If the sesamoids are supposed to be part of a tendon for leverage, which tendon in case of the trigonum?
I should qualify that statement. Some sesamoids increase leverage, but the os trigonum is supposed to fuse with the talus in utero, so 90% of people don't have an os trigonum. In short, this bone is a genetic anomaly and has no purpose.
