I get you...the three is a shorter pain, that shouldn't be fed...the five more of a nasty thing you need to work on...and the five of cups something your not looking at...cool. I'm a Thoth girl, and I can't help but think the words 3/S = sorrow 5/S = defeat 5/C = disappointment
So I tried out your Highest Intention spread, and the very first card I got for "what serves me" was the 5 of Swords... so you might say that I am one who keeps going after a hard time, I am good at picking myself up, thinking better thoughts and moving on?

How could I read the 5 of swords as an obstacle? Its a love reading. The last cards were sun & 2 of cups. But 5 of swords is an obstacle nowadays... not sure how to do it

I have seen this card quite a few times, and more often than not, It is the idea that the aspect of past relationships, and the Shames and guilt that were acquired in them will inevitably come up to be cleared and cleansed in this particular relationship that you are inquiring about. This is indeed a magnificent opportunity to become, and stay present in your current relationship, but is most certainly an obstacle, because it involves facing past hurts, and that which caused discomfort, shame, and quite possibly guilt and past relationships. Welcome this opportunity to cleanse either yourself, your partner, but hopefully both!
