as it does to make it (salvaging). If I'm in my home system it's faster to dock up and get the Noctis to salvage. My first day in null someone sold me a Raven Navy rapid launch that had around 1200 DPS. I went to help miners with rats and got jumped right away by a roam of about 7. Of course I was too green to know to watch my scan. I was screaming in comms for help and got a battle fit procurer or something that started taking the heat off me. I was hitting my tacklers so hard they all jumped out ending the battle but with the loss of the Barge. Yep, that was my first day, heck, first HOUR in null after running mission for years in high security space. My hands were shaking and my face was red with embarrassment over my ineptitude. It was great! Anyway, If I played more to have the ISK support I would consider solo Golem roams.
Marauders, and in this case, Golems are capital magnets. The Golem is a competent torpedo ship, but in most cases you bring one out to PvP and someone is going to drop a dread or carrier(s) on you. Then you're just an expensive lossmail. I've flown Golems before, literally 2j into nullsec, someone dropped a dread on me, but they weren't fit properly so i was able to get away. I don't intend to fly Marauders again until either they get cheaper, or i fit them specifically to counter capitals with gang support.
The problem with marauders is that the bastion module completly stops your acceleration. at this point even a capital gunned dread can match your speed and apply its 10.00,0 dps to you, which will probably kill you in 2 shots and a very small amount of seconds ^^
@@DevineAbyss knowing when to bastion and when not to bastion is fine. Marauders can still be effective without touching bastion. The issue is, spending 1.5-1.9b just for the hull is a lot of isk for something that, outside of bastion, isnt much better than most offering from pirate or navy battleships. But also, yes, anytime you use a marauder, capital pilots all over start frothing and undock their caps prepping to cyno on you.

I tried to do a (albeit, very minor) summarized explanation in the text of "Good torpedo battleships", which just had the Golem as "capital magnet", which is the main reason why i don't fly them or recommend them (unless you're rich or part of a group that has a lot of capitals and don't have to worry about it).
way more damage over cruise missiles when brawling. Cruise missiles don't have the dps/alpha to break certain active tank fits. Most cruise missile battleships are around 800 dps with fury and ~650dps with navy missiles. Torpedo fits range anywhere from 880-1000dps with faction and 1100-1200 with rage.
MJD is a prop. You don't need to chase when you know how to lure/bait. There are ways to making people land on top of you, or just finding gangs and letting their tackle ram you, kill tackle, MJD out. Chasing people around in a plated MWD battleship doesn't work very well, unless you find the player who isn't paying attention and watching netflix. Anyone who has their overview up and is looking at distance can just kite you anyway, so for strictly brawling setups, i've found the MJD a much better alternative than using a MWD since it allows you to escape from kiters.
Then i leave and reset position. At 30-50km, the only thing could point me is a lach/arazu/prot/keres, none of which can prevent MJD, so i'm in no danger. Then i can reset position if i choose or find another fight.
Stitch K but u cant put ur own point on target and u dont have that much damage to oneshot things. So u lose ur targets on that and u make more opportunities for ur enemy to kill u. Just want to catch ur way to pvp stuff, to understand it. Because all the time i thought that bs without normal prop is garbage, want to see all of ur position about ur choice.
With skirmishing/brawling, your goal is not to kill everything (though it does happen sometimes). Your goal is to kill what comes in to scram you and then leave. I cannot kill that long point garmur at 70km, but i can MJD away from it, so its of no concern. What i want to kill is their tackle/scram ships, once they're all dead, i leave through the MJD. That is the most successful way of brawling that i've found. The MJD is the counter to kiters, you use your high dmg/application to kill anything that can prevent an MJD (scrams), then work your way down in whatever else is in scram range. An MWD only battleship is a prime target for kiters, you won't be able to catch them either (or escape in some cases). If they're within 25km and you have heavy neuts, you could neut them off, but some battleships don't have neuts, or they'll still be stuck against bonused long point ships. Also against carriers, Sirens only point, they don't scram, so the MJD is more valuable to escape those than a MWD
Yep, Voc/Baali came through a system i was in (after i ECM drone'd their lach and escaped) and offered to 1v1 me without gang interfering. He showed me his fit, and he knew mine already from KB. I was 85% sure he would win, but figured why not, could be a fun fight. So we warped to sun and 1v1'd. He won (obviously), but i did deplete both his XLASB's and got him into structure. Thanks for reminding me, i need to dig up that video. I can put it in a future video.

Ever since the MJD it gave battleships more survivability in sub cap engagements nobody wants to hero tackle the application fit torp boats
