Guys it ain’t tht we aren’t trying to win the SEC is just stacked!!! Easily the best conference in basketball!we ain’t gonna win them all, and it’s on to lose long as your taking something from it! Win or Lose I’m gonnna ride with my team! We are still a great team! And will only get better as the season goes on!
Thank you. These people are the nut side of the fanbase who haven’t said crap on a mark pope post game video all year. Not a single good job, no support for their team, but we lose one and all of a sudden it’s 200 comments with every Ronny, dick, and Jim Bob thinking they know everything. We have a great staff and our program is in great hands. We’ve had some HUGE wins this year but some tough losses as well. It will be ok. Still proud of what this team has accomplished after being cobbled together last minute but they still need to work harder and cut down on the mental mistakes.
I agree. The energy Kerr brought was irreplaceable. Carr obv is very hurt and shouldn't have been playing the past 3 games. Hope he will be ok bc Pope seems to struggling keeping the team working together without them. The moment we became too dependent on offense, esp thru Oweh, our defense started getting even worse.
Fans should start chanting lazycats lazycats lazycats fuck the excuses no excuses they played like they didn't care if they won or loss they deserved to lose in fact they don't deserve to be in the top 15 smh
Personally, I still think this team is exceeding expectations. I think coach Pope is great and this program is headed in a great direction but like all things it’s not gonna be perfect overnight. We as a fanbase are too negative. We haven’t been good in years we need to temper our expectations
I think we're all very frustrated we've had many rough years and it's just so old how we're just not where we need to be at. But we have to take in to account the circumstances when Pope came in he didn't have the luxury like cal did his first year literally brought one of the most best point guards I've ever seen that went number one in the draft with him and cousins. I mean Pope had to rely on just whoever was in the transfer Portal. So I think it's fair he deserves the benefit of the doubt. But year three there needs to be a championship roster.
I don't like watching a team that appears to lacks effort on defense. They allow too much dribble penetration. Why can't we stop the ball? They used to get hyped off defensive stops and now they seem to get cocky when they hit shots. They seem to prefer to try and get a steal or block over stopping the ball first. Am I wrong?
You can’t blame Pope. He coached well. Our players didn’t play well. Not Marks fault that our best players were playing lazy, making passes to guys that weren’t there. The whole damn team acted like they had baby oil in their hands. Couldn’t catch the ball, couldn’t hold on to the ball, slapped it around trying to rebound. And the dribbling!! OMG how many times did our players dribble it off their leg, or feet, our ran faster than they were dribbling? Butler was a no-show for the majority of the game, and that darn Kobe Brea…. I get sick and tired of announcers saying “one of the best shooters in the country.” He’s not been a great shooter in so many games that I can’t remember the last time he made more than 1 or 2 in a single game! What drives me nuts about him is on his off games, he just keeps the mentality of, im just gonna keep shooting anyway, instead of trying to make good plays for his teammates. Then when our entire team, with the exception of 1 guy, stands at the 3 point line watching Garrison try and shoot a 3 that he has ZERO business shooting anyway, there’s nobody under the basket to rebound the missed shot. Except for that 1 guy that was able to jump up and tip the ball but had nobody else in blue there to help(Trent Noah). This loss was not a coaching loss. He was not out coached. The players were out played because of laziness and an inability to hold on to the basketball. Vanderbilt DID NOT look like a better team. We just looked that bad with all the ridiculous turnovers. The only player for Ky that played with any heart was Trent Noah. Until the second half when Oweh started playing like it mattered. But he couldn’t handle the ball worth a crap today. My biggest concern/question is, WTH has happened with Lamont Butler? Aside from a few plays, we were playing better with him on the bench! That’s very unusual for him. And fouls shots….in a game where refs were letting almost every foul slide, you CAN NOT afford to miss foul shots. Williams needs to spend a couple hours every day in practice shooting nothing but foul shot’s. His one handed shot reminds me of the way Shaq used to shoot and miss free throws. 9 times out of ten, if any of them make the first shot, they miss the second, or they miss both of them. I still love this team, a lot, but they sure disappoint and piss me off when they don’t play together, and can’t hold on to the basketball. They had their chance to win but they got ahead and started making ignorant moves and non necessary shot choices. Really, once again, it all comes back to horrible ball handling, terrible passing, and a piss poor job at offensive/defensive rebounding. I know their 3 point defense was bad too, but that’s not what lost them the game. Vandy scoring on our countless turnovers lost us the game!
I was hard on Butler after the game too, but he is playing hurt and we cannot lose him right now we just can’t. Brea was a no show again and where was Robinson in the second half?
@@chrisharris0130 I for once want to see Robinson or brea dive on the ground for the ball I can’t stand the bend at the waste to pick it up when our opponents are diving for it and getting it. You don’t have to be the strongest but get in the ground and be aggressive
@@micahrandolph4397 I want to see a lot more of our Kentucky boys, especially instead of Brea and Lamont. Carr was a liability in a lot of ways. I say play the Kentucky boys who can shoot and will give you all they've got. Most of our transfers really don't care about the team, anyway.
@ Well brea and Perry were both isolated and torched on defense so I don’t think either can be out there. Noah was grabbing rebounds and at least holding his own. I wouldnt mind seeing him play more. Butler injured still helps us it’s just hard seeing him not at full capacity. Also when butler drives into the lane and the other guys don’t cut then it makes him look like he is driving without purpose. Pope said it’s not one on one it looks that way when guys don’t work for their shot. The nice thing about pope never bashing his players also hurts us because people that are letting us down dont get the ugly truth. I appreciate what he does for us and am still excited to watch more
"Heavy on our heels" was a great quote by coach Pope. This is the type of game they would have dominated a few weeks ago it seems, but everything felt a step-behind. However, Noah getting some minutes today really showed his hustle, he was the most committed of BOTH teams on the floor for a couple of minutes so was glad to see him get some time on the court. I'm not sure how to look at the Tennessee game coming up, both teams have their flaws and strengths so hopefully that game shows what both are capable of. Obviously it's for nothing but bragging-rights, but when Arkansas comes into Kentucky, THAT will be the game we've all been looking forward to.
Pope is guilty of over coaching this team. Play your best players longer. Our starters only played 14 minutes together but were +8 with all 5 guys in the court. We had at least one or more subs in the game for 26 minutes but we were -13. Anytime Perry, Brea, Chandler and Noah were in; Vandy would get the switch and run ISO at them. As bad as Butler was, teams aren’t going to run stuff at him because they have to honor his usual game. You don’t need to go down every game in the first half to collect all these “data points” The analytical solution for this team actually is pretty simple: Play your best guys together and longer stretches.
Noah rebounded, fought, and showed more "EFFORT" than the rest of the (WHOLE DAMN TEAM) from what i saw!! Don't know what game you was watching? But i know what i saw!!! Chandler?? i have lost (ALL THOUGHT) or "HOPE" i had for him.. Guy is playing worse than a High Schooler does... Sorry, (TRUTH)! I don't think it would hurt to let him go after this season.. Sure don't... Maybe i am wrong? Who knows? Got to do better!!
In the second half, he did sub as much because he clearly saw what we saw. I just hate Amari williams so much. He's so terrible on defense and rebounding. It makes no sense that Oweh can have SEVEN MORE REBOUNDS than him.
@@ICONBADGTA @ I’m not saying don’t sub or even play Noah. But our starters only played 14 minutes together. And they were +8. That’s a rotation issue and it’s not just this game.
Love this team, love this coach. Great things are building for us. But Man!, when a rebound should be ours and a couple cats just looking at it or when we just still don't block out like we should...defense, defense, defense!!! Too much dribble through driving me nuts!!!!ugh! I saw 3 rebounds that easily 2 hands could get the ball, but it got knocked out with one hand straight to them...ugh! But seriously, I do love and support our team and coach! And add to it all that the SEC is just a wicked power conference this year! What was it I heard the other day?, calling it the NBA of the South!
Look people coaches still trying to figure it out grow the h!!! Up support the BLUE and let things roll if you 7:34 knew what your talking about in this league you would be coaching! Not taking up for the 1st year coach but hes doing better than previous Hope For POPE!
Cals first years at Kentucky Elite 8 Final four Title Nit Final four Final four. Remember Billy g lasted 2 seasons. This don’t get fixed by next year, pope will be unemployed.
“Everyone is good defensively.” Except us. We took the lead in the second half. Contenders dig in and get those stops to get a win. This team has re-ignited my passion for Kentucky basketball, but they are so frustrating to watch at times. Veteran guys couldn’t take care of the ball If Tennessee loses to Auburn, they’ll look to eat us alive on Tuesday. Don’t have a great feeling about that one.
We be ok guys 😊 we get them back when they come to big blue 😊. BBN ..love this team they will fight more now watch and see 😊 lose two in a roll sucks but they will fight playong tenn ! Might win or lose its ok i believe in pope and this team. Hope in pope 💙🤍💪😺🏀🔥🔥🔥
Is it just me or do we look like a really solid mid-major team? I know it’s 1 game, but cmon, this is Kentucky.! You gotta fight every single possession! These other teams wanna take your heart and soul! And your job wearing the Kentucky jersey is to not allow that to happen.!
Some of you make me sick. This team has done some amazing things this season and you all are so quick to forget. Loss sucks, but we have to take them and move on. We win our next 3 and lose 3 more. Don’t give up on this team
A bad game…. We stink on the road … but also … this team has over performed. The SEC is ridiculous.. idk what more our fans want from us… nobody expected us to even be here. Pope is positive. That’s what it’s gonna take in the NIL era …. Down 14 at half, went up 7… love that fight & Trent Noah went and made a case for him to get some mins!! … let’s get behind our team more instead of criticizing!!
This sucks and so far I’m not seeing us get any better!! As bad as I hate to say it I think they peaked way too early in the season! #wheresthezeal #UKBasketball
I’d rather have Pope than the dork UL hired. The delusion is you bird brains thinking you have a good team and coach, when you all haven’t played or beaten anyone.
lol DELUSIONAL and yet he still very well could be in the running. no one (im sure you as well) didnt think UK would be here right now. calm down and zip it
@@Polygraph_testcalling Pat Kelsey a dork huh? He has ENERGY AND PASSION. We’ve beaten West Virginia, Clemson, SMU, etc. IDC if we play in a weak conference or if the ACC isn’t as good as the others, Kenny Payne would had this team in the BOTTOM of the league. The ACC still was bad when Louisville was down the last few years. I DON’T want to hear it. Pat Kelsey took over a TOUGHER situation than Pope
@richardkinzer7104 he is 7'2. He will get rebounds. He has turnovers at inopportune times and makes bad decisions that hurts our teams. Guy has hands like bricks. Most frustrating player of all time. He simply ain't cutting it. Unfortunately we don't have anyone else BG needs to be playing bulk of the minutes and Williams like 10-15/game.
If the players on this team are more concerned about shooting 3’s instead of rebounding and playing defense, then do us a solid and go to the NBA. You’ll fit in just fine there.
Our guys werent playing with heart today it just didnt seem like they cared or wanted to win badly enough besides Trent Noah and Otega Oweh...we should NOT be getting outhustled by Vanderbilt. Kentucky NEEDS to be better than this! Next game vs Tenn is a must win.
Facts. Never happy … think they know ball… like really most uk fans think they are coaches or something…. Idk if they are really even fans or if they are just critics at this point
@ exactly man. Uk will never be win titles like UConn has over past 20 years because the fans turn on the players and coaches when the team has a bad stretch . The players see the shit . The coaches see it, fans are supposed to have faith and support the team… not bitch an moan and act like the gd athletic director
Been watching basketball/sports for 40+ years, there's no difference in us giving our opinions or critiques than a Steven A Smith, he's a journalist so what's the difference. Most of what I've read on here is true in the comments but not the negative ones, the uplifting or what we could've done better comments, bcuz we're passionate fans and we love our team. Oh by the way, every fan base in sports are critics to their favorite teams, at least we show class, example, we're not fans who degrade people who debate us or our team if it's in good taste. There are a lot of us that enjoy the game and love our team but also know it's a game, and some of us are mature adults. ✌️💙
Welcome back to the Dribble Stand Offense people!!. It must be a special class taught at the University of Kentucky. Now that coach Popes system of rotation and getting open is out of the way, I'm sure the Dribble Stand Offense will thrive. Just like Calipari has..
With Trent Noah on the floor, Kentucky played there best in 1st half, he goes to bench, with 5 minutes left, vandy goes on big run. He comes in 2 half Kentucky get 7-8 points lead, pope takes him out vandy goes on a run, gets back in the game., then wins in last 3 minutes.
Should’ve learned that lesson last game these veterans college students are freaking playing like they never have been on the road. It’s actually insane
I don’t like running the offense up high with the bigs. Need to be down low for a high percentage shot and rebounds. Other than that I think this team will be fine.
We have 2 important guys out and Butler is hurt. What do you want? What lineup do you think will work? The one where we have several returning guys on the court at the same time? The lineup with the freshmen that have had years to develop? Oh you mean the guys from mid majors we had to fight over with the rest of the country just to get that in a couple weeks time. Yeah the guys that aren’t really that talented but have still beat a bunch of good teams. That lineup.
@Pope put this team together in four weeks and he did the best he could and Brea looks like he’s running in quicksand he is so slow coming off screens and injuries are catching up to us. You are spot on just thought I would add to it a bit. Does Amari Williams or Brandon Garrison ever make a shot in the paint besides a dunk?
@ hey how’s it going mashman I think I responded to you on another video the other day. Yeah they are banged up for sure and it’s still incredible what they have done even if they have taken some on the chin. I really think things changed when kerr went down though. You’re not just missing him on the court you’re missing him in practice too... and now Carr (huge loss) and everyone else…Our depth that we could overwhelm people with is getting thin, and vandy is a deep team too. Now I’ve seen Garrison and Williams make them around the rim but I would still love to see sone more dunks from them. Amari should have threw that one down when he drove past the guy but waited to get him in the air to get fouled, he had him beat. I don’t know what people expect though, this is basically just an older one and done team. Heck you only have to look one state over to see where we could have been this year.
@@jt1765 Totally agree on Amari he had a dunk. I did hear a guy mention on a podcast that Krissa is looking into a red shirt, but the objective now is to try and see if he can play by mid February. The Carr loss is tough, but I was at the Alabama game the other day and watching him try and guard Nelson I felt bad for him because he was doing his best and he just couldn’t move. ✌️
@ yeah it was rough watching him out there against bama. I feel real bad for this team and staff, they were rolling and seemed they really had something to prove and people were buying in before the injuries started piling up and SEC started, which is absolutely brutal. Just no ability to put things in perspective it seems. But that’s the world we live in I guess. Arkansas 1-5! Missouri didn’t even get a conference win last year I don’t think and look at them now! It’s rough.
Don't get it twisted, Pope IS the man for the job. * he's just too kind. Has to find some aggression and fire. THIS IS KENTUCKY THE WINNINGNEST COLLEGE BASKETBALL SCHOOL IN HISTORY.... FREAKIN PLAY LIKE IT!! He has to keep informing his players of that...
How do you know what he's saying in practices and huddles??? He's kind and humble in press conferences because BBN is the WORST, most ENTITLED fanbase on the planet. And 99 percent of you couldn't make a layup if your life depended on it. Love OUR coach, love OUR team...can't stand the fanbase smh
Too many turnovers was the difference..When Lamont Butler does not play well then Kentucky usually loses. and Lamont Butler was not good with 6 turnovers and did not slow the quicker Vandy guards and should have sat the bench for most of the second half. Sure Oweh scored some good buckets but he is not going to pass the ball when he drops his shoulder and starts to drive. Oweh 4 turnovers and had a dropped dunk. Garrison tries to make dime passes and fails with 4 turnovers, and Butler 6 turnovers. with a total of 14 turnovers committed by those three players
And the second half Coach's "adjustments" were great and we can thank good hustle, fundamental play and ball control to Trent and Travis, they were a part of that huge comeback and lead bcuz right then we had them, I'd been fine with leaving them in. Butler needs to get healthy and Jaxson needs to come off the bench, he's not nor has he all season bcuz it consistency and he's not been that all season. Duke game, he scored 2 pts I believe, played entire game so we beat them basically with 4 guys, and Jaxson taking that shot when we still had the opportunity on top of Butler losing the ball, that right there canned it, didn't cost us bcuz we should've never looked back once we took the lead, but it's time to make Jaxson re-earn his spot. We need Carr so that hurt us, he's better at the 5 than Williams, lastly we need Kerr back as well, he's a huge mental player and good defender as well as shooter. Any dispute?
Kentucky’s poor defense again. Kentucky loses games that they were supposed to win and play big in games they should lose. Jaxson plays poor defense. Amari plays like he’s 6’ tall
These guys played out of sync and just got outplayed , PERIOD ........ They're not hungry enough to get the W's . Otega is the only one who puts it all out every game .
Too much dribbling , Cal same issue. Get blown up at top of the key, throws timing of offense off. Left scrambling late in shot clock. Not enough inside out passing to a team full of shooters. Certainly not physical enough.
Without Andrew carr they still should have won. Even though they played literally 25 percent of the game with any effort. Lamont Butler has been bad lately, Brandon Garrison is a liability on defense, they just have been sooo bad taking care of the ball lately when they have been tremendous for the majority of the season..idk, but this could spiral out of control if they don't win the next two. Can't have a team like Vanderbilt go on a 20-4 run because you can't take care of the ball. And the majority were unforced turnovers. Smh. Unacceptable
@adamperry7848 they actually are a good team, but Alot of the turnovers were "unforced". Yeah Vanderbilt did cause some, but there were multiple times they just turned it over themselves, especially late when they had an opportunity to close the game Lamont and Otegah both with bonehead mistakes. This team has shown how good they can be, but seems to me their not playing with the same energy and urgency to win in these games vs unranked opponents. Was a bad loss because of they now have to go into Tennessee with them coming off a loss. Could potentially be another loss and if they lose to Arkansas too. Man that would just kill anything good they have done all season. They have to atleast beat Arkansas, and not let this spiral out of control
When our guys shoot threes there is almost always someone in their face, unfortunately when our opponents shoot threes they’re left completely open, our defenders just stand back and watch them launch the shot and so many of them go in, why not at least run at the guy and try to disturb his shot? I don’t get why our guys allow so many uncontested three point attempts.?
I’d for once like to see Williams have his hands up and make someone shoot over him for a layup and butler loses the ball and he catches up and strips the ball from the guy. Later Robinson gets the same thing done to him and he lets the guy shoot a wide open layup. The difference in caring is right there. I’m glad we are progressing in a lot of areas but we can’t only give it all to the teams that are ranked high then sleep on the lesser teams.
this should have never happen A disgrace to Kentucky basketball I get mybe 2 of our losses but this is embarrassing We are UK and there is NO excuses coach
Is Pope losing control over this team? Why is it Oweh lately is taking full control over games despite it appears it effects the teams moral and engagement. Was Kerr the glue for this team? I miss that guy.
Brea and Jackson cannot create their own shots. They need screens not the kind that Williams sets. Without good screens Steve Alford would not not have been the scorer he was for Knight at I U. This team is soft
I think the SEC is really good this year the best year we’ve ever seen…? Vandy beat Kentucky this week Tennessee last week I’d say they’ll pick someone else off too there’s only a few teams from the SEC not going to the dance
I thought the defense was better and the switching up was better Williams need to switch up more and get up on the man when defenseing. Stop all of the turn overs that is what killing the team.
If Kerr gets healthy he needs to play this year, Butler trying to play the whole game isn't working. Besides, I'd rather have a scoring guard than an energy guy next season
I dont understand the goal of Amari's role? Is he not doing what the coaches are teaching or is he doing what they are expecting? I can't really tell tbh.
Pope is just to nice. I love him, but his team just doesn't play with the heart that he played with. Some of these guys act like they just don't care. I'm not sure he can bring toughness out of the team without getting in their ass's when needed.
I see one guy who doesn't care, Jaxson, something has been up with him for awhile, he's supposed to be out number 1 guy, and I understand Coach's loyalty but it's time for him to be a 6 man for a few games and see how hungry he really is
Let Travis aka "Mr Basketball" run the point and let Butler get whatever is wrong with him better, i still would keep Travis in more, he's a fantastic ball control/fundamental ball player oh and he can shoot, but Reed Shepherd was coming off the bench and we see what happened there. No Calism's Coach Pope, we've been there but Travis has to play in order to be better, hes not a come off the bench shoot a couple 3's then sit, needs more minutes, let Butler get healthy. Lamont more of a defender too and he's great but even he's looking very lackadaisical, im sue its whatever is bothering him
Vandy's biggest player is 6'7. Amari Williams is 7'0 tall, 260 lbs., and had only 6pts and 5 rebs. He's cotton candy soft. He has zero desire to dominate a game. He's not the most skilled center but has enough talent to be a solid center if he just had an ounce of killer instinct in him.
This team is not improving no hustle not fight get bullied every game for the last ten yrs I’ve watched this thought it would be different. You can’t beat good teams then next games suck. It’s shows why none of these seniors did go pro they will never get drafted.
I like your Magloire example. He was a solid center and alot of it was due to his tough mentality and competitive spirit. Amari Williams knows nothing about that.
We need some nasty guys who will play defense and with effort. This program hasn’t had a team in the top 10 or 20 in defense since 2018. That is exactly why they have either not made the tournament or lose early. You win with defense. I don’t want to hear about fatigue you played for a coach who wouldn’t except that as an excuse and you shouldn’t either. I’m tired of getting these players who just don’t seem to play with effort or do the little things to win games. These guys are getting paid now we shouldn’t have to beg them to play with some heart.
Mark is a great coach but he really needs to see what the issues are by the tape. All the fans can see the issues so he should too. 1. No fundamentals on defense. No hands up or body’s on 3pt line. Not stopping the lanes or cutting in front of driver. Amari is 7ft tall and should be man handling guys but his decision making on the defense of end is not good. Watched him let a guy go to the basket and never put his hands up or tried to block the shot and the guy put layup right in front of him. Then Noah let a driver get the basket and Amari then decided to try and block and let his man get the rebound and put right in basketball. Makes no sense 2. Bad decision making leading to turnovers. 3. Lack of defensive effort and toughness on glass and defense. Saw last game brea try to grab a ball on the ground with him still standing while Alabama player dove and got the ball. That’s effort and energy. And Amari has got to stop showing negative body language. 4. If we aren’t going to guard in half court defense then we need to put in a nasty full court press. Im we are going to lose anyways on the D then at least make them work for it the full court.
Ah, ummm, ah, we were aaah, fatigued, ah, you know we did ah, some ummmm , really positive things, ah. You had 17 turnover and shot 60% from the line! Ummm.
Some of these comments are ludicrous and expected. We were without Carr snd still without Kriisa. I've even seen some fools say they don't think we'll beat Arkansas at Rupp?!? 😂
really? all of our players/recruits went with Cal or Arizona State, Ohio state, or elsewhere. One player stayed. This "honeymoon" is better than what arkansas has so far and better than what we had with Cal for the last 5 years.
Garrison shouldnt even enter the game. Just go small. Might as well if we are gonna shoot 30 3's a game. I do not like that strategy. Live by the 3, die by the 3 and how many teams have we seen fall in the big dance with that same style. So many vandy 3s that guys just watched them shoot instead of running to get a hand up. Laziness. Its like some of the guys have no what to do on pick n roll or pick n pop situations. IDK. Still bleed blue 💙💙💙 but man it gets old watching 3s go up shot after shot when we could be building a lead with good team play and passing for layups and short jumpers
We hit that run and got the lead and sucked the life outta that gym, and then Butler came back in and Travis n Trent were a part of that so I didn't like that, we need Kerr and Carr but my main problem is Jaxson. I love the loyalty and all but he's not helping us despite the couple 3's, it's been happening far too long he needs to get hungry again so he needs to come off the bench. Yes we are still great and Vandy ain't no slouch, just beat Tennessee but we can't lose these games. One more thing, our hot hand all night in that last minute n change where we were still in it, Butler lost the ball and Oweh should've taken that shot but all in all we'll take our loss but we should've won that game, Go Big Blue, SEC is tough man and that's not an excuse I'm saying that to say every game outside of Arkansas is going be a tough game, lastly let's not rest on our laurels about beating Duke and Gonzaga but we did when we were healthy so coach will get us right, Mark is not Cal, he's a lot better Coach #BBN ✌️💙
This Kentucky team HAS NO FIRE... NONE! ...THE DEFENSE IS HORRIBLE!! Coach Pope has to lose the nice guy image. It's NOT working at all. Poor defense, give up the three ball too easily, poor rebounding, can't free up shooters, and the bigs are awkward and clumsy, they lack true 5 position skills. They get pushed around too easily. They simply look lost and out of position on both sides of the ball. Coach Pope and staff has work to do. * THIS ISN'T A VERY GOOD WILDCAT TEAM RIGHT NOW! At least Cal usually beat Vandy and at times he killed Alabama...NOT GOOD!

I mean Pope had to rely on just whoever was in the transfer Portal. So I think it's fair he deserves the benefit of the doubt. But year three there needs to be a championship roster.
Agreed. It could've been so much worse, and it has the potential to be so much better going forward.
We’re getting fatigued 10 minutes into a game? That ain’t good.
I appreciate what he does for us and am still excited to watch more
@@TheLevisaLazerNewsI believe you’re comment is very honest and I agree with the majority of it👍
"Heavy on our heels" was a great quote by coach Pope.
🏀💙🏀 love Coach P We will get There don't lose Faith in This Coach and his Team Go big blue 💙
You don’t need to go down every game in the first half to collect all these “data points” The analytical solution for this team actually is pretty simple:
Play your best guys together and longer stretches.
Thank you. He outcoached the crap out of himself today
Dude they are tired. They would get their ass locked REALLY BAD with some dog tired starters.
No effort at all!

If Williams, Almonor, and BG had half the grit as OO or Carr, this team could really do something. OO almost out rebounded the 3 of them put together.
“Everyone is good defensively.” Except us.
We took the lead in the second half. Contenders dig in and get those stops to get a win. This team has re-ignited my passion for Kentucky basketball, but they are so frustrating to watch at times. Veteran guys couldn’t take care of the ball

The Georgia game in this game probably cost Pope Coach of the year.
Better get used to these losing post game comments . Especially if Butler keeps playing by himself. Too much dribbling and trying to go it alone .
Is it just me or do we look like a really solid mid-major team? I know it’s 1 game, but cmon, this is Kentucky.! You gotta fight every single possession! These other teams wanna take your heart and soul! And your job wearing the Kentucky jersey is to not allow that to happen.!
Every time we lose , the other team definitely plays harder and looks like they just want it more .
Because it's a team of mid major guys. We don't have that star to take over when it's needed.
Umm…have you seen our roster???
5 year players getting paid big bucks. No EXCUSES
Yet, you DELUSIONAL Kentucky fans said that Mark Pope should win national coach of the year

last few games he was a beast on rebounds. def not today
Trent Noah deserves to get more minutes, and be in rotation when carr gets back.
Dammn..and still have Auburn and Alabama to play..i guess 8 or 10 loses this year.
Hell I'm worried about Arkansas in a week and go to Tennessee come Tuesday...
We still have to play ole miss, Missouri, Alabama, and Tennessee on the road

Why would you even speak that evil into existence? What is wrong with you?
Our guys werent playing with heart today it just didnt seem like they cared or wanted to win badly enough besides Trent Noah and Otega Oweh...we should NOT be getting outhustled by Vanderbilt. Kentucky NEEDS to be better than this! Next game vs Tenn is a must win.
Need to play Perry more since Lamont is so banged up. Give him a chance to shine and he, like Trent Noah, will shine. They are winners from Kentucky.

Way too much dribbling especially by Butler.
Williams get your hands up on defense
It makes me so mad honestly
Embrace the physicality, create the contact. Quit dribbling so gd much. Pass the ball like first 5 games.
Should’ve learned that lesson last game these veterans college students are freaking playing like they never have been on the road. It’s actually insane
I don’t think will ever have a defensive team just offense.
I don’t like running the offense up high with the bigs. Need to be down low for a high percentage shot and rebounds. Other than that I think this team will be fine.
Yall are some dramatic bored people
Tell ‘em alapaha
Why are we getting “fatigued” 10 mins into the game? Other teams aren’t. Also, I didn’t see fatigue, I saw pitiful lineups by Pope.
Garrison tries to make dime passes and fails with 4 turnovers, and Butler 6 turnovers. with a total of 14 turnovers committed by those three players
yep turnovers. and they werent even really pressured, just horrible decisions. i agree
Amari plays like he’s 6’ tall
they scored 74. UK is averaging 85+. turnovers was the issue today.
These guys played out of sync and just got outplayed , PERIOD ........ They're not hungry enough to get the W's . Otega is the only one who puts it all out every game .
Tea and crumpets Amari is too soft, polite, and has no fight.
A team like “Vanderbilt “ that’s a good basketball team
THE JECKYL AND HYDE CATS SMH
Our bigs dribble way to much .and when inside three ft slam it .get mean and nasty .
They’re missing a couple of key players who played a lot of minutes. They will need to adjust, but I think I do see progress
What has happened to our crisp passing around the horn to the open shot?
I’d for once like to see Williams have his hands up and make someone shoot over him for a layup and butler loses the ball and he catches up and strips the ball from the guy. Later Robinson gets the same thing done to him and he lets the guy shoot a wide open layup. The difference in caring is right there. I’m glad we are progressing in a lot of areas but we can’t only give it all to the teams that are ranked high then sleep on the lesser teams.
Butler and Garrison were just awful. TEN TO's between them, little offense
And 4 turnovers by Oweh..
@@nomopayn And those were awful, but at least he scored and rebounded

Was Kerr the glue for this team? I miss that guy.
Were getting worse as the season goes on...not better

D up please Go Big Blue
If Kerr gets healthy he needs to play this year, Butler trying to play the whole game isn't working. Besides, I'd rather have a scoring guard than an energy guy next season
Wait till you see Jasper Johnson next year!

Lamont more of a defender too and he's great but even he's looking very lackadaisical, im sue its whatever is bothering him
Fatigue?? My god, you haven't played in a week. If that's the case, if the Cat's had player earlier in the week, Vandy would beat us by twenty.
Amari ain’t it and the faster you see that the better we will get

I like your Magloire example. He was a solid center and alot of it was due to his tough mentality and competitive spirit. Amari Williams knows nothing about that.
Weak physically,UNPREPARED Same Ole Chit show.. it's Beautiful !! Right pope
Makes no sense

Some of these comments are ludicrous and expected. We were without Carr snd still without Kriisa. I've even seen some fools say they don't think we'll beat Arkansas at Rupp?!? 😂
Perry and Noah look lost out there. They should be told to never shoot the ball. Terrible. Terrible.
How should they look when they never get to play?
Well how else are they going to get better. There learning.
Shocker, freshmen aren’t that great at SEC road games. Terrible comment. Terrible.
This won't be acceptable for much longer. Is the honeymoon over?
really? all of our players/recruits went with Cal or Arizona State, Ohio state, or elsewhere. One player stayed. This "honeymoon" is better than what arkansas has so far and better than what we had with Cal for the last 5 years.
@@richardkinzer7104few people have perspective these days. It’s difficult to read comments when things aren’t going 100 percent how they would like
I’m a Ky fan but I see 7 to 8 losses
In the conference yes
Try 11-12
10+
Defend so bad. Turnovers a lot , out coached.
Same excuses. The way they play.
Maybe we win one more game in sec conference.
Williams needs benched
and put bg who cant play d, yeah cuz thats what we need
and play who? last 3-4 games he has been a beast. def a horrible game
@ he cant play d
We won't win one game in the SEC Tournament and or the NCAA Tournament.
@@JJGhostHunters what’s new 🙄
They can't play defense
