Rode it for my first time on Saturday night (during Knott's Scary Farm). That initial rise and drop are intense, but once you're on your way, it's just a really nice (and very smooth) coaster! Great ride!

I operated hang time in early February when Great America sent out the local ride operators to Knotts to work and it was the biggest coaster I have operated and I was amazed by how safe and updated the controls are and the restraints and made me feel a lot better with the restraints even though they look small and not as secure as they are
I feel super safe on Hangtime : )
I actually did it and it was pretty smooth, definitely doing it again

I'm not concerned about the wheels, I'm concerned about the restraint. My fear is always flying out of it. I need someone to make me feel better about not flying out. The one thing about this ride that made me not want to go on it again was the feeling of lifting and feeling like I'm going to fly out. I just need some good convincing and assurance.
Tara Steele the only reason you would fall out is if your very overweight and dont fit on the ride. Restraints have never once just let go lol
it does FEEL like you’re going to fall out. it’s the same for me but trust me you won’t. you won’t because if you do the company will get sued and that means less money. so they make it more safe. they test it every single day

Don't let your negative thoughts come to you, think about that you'll make it to the end. I rode HangTime like 2 times. And the truth is, this... is the safest roller coaster in the world. And that's the truth.
This video really helped me get on. I love this ride this was one of the very first roller coasters I have been on since I have always been scared. But it’s really not that bad. When I was going up I will be honest I felt like I was going to fall but I knew I wasn’t. I just kept my eyes closed when we went up. My first ride was in the front and honestly since I’m not a roller coaster person I like it better in the front. You feel so much more safe knowing what is in front of you instead of just wait to feel the drop. If you really want a thrill go in the back. You do go a lot faster it feels like and honestly it’s just pure fun. I went on 9 times in one day and I checked all the rows to see which one was the best. If you don’t like roller coasters, front or second row. If you do and you really want a thrill last or even third

Tbh, I was really nervous when the train started.
The hill up and drop were intense, after that, it was just fun as I discovered "by watching it over and over waiting in line for 2h and 50 minutes" that it only has 2 full inversions. The rest are just like what a surfer does to the waves. It goes up and it turns to the right or left or upward motion. 🙇😏 it's really smooth and my first and only time so far was the night version. The only drawback of this ride is that "like most rides in Knott's are" is short.
Just when I started to scream "Woooho" for the first time in a coster, the ride was over 😥.

I'm not skinny but I felt the same thing -- everyone does have that "I'm about to slip out" when the train is in the lift... that's the hangtime right there, I believe the lift hill is the scariest part of the ride. great ride and super fun nevertheless

Lol I always have this paranoia about inverting rides that use a lap bar. Doesn’t mean I won’t get on; would rather just opt for over the shoulder harnesses lol.

Fun fact: You're more likely to get eaten by a shark while going to the beach than dying on a roller coaster. Additionally, you're more likely to get struck by lightning or hit by a car while walking the street. Surprisingly, even the chances of going into a plane and crashing are higher than the likelihood of dying on a roller coaster. Another interesting fact is that the most dangerous part of going to a theme park is actually driving there.

A roller coaster is probably the safest vehicle a person will ever enter in their entire life. Wayyyyyy safer than the car they got in to drive to the amusement park.

I’m not afraid for the safety reasons. I’m scared because I have motion sickness and I don’t want to blow chunks on people.

I remember riding this ride 2 years ago I think they need to use a pull down shoulder harness in my opinion i felt like i was about to fall out the mf this ride possibly can be a freak accident ready to happen

That's great because I was really loose in Electric Eel last weekend at SeaWorld San Diego I felt like I was falling out never again I was clenching on with my eyes closed

Ok Ik this is late but in hangtime do the workers tell you where to sit or do you decide bcuz I want to go front row.
Batrix phantom They tell where to sit but you could just ask them if you could sit in the front, that’s what I did
they tell you but if u wanna go to front seat ask you’ll just wait a couple minutes more

Um quite safe. In fact, generally all roller coasters here in the United States are confirmed safe to ride, and the chances of getting injured are VERY low, and the chances of dying are even lower.

You don't even need to tell them this, it's just basic statistics. It's like people who are afraid to go in the ocean because of sharks, even though you are probably 1000 times more likely to die driving on your way to the beach.
The first time trying something new can be the most frightening thing in the world. After you try Hangtime once, it is a piece of cake.

Hello Celestia, There are no seatbelts. You have a lap bar that keep you locked in place.

Answer: unless you have a serious medical condition the doesn't allow you to ride roller coasters, then you are 100% safe.
