Beautiful handle. I’d like one with the resin part holding the knot and a silver tip badger knot. I see they’re definitely not cheap, but looking at the craftsmanship that you put in them I’d say they’re worth the investment. Good work buddy
Nice piece! Curious that you used silicone instead epoxy; purposefully gor easier knot replacement? How quickly do knots need replacement (on average, without abuse)? Nice design and beautiful execution. Cheers!
Hi Stephen, im trying to find these ix expandig collets but it seems Beals have stopped trading. its a long shot but do you know where i might get these from?
Do you have a reason for using silicone rather than a 2-part epoxy to attach the knot? I presume silicone likely makes it easy to remove the knot if you wanted to later.
Really enjoy your videos, the color or metallic looking die your are using to produce the Aurora effect is awesome. what is the color or is it a Alumilite resin color.
one problem, it's a mt 1. you have to buy a sleeve for you lathe if it's a mt 2. It will make it go from mt 2 down to mt 1. 10 dollars or so. go to amazon and look for them.
I can't find them now where either. He won't tell us, but Harbor frieght has a 2 1/2 inch chuck . You can open it, expen it and it will fit. Not in the store, only on line. Not the best in the world but works
Not sure how to contact you or if this is the proper way to do this, (new to the internet). How much would an Aurora (just like the one above), cost with a silvertip badger knot?
Why not just pour resin with whichever ornaments you want into a mold? This seems like too much job just for some perfect symmetry? And so much resin wasted, you could at least start from circular mold 😳
This is what is necessary to use the wood and resin together. I'm not dumb - I have been doing this a long time. This is the best and possibly only way at this scale. Look up "wood and resin" on TH-cam and you will see this is how everyone does it.
The best Shave Brush on the market today is my Simpson Trafalgar's T-3 better then boar cheaper in the long run it is 29mm. i mic it' it's like buying a $275 Badger hair brush, no cleaning the brush, no need for a brush stand, fast drying time, well not fall apart like a Badger Hair or boar can, cheap to buy, I have owned it for 5 Years with no hair loss with no problems wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas
Probably the nicest looking brush I've ever seen! It's mesmerising!!

Craftsmanship. Good job man

That is beautiful. Great work buddy.

Nice piece! Curious that you used silicone instead epoxy; purposefully gor easier knot replacement? How quickly do knots need replacement (on average, without abuse)? Nice design and beautiful execution. Cheers!
They don't NEED it, but people like to change them so this prevents damage to the handle.
Finally grabbed hold of one of these used, and it was about time!! Love your work Stephen.
Very pretty
Masterpiece, do you sell your artwork?
Hopefully ill be able to purchase one of these incredible brushes in the future.

Hi Stephen, im trying to find these ix expandig collets but it seems Beals have stopped trading.
its a long shot but do you know where i might get these from?
Also dry you Stabalize the wood before casting? If so any particular product you recommend for stablizing?
gotta say amazing work where do i get one of these
Beautiful, good job. From N.C.
Very nice! How much does a brush like this go for?
$100
Could you comment on the types of wood you normally use and the one used in the video?
Could you do the size and shape of a chubby two and three?
What kind of chuck attachment is that with the 2 jaws that allows you to grip corners of squared blanks?
Where would u recommend purchasing new knots? I have a 60 y/o brush that needs a new one.
Maggard Razors
This is excellent stuff! I subscribe!
Silicone to glue the knot? Interesting. most I've heard before have used epoxy. What advantage does the silicone give you?
It's temporary (with some effort) so it allows changing the knot without destroying the existing knot or handle
Great video, thanks for making it! Where did you get your expanding collet chuck? I haven't been able to find anything that looks/works quite like it.
Beall Tool company
Wow, I want a brush just like this one in the Video, Where Can I get it and what would it cost me?
What cameras did you use for this?
Did you every post a video of how you make your blanks?
Were did u get the bristle cap from
hello where could i find that expansion socket? thank you
Do you have a reason for using silicone rather than a 2-part epoxy to attach the knot? I presume silicone likely makes it easy to remove the knot if you wanted to later.
That's exactly why. I don't want anyone to have to struggle to remove a knot and risk damaging the handle.
Really enjoy your videos, the color or metallic looking die your are using to produce the Aurora effect is awesome. what is the color or is it a Alumilite resin color.
I use PearlEx powders for all of the Aurora colors: blue, purple, and green.
Stephen Joiner thanks. very nice work and I will be buying one of your bushes soon.
Thanks and let me know if you have any questions!
Sure thing. keep up the awesome work. it is true art work.

Not sure how to contact you or if this is the proper way to do this, (new to the internet). How much would an Aurora (just like the one above), cost with a silvertip badger knot?
Depends on the knot you want to use, the handles are $75 shipped. You can message me on etsy.com/shop/dogwoodhandcrafts. Thanks!
Can I buy one of these?
Yup my shop link is in the description!
Allow me to wax eloquent... WOW.
