@@thomasconan389 Actually Kirk plays that part on one string i think. That makes it incredibly easier. Still requires practice though. The sweep part is the hardest in my opinion.

Grant Jarnagin I think the ending is. I like how this song starts out soft, gradually builds, then becomes heavy, then repeats the intro. The outro is my favorite part of this song.

@@sandenson the part at 4:26 seems a little awkward since he's picking every single note and sliding, rather than the notes being connected in a sweeping arpeggio manner. Nonetheless, its creative and I love people's own spin. I personally have tried using 2 different key played in alternate fashion rather than just the 1 key played four times.

I always do that intro finger style. Just the way I learned it I suppose. I'm also surprised how you alternate pick the sequence Am into those D chords with the chromatic ascent on the 3rd string instead of an arpeggio style picking. Ok, you've probably realised I'm editing this comment as I go along. Anyway, I find it easier to use my pinky in that distortion rhythm with open D with A, A#, B and C on the third string. Only one hand position needed, more efficient imo. You can hold down that C and swivel the hand from it to get ready to get back to the A5. With all that said, I only ever learned the rhythm guitar to it and you still have an excellent overall technique.
