    This system works no doubt - we manufacture high end products here in the UK and the P-10 and P-14 system is superb for 0 screws - nails or clamex so no stickers needed to hide the odd hole - soon we will be purchasing a vertical CNC machine and it must be compatible with the P system - not all CNC machines are compatible - wonderful Lamello system the best out there at the moment.

    Great video - just purchased the zeta system and looking forward to my first project! Two quick questions...
    1. What spacing do you recommend for the p-10 and p-14 respectively?
    2. Is there a thickness guide regarding when to use a p-10 vs p-14? For example, how does one know which spacer to use in which application? (e.g. you using the 4mm spacer in this video)
    Thanks in advance for your help!

      Thanks for being a new Lamello customer!
      1. Recommended spacing for all P-System connectors is 12” o.c., and once you go beyond 15” in total width of the workpiece you need to use a 3rd connector.
      2. Have a look at the fancy reference wheel that lives in the insert on the inside lid of your Zeta case. That explains it all. You may also find this online configurator helpful: www.lamello.com/p-system-configurator/

    I understand that the preload clip helps put the joint together easier but does it help with aliment?
    Also does the one blade work for all connectors or do you need a narrower one for thinner connectors?
    Thanks

      Yes, the pre-load opens up a lot of lateral alignment adjustability. This definitely helps in applications like beveled assemblies or those where there are many connectors to be engaged at once. Same P-System cutter for all of the P-System connectors.

    On one of your videos demonstrating the Zeta P2 you showed two drilling jigs for it. I was able to purchase the small drilling jig , but was unable to purchase the larger one, where can buy it. Thanks

      Hi Dwight - My apologies for the late reply here! Sure, you must be referring to long drill jig (item 125345) that I was using in the waterfall edge video? We sell those here at Colonial Saw, but we typically only bring them in via special order (1-2 weeks), since it's not a fast-mover for us. You'd need to give us a call here at the office and we'll help get you set up: 781.585.4364 The 125344 drill jig comes with every Zeta P2 machine by the way. Chris H.

    Hi there. What is the thinnest material that the p10’s will join? I have some work to do with 11/12 mm 1/2” board. Best Paul.

    • @ColonialSaw
      @ColonialSaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately, 9/16" is about the min you can easily work with. 1/2" is possible, but you have to be very careful and if its a "nominal" 1/2" as you suggest it will be too thin.

    Why exactly are they more expensive than the 14mm clips?

    How do you separate them? I put one together to see how it worked and it's a pain trying to separate it.

    • @ColonialSaw
      @ColonialSaw  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Tenso connectors are deceptively strong and are very difficult to separate manually when not installed in a workpiece where you can use leverage to separate them. I’d probably just toss that one, to be honest. You’d probably have to use pliers to separate them and you may damage it in the process. If you’re concerned about dry-fit prior to final assembly with the clamping P-System connectors, using the Bisco first for that purpose is a good idea.

    Anyone know where I can find the data to import into Mozaik for the fastener parameters for this? The cut depths and what not

      Mozaik is one of our software partners. We would recommend reaching out to them directly to ensure you get the correct guidance.

    i like to know do i need to use clips for my tenso p14 as well cause i dont think i got them in the box of hardware i bought

    • @ColonialSaw
      @ColonialSaw  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the exception of the Tenso P-14 starter set (item 145415-S), the pre-load clips are sold separately from the connectors themselves. You’d want to use the pre-load clips for sure on applications like attaching face frames to cabinets boxes or long bevels, such as on column wraps. You could see our Quickbuy page to see how the connectors and clips are sold. The Tenso P-10 connectors are only sold WITH the pre-load clips, because the clips are required for every application due to its design and functionality.

    Why P-10 tenso pre load clips always breaks small plastic legs on P-10 and it wont perform I only see not to use pre load clips at all if you want it to work.

    • @ColonialSaw
      @ColonialSaw  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You shouldn’t be experiencing breakage on the fingers of either the Tenso P-10 or -14, unless perhaps the connectors are not aligned properly and you are trying to force the two halves together? The pre-load clip is optional on the P-14 version of the Tenso but recommended for applications with multiple connections or on beveled work. The pre-load clip should be used in every Tenso P-10 connection, since the “fingers” are much more robust and otherwise difficult to engage without help. This is why the pre-load clips are included in every package of P-10s but are sold separately from the P-14s.
