That is absolutely huge! I like the filling with filament, it's actually a technique that I've used for a while now, both with a 3D pen and by melting filament into cracks with a soldering iron (slightly more tedious for large areas are but fuses better, I use it mostly for small joints and gaps from the initial fusing).
Gonna be really fun to see this get finished!

Have you thought about - or tried - poly cement? It bonds plastics together at the molecular level. I'm not sure if it would work with filament as I've never done any 3D printing.
