Keep in mind, Naruto never talked to her about this event after Pain was defeated. This would have been the perfect point in the story for Naruto to acknowledge her feelings and develop his own. Missed opportunity IMO.

People love Hinata because she would risk her life for naruto she always saving him too she was also the one to believe in naruto the most and help naruto stand back up during the war when neji died
I'll never forget how Nana(Hinata) not only mentioned how Naruto inspired Hinata to never give up despite his many mistakes but also how greatly he matured. Nana: That being said, [Naruto] still isn't a prize in the boyfriend material department. Hinata can do better and she probably knows it but Naruto is just there so...XD

However, the war arc is where Kishimoto's wife stepped in and gave him advice about letting the Hinata relationship flourish. Kishi still did a terrible job at it, but that was one of his weaknesses as a writer. Naruto despite this is an incredibly strong story.
Oh boy! This scene! This was when Naruto really began to notice Hinata.
Okay, there was also the Chunin Exam Arc when she fought Neji, but, you get the idea.
He legit should of liked her more...she gave him ointment she was willing to risk her team ever becoming chunnin for him during the written exam by letting him cheat off her and she encouraged him before he fought neji when he was really down on himself....
Hinata looked at this nigh-demi god, who destroyed the entire village, its strongest fighters, and Naruto Uzumaki all one after the other, who's got one of the most dangerous doujutsu in history and then said "I missed the bit where that's my problem."
Massive props to Hinata, balls of absolute steel.
People really saying Kishimoto forgot this interaction between Naruto and Hinata but if one watches The Last: Naruto the Movie it showed why their relationship didn’t go anywhere. Naruto didn’t recognize Hinata’s love for him as a romantic one

He didn't really write the romance in the film ...he made the designs..wrote some of the lure and otsutsuki stuff... he just was asked for some ideas from his own life aka the scarf significance and the name written of the person you would to spend your last day with on a piece of paper...he said he could not write them falling in love cause he saw them as his kids and siblings so it felt awkward
NaruHina wasn’t forced, Naruto isn’t a romance anime. These small moments show how much Naruto cared for Hinata since the beginning and Hinata admired Naruto

Most importantly, she confessed, because she knew she might not have another chance.
That was the moment when Hinata being the best girl became kanon. She loved and accepted him way before he became champion of Konoha.
Hinata should be a part of main cast, not Sakura.

Everyone else: Everybody else had common sense to stay the fk back while Hinata couldn't resist. Besides that was the first time she acted without using her brain. The second time she acted without a brain was when she decided to jump in front of Naruto instead of using a gentle fist art attack.

I don't remember Pain being able to lift somebody up like it's telekinesis
I know many guys love Hinata so much because of this, but to me, the setting and story before this one just made me don't much feeling about this coz Hinata just barely reach the main story from the start til here, that distance make me feel like she might love him so much but she could never reach his heart and mind as she actually knew none of anything is happening.
Instead of, if Kushimoto put Sakura as her role at this timing to come out to try to save Naruto, I would consider it is a much reasonable moment as she did walk through a tough way with Naruto to try to bring Sasuke back, she knows his pain, she experienced the same thing with him.
Don't get me wrong, I like Hinata too, but I just think the love flow of the series turn weird since this happened, as the storyline just tried to tell Sakura and Naruto are getting closer than ever and ever in the first half of Shippduden
This is the kind of moments I want to see in TV shows or movies: moments where a character risks everything. It doesn't matter if it is for love, money, revenge, or power.
