When in school Suisei would hide in the bathroom stalls, when in Summer she would hide in her own home

"Why didn't you come into school?" asks the principal.
"It's summer break," replies the vtuber.
"That's no excuse," says the principal.
    Japanese school is insane.

"Why is that summer break has the word 'break' in it and yet, we are still called in for clubs?"
Meanwhile, I had summer class back in high school (though I didn't by the time I graduated)

Yeah Asian schools do have this a lot. I used to get called back for club (we called it CCA) during our main break (the month of June, because it was between the two semesters in the year) like twice a week or something, but I wasn't even in there because I wanted to. I was forced to choose a club because you had to (mandatory for all students) so I just asked around for the most slack club so I could find a corner and chill instead.
Different story when I got into high school (we call it junior college) and I got into the judo club. I had a lot of fun in that till a long term injury happened.

Here it is nearly 3 months for summer break + roughly 15 day winter/february break + two rotating holidays which could mean a week break each if aligned with school days and sometimeds a one day holiday in thursday had friday also made free. Also snow holidays for a few days each year if the climate allows for.
We also weren't called in for clubs in summer breaks (If you had a club you choose that each year, tought of course you could continue in one for multiple years).
In elementary and middle school (and to a lesser degree highschool) did have summer projects/homework, but those could be finished in a week or a few days most of the time.

Used to get 3 months in summer due to heat and planting. Now no one farms and we have AC so it's been whittled down to 2 months. They keep talking about going year round with week long breaks. "You still get the same amount of time off" they say. But you can't replace those long vacations. With 2 months you can drive across the country, fly to new places, go out in the wilderness and camp for weeks, spend the whole time at a beach. Those childhood moments can't be replaced. I think those times of family bonding are more important than any 'brain drain' that happens when they go back to school.

Oh wait we can say we feel unwell?
Cause my excuse was I was just working partime selling knicknacks to earn money.
Knicknacks are a simpler version of what I did.
    The teachers understood.
What was your excuse when the teachers asked you this?

    • @Meonium
      @Meonium 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

In here you have to provide absent permit from doctor to school, so school would know you're in serious bad health. So if you're sick but not sick enough to get an absent permit from doctor, school would assume you're still fit to go to school. Well, school would still excuse you from physical activities tho.

@@Meonium I assume that only for long term. Like if you're only sick for a few days your parent calling in be enough. Granted my parent push me to school no matter what too. Few time I had to go to the office to call my parents to go home.
Best part was the lady at the office be like ok you can go now after calling my parents. It's like bitch I feel like I'm dying here not going to fucking walk home, going to wait for my parent to pick me up.
