I have a really similar thing going on with callouses and dead skin build up- mostly due to gait, and genetics. But I’ve lately been doing something I call “foot facial” lol. I do this daily: wet gentle pumice stone, glycolic acid from the ordinary, moisturizer and then cicaplast balm. This has done wonders in keeping the build up low! It even works at keeping my cuticle over growth down due to the glycolic acid.
Same. this is my dry pedicure since i didnt have a foot spa, but generally soak in epsom salt and file afterwards before doing an oil “bath”
due to gait, i have to stay schedule but life happens and here i am all over again 😅

If you're a beginner, you might want to be careful with all of the nipping and clipping to avoid accidentally opening wounds on your feet. My rule of them is if I can't scrape it off gently, I'm not removing it. Foot masks or even going to sleep covering your feet with Vaseline and socks might soften some things you don't feel comfy removing yourself.
Speak for yourself i hate going to bed with greasy vaseline and hot socks on my feet i rather use tools thanks

Removing dead skin and using a 180 grit file to even out my toenails then sealing with a glass crystal file is so satisfying. I've incorporated using a loose mascara brush(Sephora 😜) dipped in hot water after soaking my feet to get those nooks and crannies of dead skin under the toenails because those sidewalls be harassing me and my gait gifts me a callous on my left foot only🙄 and its the larger foot of the two😂😂. Nail Aid hardeners and treatments after oiling the tootsies is my jam and it dries quickly and is a great top coat too then some glycolic acid hand cream or emu oil 😊. Your pedi looks pretty and this was relaxing and informative. Thanks A🥰❤️.
FYI: Foot calluses are made worse by going barefoot too much - especially at home or on wood floors - they take the moisture right out of your feet. Don't be too aggressive when using that razor file - our feet/heels have fatty heel pads, if you take too much, overtime you'll permanently wear down that portion of your foot/heel. We need that fatty pad to soften our steps when we walk etc.

9:13 - i have stopped getting calluses because i developed a joy for filing my feet almost everyday at the end of the day. I used to get it normally but i began filing daily last year around April, and around September, i got to a stage where my soles were so smooth that i used to slip my socks even in shoes

My nails have gotten so brittle lately, but thick at the same time so they can break easily. Also all of a sudden I’m getting ingrown on nails, even on the little toesies too. They’re also starting to change shape, like the curvature is starting to flatten out a bit, and I haven’t changed anything. Im in flip flops or flat open shoes most of the time. I live where it’s very humid so maybe that in conjunction with sweat is contributing. I prefer doing my nails at home, I’m not a tech but do have a cosmo license. If you have any tips please let me know! Great educational video as always!
if your feet arent regularly in enclosed shoes but having these changes id definitely recommend mentioning them to your physician.

I am so fed up with nail places in my area.. the last pedicure I had done cost $110 with gel polish and the polish popped clean off from 2 nails by the time I got home.. then I noticed my feet got so dry I felt cringe when putting socks on 🙄 I need to learn the process for myself and skip overpaying for crappy service..

That callous remover should probably be used when your skin is wet. It's so much easier.
it shouldnt. files are appropriate to use on damp skin but be too soft for a blade.

How do you fix the broken toenail 🥲 thats my issue rn, and i prefer to not have to use gels all over my big toe but i need to fix the broken corners :((( such a struggle and now its summer so cant even wait for them to grow out 😭😭
you can use silk wrap w brush on resin. just keep in mind its not as durable as gel or acrylic.
